As soon as Tuesday morning gets here I will be reporting the awful experience my family and I had at this place to the Operating Manager and Owner. If you look up my history of Google reviews, I have never left a bad one. This is my first and it is with good reason. I had a party of 7 so to make things easier I offered the host to split us up if it helped but could we sit next to the windows. We are out of town visiting so I wanted to just enjoy the view. The host says it will be a minute, but yes we could get a window seat,I said no problem. The restaurant is unusually empty so I didn't think much of it. A few minutes later she has our tables ready and it's not near the window, I look around and see two NEIGHBORING WINDOW TABLES ARE AVAILABLE. When our server arrives I ask her about the tables and to see if they were available. She says she will check with the hostess. The hostess appears at our table a few minutes later and verbatim says SO YOU'RE REFUSING SERVICE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GET A WINDOW TABLES?! I am taken aback! It takes me a minute to respond because of her accusation and her tone. I am an educator of teens so I am have great emotional intelligence and training. I calmly inquire what she is talking about. So according to her that's what the waitress reported. I am a diffuser of situations so I explain to her no, I simply asked if those two tables are available. The hostess is offended and cold, the manager comes over and her attitude is crude and short from the beginning. I am starting to wonder to what extent did this waitress lie, because why is the manager rude? The hostess attempts to give us the seats but The manager refuses us the seats because they are assigned to a waitress who has a large party of 8. She brings us another waitress so we ask can we have the new waitress at the window tables since she switched the server out for this table. THIS MANAGER GETS LOUD AND SAYS SHE DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS! We can either sit 7 tables apart or on the way, but we are not getting the available window tables. Again in disbelief, I try to remind her that this is an awful way to treat customers, I remind her that I had a server blatantly lie to another colleague causing conflict.. My family and I are trying to decide what option to take my head is spinning we decide to leave. On the way out I speak to the other hostess that offered to seat us and he is calm, the ignorant and I'll trained manager is there and I finally tell her I have never experienced such treatment and I hope this is not due to race. She gets irate telling me I can't pull the race card because she is married to a black man. It is not a card, it's a reality for many, maybe her husband hasn't clued her into this reality but hey she's assures me she knows the minority experience because she is sleeping with a black man....she storms off cussing. I will not let others be subjected to this experience and will never go to another Carolina Ale House, this company has lost patrons they've had for years, from Harbison, to The Vista, to Augusta....it's been a good ride but this is good bye. We took our...
Read moreCarolina Ale house☺ I FINALLY GOT THE CHANCE TO EAT AT CAROLINA ALE HOUSE MY BIRTHDAY JUNE 3! I WAS KIND OF HEARTBROKEN NO-ONE SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME AND THEY WERE OUT OF CHEESECAKE & MUD PIE WHICH WAS SUPPOSE TO BE MY BIRTHDAY DESSERT CHOICES SO I WOUND UP GETTING PEACH COBBLER...TO GO. I DID ENJOY THE SCENERY OF DOWNTOWN AS WE SAT OUTSIDE ON THE PATIO BUT I WAS LET DOWN SUNDAY NIGHT Because I CHOSE CAROLINA ALE HOUSE OUT OF ALL PLACES TO EAT FOR MY BIRTHDAY here in Greenville & downtown & THE FACT THAT MY MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER CAME FROM OUT OF STATE from NC FOR MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION...MY MOTHER ORDERED A PIZZA BUT WAS TOLD THEY WERE ONLY ON KIDS MENU BUT DID MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR A PIZZA TO BE MADE IN THE KITCHEN..BAD PART THERE WAS NO SAUCE ON THE PIZZA & SO MY MOM HAD A DRY thrown together PIZZA with meat & a little bit of cheese. I ORDERED CHICKEN Tenders & BBQ RIBS COMBO WHICH WAS OK BUT NOT TOP OF THE LIST. THE SLAW YOU GET AT ALE HOUSE ISN'T A SLAW I Want ever again. It was horrible! It wasnt creamy enough and the cabbage strands are too long & it looked horrible. Tasted horrible. The fries I recieved were hot & fresh after we sent them back but had no flavor & tasted as if the grease needed to be changed. I was not satisfied with this meal and I was embarrassed to show my family a good time there as it was all of our first visit. I had been speaking highly of ale house as I am a new resident of Greenville SC & I was truly let down. It was late night and my family & I were hungry so we did not complain but from me I am disappointed highly in ale house how i got treated my birthday as far as the meal went. Then the bill was high as ever! I will say my waitress was nice but I expected more on my birthday. I am a server myself and i work in the food business have been 15 years. We did tip her as well because I'm a waitress & she was nice But no birthday love was shown. My waitress did tell me HAPPY birthday but that's it. I had to remind her at the end to get my dessert because she forgot all about my bday...my RIBS were cold but bbq chicken tenders were hot. The tenders were on top of my ribs. I wont say I won't visit again because i believe in second chances and i want to try another dish but I would like it to be better than this past Sunday. My grandmother did like her fried chicken salad i will say you got a A plus for that. But please get another slaw to present for ale house. By Carolina ale house being downtown & right in the middle of everything..this is only a review to help you & change. Like i said I'm in the food business & I'm a big time FOOD critic. I take pictures of all of my meals and I rate them. Please make sure you don't send out cold food like I received. We had to send the fries back they were cold. I mean come on ALE house... I had a little more passion for you until this happened. I also felt as if i shouldn't have chose this place to celebrate my 32nd birthday. Yes...

Went on Friday afternoon around 4pm. Was greeted with “If you want to sit at the bar fine but if you want a table it will be at least 10 minutes, we only have 2 servers”.
Wow really? That’s a terrible way to do business. But it is Friday afternoon. It is March Madness. You have TVS e Rey where and there is a Rascal Flatts concert in 3 hours. Plan accordingly people.
The place was very busy I give them that but there were open tables everywhere. There were many open seats at the bar so we just chose to sit there so we could see some games.
At least 10 minutes go by and not a sole has even acknowledged that we are sitting there. No one. Not even the bar tender who you would think would know when someone new comes up right. Nope. So we left
We also ordered from them Uber Eats a week and a half prior when we were in town for the SEC tournament. After about 20 minutes and the driver was supposed to be at our place within 10 more, he called me saying “they don’t have your burger that you ordered”. Like it’s not even a menu option. What?? How? How hard is it to put a burger together? There was only one specialty about it…….an egg. You are saying that they have no eggs? Do restaurants not always have eggs? Idk seems they don’t. So we had to order a different burger which was a different price. Lower. Was we reimbursed for that you ask…….nope. The quesadilla I ordered was greasy and of course cold once it got there. To Jo fault of the Uber driver at all. Bless him. He was very apologetic and it wasn’t even his apology to make. Carolina Ale House certainly didn’t call to let us know anything. They had the driver call?? Really??
We won’t be back here. Two bad experiences within a week...
