I took a liking to this place because it presented a comfortable space down in the busy part of South Carolina. Surely people need a theater or two to attend. Let's talk, The carpet may have been a little old as far as design but the only reason why I would probably know this is because Ive seen this carpet before at a hotel that is no longer around and that was some years ago. The staff working this night were very nice and willing to assist us in getting to our seat and answering questions. I did have an issue with the elevator although there was someone standing there to usher people onto the elevator or make sure that people got on and off safely it did not sit well with me that the individual allowed the elevator to become crowded. As we all know COVID is still around and the crowding of the elevator was just not safe. We got off the elevator twice because other people came in behind us so there were approximately six people in the elevator I and my company got off. The next elevator came and there were approximately the same amount of people we got off again. The usher or security did not try and make for this to be a safe situation by asking others not to crowd the elevator. So now it was time to take my seat there's enough room to walk through your row if people are seated without stepping on people's toes that's a good thing. However when a person who is 5'9 or taller is seated in that row the knees will for sure be uncomfortable and sitting in that position for a duration of at least 45 minutes to an hour is not good. You may want to make sure you book your seat at either aisle seat so you can get up and stretch. The stage was not to my liking. Yes it's a performing stage but the floor could have been presented better it showed dirt on a black floor any light color stains are going to show up. And this also could have been avoided from seeing had the cameraman and the lighting man just used the right hue of lighting and angle. What I think I enjoyed seeing is with all the people present at this event I attended to see Leela James , exiting the building was not a chore. The ushers assisting were able to get over 200 people out of the building safely and without incident and this makes a big deal because the place is not huge. I was very happy to see this. The movement of people towards the exits and going towards restrooms or stopping off to take pictures did not cause for a traffic stop or block in the building absolutely wonderful. I don't know if it's like this on a regular but it took us less than 6 minutes to be on the outside of the building and our seating was on the balcony. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to share because I was surprised that I was coming to this theater and then to know that I was there to see one of my favorite artists I just...

Last Saturday we attended the GSO as newish subscribers. This was our second evening there. We attended the Beethoven evening previously and sat in our seats as directed by an usher. So last Saturday we went up to our seats in the balcony and waited for performance to begin. I glanced at my phone—it was 7:03p. There was nothing to communicate to us that we could not sit in the seats the usher showed us to, the last time we attended a performance. No texts to my phone and no barriers to enter the balcony were in place. 10-15 min AFTER the performance began, an usher came to our seats and asked to see our tickets in an aggressive manner. I was very startled and had trouble pulling them up on my phone. As she peered at my private information on my phone she asked how we were able to get in without tickets. I assume she thought we somehow entered with out payment. I asked repeatedly why she could not have waited until the piece was over and she replied that her boss told her to remove us. I thought, we had been there thirty minutes before the performance began—why couldn’t they have discussed this issue with us then? As we collected our belongings, our evening was in my mind ruined. We got ready to leave. I asked to speak with her boss and she called him, Mr D Becker in this case. I repeated to him why this could not have been delt with after the first piece ended. He answered by shrugging his shoulders. I called and left a message as to our experience on the box office phone. Mr Becker called me this morning and allowed me to explain our experience again. He apologized and offered tickets to the upcoming holiday performance. I subsequently learned from him that the usher from the Beethoven performance in fact showed us to the wrong seats! I declined the free tickets offered to us. We don’t know if we will finish our subscription but we will not renew. It was humiliating. Our enjoyment of the evening was not their priority. That’s all I...
