I am a pretty easy going person when I travel and I just have to write a review because this was the worst experience I've had with a Hilton brand hotel EVER! We arrived 2 hrs after our expected time via our check in, I get there and go to my room to find out my digital key doesn't work i go down stairs they say oh yeah I dunno why that doesn't work, we immediately set our things down and want to shower after a 15+ hrs car ride get all wet and there is no shampoo conditioner or body wash, so I just have hot water running over me, I get out call down and ask for some...sure we'll send someone up 25 min go by and nothing so I go down and ask again oh I'm so sorry I'll take some up. I go back up and lay down to wait for the stuff so I can actually shower and look over and there is food crumbs all over the night stand, I'm instantly irritated. At that same moment a staff member opens the door and walks in with tissue box in her hand and apologizes...I call down and now let them know the room isn't clean. I go back down and they offer to change us rooms they said they don't think the staff was finished and they shouldn't have checked us in yet....2 hrs after exp arrival time mind you but ok, sure they offer to move us and we decide to stay put cuz were exhausted...until, the temp drops what feels like 30 degrees in a matter of hours so we turn the heat on in the room and it's just blowing cold air, I call down yet again and let them know the heat isn't working...someone finally shows up to look at it tinkers with it a bit and let's us no it doesn't work...mkay, we'll thanks for that clarification. They they come up to the room to drop keys for the room they are moving us to and go oh man it really is cold in there...yes, we're fully clothed and still freezing in here. The next morning I go down for some coffee which also was terrible but glad they had the hot tea cuz that's how we were staying warm in the cold room, and the front desk says miss how is the new room I reply warm so It's better, she then replies she is going to compensate us for the stay...we check out and left early cuz we were done with this place and I get back home to texas and nothing at all was compensated or returned to my card, I reach out twice to the hotel and don't get any response so I call the guest service # on Hilton.com they then put me through to someone at the hotel who then asks me to hold...she gets back on and i ask for a manager and she let's me know the manager isn't at work till Thursday....I was so looking forward to this trip and you know this very unpleasant experience definitely put a damper on what was spose to be a relaxing getaway to rest and recharge...I am extremely disappointed with this hotel, quality, customer service and response or lack there of by Hilton as a whole - if you're desperate sure in a pinch book it but definitely lower your expectations this place shouldn't be associated with the Hilton brand at all...I only stay at Hilton brand hotels because they keep their places to a standard....this one did NOT meet standards on any level...

I'm kicking myself for staying here and not one of the other hotels nearby. The hotel system somehow lost my reservation, which wasn't a huge deal because the young man at the front desk was super accommodating and pleasant. I think he's about the only good thing people say about this place. The elevator reeked, but I looked past it since it's not like I was going to be staying in them. HOWEVER. When I walked into my room, I actually said, "I'm not sure if I want to take off my shoes..." Carpet was nasty. Bathroom, not clean or stocked. Bed was okay but a tad smelly. Breakfast is nonexistent, which the front desk did inform me of how scant it is when I checked in. I didn't plan on eating there anyway, but I know some people rely on it. I made a noise complaint about the room next door (I was getting up at 5 for a conference, so I wasn't happy about the constantly screaming and crying from the next door after 10pm), but the front desk appeared to have not checked in on the issue or the room in question. Hopefully the child who was literally screaming and crying at the top of her lungs is okay! I also had a run in with a rude worker when I said "Excuse me" to get around her, to which she responded by rolling her eyes, looking back down at her phone, and not moving. Another annoyance was the fact that the coffee machine in the room was only stocked with decaf. I did appreciate the bathroom set up, the large mirror/closet duo, and the microwave. It's also a decent location.
I now edited my review because I wrote this before my last night. I had to call the cops on the room next to me because the man in there was abusing his wife and very obviously snorting cocaine. Full disclosure, I've never done cocaine, but I don't know what else requires that much snorting and tapping. I informed the front desk about this, and she was so rude to me about it. She didn't check in on them, and she didn't even believe me. I'm not sure if the cops ever came because I moved rooms. When I returned to ask for a room switch, the same front desk lady very rudely and curtly said, "Can I help you?". I was shocked that she was talking to me. The new room was just as bad, but did have regular coffee. I thought about leaving and asking for a refund multiple times, but since I was on a business trip and didn't trust the front desk to refund me, I stayed. I also never received a receipt for my stay.
My advice on this place is run---don't walk, run-- from this place. It's filthy and understaffed yet somehow every time I passed the front desk a new person was working (I stayed 4 nights). I can see why no one would work here. Let's just say if this was the last job on Earth, and I needed money to feed...
Read moreFirst time at a Sparks Hotel by Hilton. Didn't really know what to expect. Apparently, this is the new low cost brand for Hilton, which shows.
The entrance to the hotel is not clearly shown. The entrance is the backway, which only has lighted sign from another low budget hotel. You can't see the sign for Sparks at all. Just keep going around the parking lot. You'll get there.
The entrance to the hotel is not inviting. It is very low and overbearing. Odd thing to note but it felt very enclosed. The front desk person was friendly. That was good.
The room has the bare essentials you might expect in a budget hotel. Nice bed. AC system worked. For some reason though, the heating unit was shut off when I arrived. The weather outside was in the mid to low teens, yet they thought it was a good idea to shut the heating unit off. It took a while for the room to finally warm up.
There is no in-room coffee service. As a matter of fact, there is no in room cup anywhere to be found. Maybe it was just the room I was in but I found that to be surprising.
The bathroom have seen better days. Maybe they will update it but the standing shower grouts were peeling near the floor. The tissue had 5 in the box. The toiler paper had a few sheet on it. Good thing there was a spare.
The breakfast was bagels only. I now recall reading breakfast was "bagel bar with spreads and Folgers coffee" when I booked the room. I found the "bagel bar" holder was supposed to be cinnamon, plain, and everything bagel. In reality, all of them were plain bagels. The first one I took had one corner that was wet from some liquid. Tried to grab from a different one from two other rows but they were all really hard. Finally had to grab one from the back of the first row.
Conclusion - this is obviously an older hotel that has been spruced up. The carpets have been replaced but there still remains some work to be done. It's a budget hotel so keep...
