Room was very clean, beds SUPER comfortable.... my issues were #1 magnetic room keys kept losing their ability to let me in my room, so I had to keep going to the front desk to get them recharged. #2 housekeeping did my room one day and turned off the heat, leaving me to return to a cold room (housekeeping did a great job with cleaning, however).... and lastly, let's talk about Ms. Vicki, a very loud, elderly lady who commands charge of the dining room three days out of the week. Before address the issues she ignites at 6am, I first need to say this place throws down one heck of a great "continental breakfast"....it was much more than I was anticipating for a "continental breakfast " and it was all great!!! Now, back to Ms. Vicki... so arriving to the dining room at 6, not yet having had benefit of any real coffee (oh, be forewarned all of the coffee provided by this motel is very weak, if you need any real coffee/ caffeine.... BRING YOUR OWN, otherwise this place provides very weak "coffee")... now onto Ms. Vicki, everyone needs to be prepared to be verbally accosted immediately upon entering the dining area... she's a real life exploding firecracker of a woman.... she'll immediately engage you with jokes, intrusive conversation, and oversharing of information from her own life.... all while getting you fixed up with waffles and scrambled eggs. I'm sure she means well, but my initial instinct was to lash out to her, I mean how many of us are ready for a three ring circus of jokes, antics and stories from a strangers past times to be forcefully visited upon us at breakfast? I certainly wasn't.... I had to do some mental gymnastics so as not to create an unpleasant scene. I endured her tales of surviving cancer and evil former employers... and more, during my stay here, over breakfast with Ms.Vicki. We ALL have tragedy and such in our lives, she just seems to enjoy visiting hers upon motel guests trying to have breakfast. She'd be a great dining room attendant, if she could eliminate the shenanigans and bring it down a notch or five, and focus on getting guests breakfast.... I'm not sure about anyone else, but at 6 in the morning, I could care less about other people's medical issues, Medicare issues, children's issues, or being forced to participate in unwanted and unwarranted comedy over breakfast. I would not book here...
Read moreWe usually stay at the Country Inn but they got rid of their hot tub (a big feature for us) so we booked at the Comfort Inn...to start with, the parking was a nightmare...not enough for the rooms. Then we stood in the lobby for 20 mins while the one guy at the desk tried to figure out how to bill an oil company worker. Then, as we headed up to our room on the 3rd floor we were inundated with the smell of smoke (in a non smoking hotel) so I went back down front and complained. The flustered employee said he would check as soon as someone else came in. I went back and checked several times as the smoke didn't get better. He really didn't know how to handle it and so we just dealt with it.
Be was comfortable enough but when I got up for breakfast there were no coffee cups in the (very small, very crowded breakfast area) So I had to get some from the front desk. They were out of everything, the pastries were stale, there were no forks, they were out of condiments and not even waffle batter. I tried to talk with the young man taking care of the breakfast but he wouldn't even talk with me.
I gave up and started packing up, as I was loading my truck which I'd parked one spot away from the handicapped space, I found a car parked in the handicap unloading space crowding my truck and the handicap space. Setting in that car "Vaping" was the young man stocking breakfast (which was still in full swing and out of everything)
As we tried to load at 9:30 am the elevator was tied up with housing staff and maintenance staff (working on cable which was also coming in and out)
Employees seemed either untrained or uncaring...the only bright spot was the young woman at the front counter in the morning. She really tried and was very nice.
I'll never go back and would advise for the price you pay there to go anywhere...
Read moreThe staff at check in were very nice. The Hotel appeared very clean. Our room was nice and appeared clean. when we got in bed that night I felt something gritty or sandy in the bed. When I called down to the front desk the girl told me she was not allowed to come to the room (understandable). We had to remove the sheets from our bed, take them to the front desk and they gave us clean sheets that we then had to put onto our bed. If it were not for that one incident I would have rated this hotel as excellent. I'd like to chop it up to a "lazy" staff who just decided not the clean the sheets because I didn't get the shortcut vibe from anywhere else in the hotel. The girl working the desk that night said she would put a note under the managers door about what happened. We had to check out early the next morning but the manager never even attempted to contact us. When I called the hotel after we had returned home (2 days later) the assistant manager asked me what they could do for me. I suggested they comp our room for that night. She agreed and refunded us for the amount of the room. I was very pleased with the outcome. The girls working the front desk appear to have to do many jobs at the same time. Maybe the Hotel should hire more staff and this...
