I hadn't had a chance to write this review until today, but wanted to make sure I did. We are very regular customers, we visit one of the locations almost weekly and always order the same thing. Thomas is almost always on duty when we visit 23rd Avenue.
On this particular occasion, my family and I went for brunch this past Sunday 6/8 for my daughter's birthday. We were served by Alicia L, "Lisha" and immediately noticed her very unfriendly demeanor as she glared at our family of 7. She was very short with her answers and appeared to be annoyed with us since the get-go.
I placed my order - the wowzer waffle with a small side of loaded potatoes - she didn't bring the side of potatoes with the rest of our order, so I asked if it was coming. When she brought it out, it was the regular side and not loaded, so when she turned the corner she was on the other side of the open wall, I let her know I had ordered the loaded side, to which she angrily raised her voice over the wall at me, "You didn't order the loaded side of potatoes! You only ordered a regular one!"
I was humiliated! I told her to forget about it and immediately went to talk to Thomas about it. I told him what the situation was and as he knows I always order the same thing, so he could attest that yes, I definitely would have ordered the potatoes loaded. He offered an apology and said he'd talk to her.
After I spoke with Thomas, Lisha came over with a completely different attitude and offered an apology and told me she would remove the side off of my ticket, but the humiliation and bad service had already ruined our experience.
We went to spend nearly $100 on my daughter's birthday to get yelled at and offered ill-mannered service. Although I've never had an issue at either location, and although Thomas was profusely apologizing, I wouldn't want to return for...
Read moreWe came here on a Sunday morning, they were pretty busy but we were seated right away. We did not ever see our server, we sat for about ten minutes before anyone came to take our order.. A manager did come over during this time and told us that we could not put our baby’s car seat in the high chair how we had it. (When we were seated, we were told no slings were available, this was fine and we didn’t mind putting the car seat in the high chair. We have done it before. I’m pretty sure they are designed to safely hold a car seat when flipped over.) She said it was a liability and asked if we would put the car seat on the table. (Wow, great idea.) My husband and I are both managers at a restaurant, we see people using the high chairs for car seats all the time, and would never dream of going up to a table and harassing them over it. There was another table seated near us that had done the same thing, had their car seat set up in a high chair. She went and made them put their car seat on an empty chair instead. Seemed less safe to me. Anyway, our son woke up so we just put him in the high chair. We waited a bit longer and no other employees acknowledged us. Several servers walked past us and no one said anything. Finally, another manger came over and asked us what we wanted to drink, and she was the one who ended up taking our order and taking care of us. She did a good job, and the food was good. It came out quickly, it was hot and fresh, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Lots of items on the menu sound delicious and I would like to go and try more things, but I highly doubt we will ever come back to this location again. Maybe we will try the one on 10th...
Read moreI am a long term regular diner at Epic Egg Willow Station. Over the course of the last 5 years I have easily spent over $5K at this establishment. I have tried to keep my patronage largely in part because of the manager Mackenzie. However as of today I will no longer support this business. Firstly, the hidden charges. When ordering a mimosa, there is an additional charge of $4 if you choose a juice other than orange. Keep in mind juice is charged at the same rate if ordering only juice, but up charged when ordering a bottle for mimosas. Note - this is reflected nowhere in the menu. Secondly, you can not get crispy bacon or specific instructions for many of the items. The servers are actually instructed to not do this as it "slows down the kitchen". But the last straw for me today was the server Victoria. She was so rushed she did not even check on us. When we questioned our bill, she took our questions personally and stormed off. Throwing the bill at us and walking away. I am not asking for special treatment as a regular, I am asking to be treated with integrity as all customers should. This does not happen in every instance (i.e., subpar food quality, cooking instructions, hidden charges, etc.). Apologies Mackenzie - you have made a poor establishment the best in can be. But we can no longer accept the way this restaurant...
