I was greatly disappointed with my resent stay in Greenville. When we first arrived at hotel were were greater by an extremely nice older gentleman who helped us with our vehicle and bags.
From there things went down hill.
We checked in at front desk and were given our room number 419. When we got up to our room and
the Oder of a Cleaning Smell was super strong as we entered the room. My husband immediately went to park the car after he brought our bags to the room.
I was overcome with how strong the smell was. I sat up on the bed kicked off my sandals and read the restaurant map of the city they gave me at check in. About 3 minutes later I got up to go to bathroom and I stepped down off bed..... immediately my feet were soaking wet and I was thinking what in the world so I be at over and touched the carpet ( which was a bad decision)
The carpet looked like some one had thrown up there were about 6/7 dark spots and unfortunately some pieces of what ever they grew up and apparently they had tried to clean and the floor was soaked..
As you can imagine I immediately was like this is sickening. I went into the restroom grabbed wash cloth, soap and began washing my feet and hands. I was completely discussed and sad because this was supposed to be a one night get away with my husband after a long than season ( he's a CPA)
I called my husband while he was parking the car and he told me to call the front desk.
A young woman came up gave me some keys to another room and said she was sorry.
I had a hard time getting this out of my head. We switched to room 503 and there was Thank goodness no string Oder and no throw up. There was a note saying sorry about other room and two free breakfast coupons.
We decided to go to walk around town. After about
3 hours I want not feeling well and was feeling sick...
I'm sure do to rubbing my hand on the dirty carpet. I cane back to room and my husband ran the bath tub for me. Sadly the bath tub was dirty and definitely had not been wiped down. There was hair stuck to back drain on wall and black diet around rim of tub. I was completely discussed and didn't bother my telling my husband because I knew he would be disappointed.
Sadly we did not go back out because I was feeling sick all night. My poor husband ended up ordering room service around 9:30.
In the morning I was still not feeling great but wasn't 100 percent but we decided to go down for breakfast . My husband and I just ordered eggs at the buffet where surprisingly the Chef was rude.. guess I shouldn't be surprised but she was completely rude.
By the way the waitress was super sweet. I only ate eggs because of still feeling a little ill. My husband had eggs, fruit and toast.
All of the food tasted good he said.
I only had a few bites of my egg but they were fine.
I am greatly disappointed with my stay at this hotel. This is the worst Westin hotel I have stayed in. Last time I was here I stayed at The Hyatt and in the future I will jot be back to this Westin.
I also tried to speak with maid service just to say hello both days, sadly they were pretty rude as well.
Sorry for lousy review I usually always write good review but this was not one of then.
Other than the door greater and waitress, your staff could use some manners.

Read moreI had debated doing a stay-cation here with my wife, but after my experience this past week I cannot imagine staying here.
I worked as a server at The Cliffs, The Hyatt, The Melting Pot, a $75/person steakhouse, and Applebee's. I've been known to frequently tip 40-50%, if not 100%. I've even tipped $500 on $50 once. My favorite servers have received $100 tips at Christmas or Thanksgiving just because....
But that stopped because good service has stopped. Forget good service... people doing their job in nearly every industry has stopped.
This week I ate breakfast at the same place 3 times. It was inside one of the nicest hotels in Greenville - Spoonbread in the Westin Poinsett.
On Monday - I asked for a refill of a drink where soda is $3 per bottle for an 8oz bottle. 30 minutes later I had not received the refill or the bill. I had to seek out my server to get her to do her job. Instead of apologizing for failing to do her job, the waitress added it to my bill and laughed when she saw my shocked face telling me to just take it with me. Why on Earth would I want a $3 miniature soda with no ice to go?
On Wednesday - It took 20 to 30 minutes just to get a water. No one ever came to take my order. Finally I got up and tracked down a server. I was told the only thing available was the $25 buffet. I go here bc i can get a large fruit plate for $6.50. I was told I could get unlimited fruit for $25.
On Thursday - I had the same server who could not get me a refill in half an hour on Monday. She recognized me and made a snide comment bc $3 on $20 apparently isn't sufficient. 15% when you do mot do your job is beyond sufficient. You can imagine the quality of service we received.
Don't tell me I don't understand. I've walked 10,000 miles in those shoes. I know what laziness is in the service world. If I can't expect my server to do their job, why should a server...
Read moreMy family loves staying at Westin Poinsett! We discovered it several years ago when it was recommended to us by a friend that lives in Greenville. We were intrigued by the story of its rebirth. It did not dissapoint! The hotel is gorgeous. Beautiful moldings, marble staircases with elaborate railings, inlaid marble floors and stunning lighting. The lobby and lounge are full of lush, comfortable furniture that encourages you to linger and relax. When its time to turn in, you get to sink into a wonderful Heavenly bed.
Impressed? Well now let's talk about the best part. The personnel is excellent. Everyone we have ever interacted with is courteous, friendly and attentive. Check in/out is always quick and seamless. Nikole takes care of everything and always with a smile. Visit the Spoonbread for a wonderful breakfast or lunch. In addition to great food there is a room of familiar faces belonging to a truly professional wait staff. Evelyn always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is taken care of. Due to inclement weather during our most recent visit we spent more time than usual in the lounge. It was a very busy weekend in Greenville a local festival, two university graduations on Mother's Day weekend and at least one wedding at the hotel. The lounge was hopping! I was truly impressed with Dorothy and Patrick. They delivered food and drinks for hours. Being an observer, I watched as they patiently stood and listened to stories of graduating children and grand children their career plans, why people were visiting, where they were from etc, etc. Not once did they seem to rush or cut a story short or show any sign of frustration. Even with all the attentiveness to each customer, their service was prompt and accurate.
If you have an opportunity to visit Greenville, SC be sure to visit the Westin Poinsett. You will be...
