Food was good. Service was not so good. Sat down and no silverware. Waiter wasn't so friendly so I assumed he was having a rough day. When the food came out still no silverware or offered any. We had to ask (no Biggie). Waffles came out and no syrup. The waiter disappeared to where we had to ask the cook. Finished eating and the waiter no where to be found. More people came in and of course received silverware as they sat down. While he was greeting the 2 new tables we were done. I patiently waited for him to come back and check in because at this point we were done eating and needing togo boxes. He waited on the other tables for about 20 minutes until my oldest went to the register and asked for togo boxes and with grits he didn't give a bowl. No check either. The cook even had to tell him to take care of us and he STILL ignored the cook. With no ticket I just walked up to the counter with him still ignoring us. Paid for my food and even left a tip because I know times are hard and I know some tips are shared with the cooks (which he was great!). That young man either was having a bad day or didn't care to serve us and made it uncomfortable to eat with being ignored for the simple things like refilling drinks which he never did. We spent a total of a 1hr which is a bit much with mostly waiting on him to give us togo or just overall needs as a server. He needs to find a better job or lighten up and do his job. He also told a man that shift change is happening in 30 minutes and to wait in his car! I should've tipped $0 but I'm not that type of person when I go out to eat. Get a better server in there before he turns...
Read moreMy review is not based on the food ( it was okay) but it is based on the service I received. My server was a young man by the name of "Anthony". After Anthony took my order, I watched him as he dealt with multiple customers during peak time. His most impressive service manner was that he would tell his customers what he would do, when he would do it and he said it with a smile. By doing so, we all felt that he was giving us attention and not ignoring us and doing the best he could under the circumstances. I asked Anthony if he was in school and he said he was a Senior in High School. I asked him if he was going to college and he said "yes". From time to time, I pick a person to "Pay It Forward" with (I want to be clear that I had never met this young man before today). Anthony was the receiver this morning. Anthony was not just being a server today , he was an ambassador of customer service which is becoming obsolete. Well done Young Man!! Keep that attitude and you...
Read moreI think I have found the standard that all Waffle House restaurants need. Usually I expect no eye contact from waitress/waiter, no smile, no passion for what they are doing. It's just a "job" attitude. Today however, I was greeted right away and offered a seat. My waitress is Princess. She introduced herself to me and offered me some coffee. Made eye contact and carefully placed my silverware and napkin. My order was prompt and warm. I am observing her with other tables and she is just wonderful. She really has a way with people and is an excellent server. She is also a great team player. She articulately calls out the order- facing the cooks without madkfor that brief moment so she can be understood. She even said "Thank You" to the cooks. Princess has come over to check on me and ask how my food is. I am more blown away by her service than the food. The food is great too.. I mean its Waffle House... Managers, please offer Princess the highest position allowed in...
