When we arrived at 6 to check in we found out that the office closed at 5. They had sent me an email that I never received of the address of the cabin. So we are in Gatlingburg and have no idea where our cabin is. There was an emergency number on the office door to call but we had trouble making the call due to the low reception our phones had in the area. After about 10 attempts we got a hold of the on call person who gave us the cabin address. We set the address in the gps and started up the winding mountain roads. When our gps ended at a dead end we realized that it was not working. These roads were very narrow and winding. Pulling over or turning around was extremely difficult. We found places to stop to ask directions four times. At the last location we got enough phone reception to put the address in our phone and finally arrived at our destination. This was two hours after we got the address. We were afraid we would end up sleeping in our car. The cabin was large but is in need of updates. There are some club houses to go swimming at but with all the winding roads they aren't an easy drive. Every time we wanted to go to the National park or a restaurant it was a five mile drive down. Not the relaxing location we...
Read moreWe stayed in Piney Woods 10AB a Frank Lloyd Wright designed house. Communications and reservations went very well. Unfortunately the photos used on the website no longer represent the actual condition the property is now in. The photographed open bedroom by the fireplace is now a boarded up closed in stuffy little room. The bright upstairs gallery bedrooms that show in the photos are very dark and have odd fuzzy bedspreads instead of the quilts show. The worst part for any FLW lover is the condition of the house itself - rotten eaves and soffits with holes showing rotten wood, mismatched vinyl flooring with no edgings etc. The bathrooms really aren't shown in the photos. They were clean but very old and unappealing with the flooring that has pulled away for the walls in many places. All in all the house is in a sad state and needs help fast. I understand that is the owners responsibility not Club Chalet but their website no longer represents what house shown on...
Read moreWe stayed at Clyb Chalet, cabin 12A, Mountains View Hideaway. I can't say enough good things about this cabin. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom. Everything is up to date, clean with spectacular views. We had a beautiful deck with a table and 4 chairs. There was also a proprane grill overlooking the mountains. The furniture inside was all updated, and the living room had 2 new full-size couches with pull out beds and a full kitchen with all the amenities. Flat-screen TV in the living room with cable, flat-screen tvs in each bedroom, Roku TV or streaming. Fully working washer and dryer in the until. Working fireplace in the living room. I will definitely be back to stay at Club Chalet in Gatlinburg, TN. Gorgeous area, right at the base of the Smokey Mountains. Anything you could possibly need is within 5 miles of the cabin. Office staff, friendly, super helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Would...
