Amazing!!! Extraordinaire !!! If you ever wonder what kind of delicious pastries you could get in a top notch bakery in France, you will find it at La Belle. This is definitely the work of a master French pastry chef. I am very sensitive to gluten so I was going to this place just to get croissants and pastries for my wife and kiddos. I showed up right when they open in the morning and there were so many pastries/options I could not decide what to get. All pastries looked like beautiful art pieces. Then, I saw that contrary to almost all French bakeries I went to in US and in France (I am French), they had many gluten-free options. I almost fainted, cried and screamed at the same time. Everything we tried was so delicious and so beautifully crafted. We have so many other pastries to try. We will definitely come back. As often as possible. I foresee that the chef will have to open more bakeries in Colorado and in the rest of the US in the very near future... Note to the chef: Could you please tell your personnel to separate gluten-free pastries from regular pastries when they package them? Cross-contamination can easily happen. Merci beaucoup...
Read moreWe were so excited to have a french bakery/pastries so close .We did pick up some bake goods few years ago from his other location and he proudly sold us some frozen croissants and desserts and he kept saying, that's the best way to keep them fresh. To me if im doing a twice bake croissant something like almond croissant using frozen one will not effect the flavor but selling a frozen croissant in a bakery is just wrong. The croissants are not shiny, not flaky and it definitely tasted old to me. As far as desserts, they are delicious. they have no price infront of any of them and based on the small sizes we assumed that they are about $4 same as the croissant but nooooo sir they are $8 each for such small desserts. When we were paying and paid almost $70 for just 6 items. An older lady who bought only 2 desserts came back in and complained about being charged way too much and she was telling them that she only purchased 2 items and she was not charged correctly. So based on the price and frozen croissants I...
Read moreI first met Chef Julien in 2020 the day after he posted a video to Facebook about the ways he was trying to keep La Belle (a formerly commercial-only bakery) alive during the lockdowns in 2020 and I have been a loyal patron ever since. Without question the absolute best French Bakery in the state, and arguably the best bakery of any kind. Absolute commitment to quality, freshness, and creativity. I have not tasted one thing that I would not recommend. Baguette? Life-changing for an American who had previously never tasted true French bread. Croissant? A revelation of flaky, buttery deliciousness that even my 7-year-old will eat plain with no complaints. Gluten Free Chocolate Financier? Amazing. BUT MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE IS THE CROISSANT CINNAMON ROLLZ LIGHTLY WARMED SERVED WITH THE BEST COFFEE I HAVE AVAILABLE AND YOU CAN NOT CHANGE MY MIND.
P.S. If you think this is hyperbole, it's only because you have yet to try it.
P.P.S. - Try the salmon croissant sandwich it is — at the risk of being redundant...
