The food here is actually quite wonderful, but you guys only get one star. Allow me to explain why- In the past two weeks we have been to this location twice. The first time, we ordered and on trying to leave a tip were informed either by a manager or someone trying to appear authoritative that they could not accept cash. This, spoken while looking me dead in the eye, was an outright lie. We generally don't pay with or carry cash, and I tried to pay in cash so that we could tip, on account of the heaping bowl of cash tips sitting in front of us on the counter (I assume they went ahead and decided to accept them since the same bow was sitting there today, nearly empty.). Today, we went in and were once again met with worthless service. We ordered a Mediterranean bowl, my usual, which costs $12.95, in addition to a Mushroom Muffaletta, my wife's favorite. Those normally cost $9.95 but were advertised on the in store menu today as a special (chefs choice I think it said?) for $5.95. We ordered and then asked about beverages, to which the response was to the effective of "what you see is what we have", But as a contact wearer who left his lenses at home, to me that indicated they either had nothing to drink or didn't want the sale. I had to ask the cashier to guide me through the beverages that were available after he had already been rude once in addressing us. We ordered two cream sodas and were met with a price of somewhere in excess of thirty dollars, and put back a drink opting to share one. this brought our new total to 27.78. Please help me to understand this: -Mediterranean bowl: $12.95 -Mushroom muffaletta: $5.95 -Bottled soda: $3.00 (grossly overpriced but that's beside the point) By my math, after taxes It should have been in the ballpark of $22.50, however our total of $27.78 has us sitting on a tax rate of right about that amount (21.17%?). Isn't that why we broke off from Europe almost 250 years ago? What are we eating that's worth that much inflation exactly? I digress. Finally, after asking to be seated inside when asked "for here or to go?" by the cashier, as reflected on our receipt - they opted to give us a to go bag, (as though the place, while completely dead and vacant sans maybe 3 or 4 guests who were already seated and eating, was too busy for them to understand "for here" vs. "to go". ) and sent us on our way. I guess they don't want our business. On a side note, I actually do know why the discrepancy in price occurred, perhaps their cashier can read this review and figure it out as...

My husband and I have frequented this location many times over the years, as we live close by. We recently had twins and have brought them here many times. We went in today and ordered for all 4 of us and spent close to $50 on lunch. As ALL kids do, our boys threw some of their food on the ground and my husband was cleaning most of it up as they ate. A gentleman came in very quickly, rounding the corner of where we were sitting, slipping on a small bit of food / the leg of the high chair my son was sitting in. We immediately asked him if he was okay and apologized. The manager (a guy with a buzz cut, totally unpleasant demeanor, who was mean mugging us the entire meal while he was running food) came over and said to my husband sternly "you need to clean this up, I just had a customer slip and fall." My husband told him we saw what happened and when I asked him if he was serious, he started getting incredibly aggressive. My husband and him had an exchange of words as my husband went to get napkins to clean the small amount of remaining food up. The manager continued to glare at us and after this exchange, I decided we needed to leave because it was insane that he was treating us like this and talking to us in this manner. I walked over to him and told him he probably should take his high chairs away since he clearly isn't okay with kids eating here. He told me to get out of his face or he was going to call the cops. (Unique turn of events for the manager to be a Karen). Him and my husband continued exchanging words, and again he threatened to call the cops. As we were walking out the door, he was right on my husband, who was holding one of our boys, and as he barely got out the door, the manager started slamming it shut on him. This manager clearly is completely mentally unstable, and an absolute idiot if he thought he was somehow in the right here. We always clean the food up off the floor when we go somewhere with our kids, but it is not our responsibility to. This manager should probably be fired for accosting customers the way he did us, but then he should go take a class or two about how restaurants work. Will never go back here, ever, and be warned - if you have kids, they aren't welcome at this location, especially if they act like...

My husband and I stopped by for the first time to grab some lunch and we dined in. When we approached the counter to order, a male employee came to the register but just stood there looking down. He did not acknowledgment us or even greet us as simple as “hello”. He didn’t even bother to look up at us and we noticed the tension so we just started ordering. Once we finished, he placed a buzzer on the counter along with our cup. All he said was our total and once we paid, he left to the back of the restaurant. We haven’t dined at this establishment before and not every restaurant provides a buzzer so it was odd he couldn’t bother to even tell us about it before he left. After that we sat down and waited for our buzzer to buzz. We noticed many other people ordering and receiving their order before us. Im not sure what to assume from that but we continued to wait at our table. The female employee that delivered us our order was very sweet and polite. I did ask her for the name of the male employee that took our order and was informed he was the assistant manager named Wilson. The food was delicious and we both enjoyed what we ordered. But since this was our first impression, we left with a negative experience. I can’t help but think if the assistant manager is that rude and unapproachable with customers I can’t imagine how he is with the other staff. Regardless of how much I enjoyed the food, if I have to deal with this customer service every time I come in I would rather...

Amazing experience. Truly a modern kitchen. From ordering online (and the interaction with the kitchen about I'm on my way, I'm here, I've picked up my order is nice) to the easy pick-up station (with seperate areas for delivery and online orders) to the wonderful healthy fast menu selection. Even ordering in store is touchscreens! So many delicious options to choose from I went with Berkshire pulled pork (with rice and chimichurri) and rosemary mashed sweet potatoes and arugula blue cheese salad for sides. Also got dessert, a delicious marshmallow salted caramel rice krispie topped with Nutella. Everything was so good, tasted almost home cooked to me. I didn't leave anything left. Excited to eat here again. Love how healthy, modern, fast, and tasty it is. Would recommend to everyone.

We had a horrible experience last night with Modern Market. One that was very dangerous to my family. We are a gluten free family by necessity. Last night we had a friend over and so we ordered a GF pizza and a regular pizza. The boxes came with no labeling so we had no idea which was GF. We thought we could guess at the right one so my husband went ahead and starting eating while I called the store. The gal we talked to was very nice but had no way to explain which was which but tried to tell us. Her description meant, my husband ate the wrong one. This morning, he was very sick. She told me the manager would get back to us last night and we still have heard nothing. Reprehensible behavior if not downright dangerous. Terrible customer service. Can't believe it.
