I am writing you to inform you of my Olive Garden experience at your Hampton, Virginia location. My family and I decided to have lunch at this location on yesterday 7-10-18 around 1:00 p.m. I ordered the lunch duo which consisted of soup, chicken & gnocchi and grilled chicken piadina for my meal. When my soup arrived I began to eat but a few seconds into it I felt something in mouth that didn't feel like the soup, I pulled the object out of my mouth and it was a clear triangular shaped piece of plastic. I put it on the side of my bowl and waited for Latreena who was our waitress. I told Latreena exactly what is stated above and she then asked me, "what do you want me to do?" I was puzzled by this question so I just looked in shock at her. She then stated she was going to get her manager, Chris. Chris came to the table and I told him the story and he began laughing and said "You brought that plastic from home?" My whole table along with myself just looked in total disgust at him for his poor attempt at humor in a serious situation. He then told me they were making another batch of soup and would bring it right out to me. Before leaving he then stated the statement again about me bringing it from home. I was very upset, how dare he insult me! My waitress gave horrible service, my family and I had to conserve our drinks because she would be gone for 10 minutes at a time, never bringing back what we'd asked for the previous time she had came to our table. She was horrible, simply put.The whole hour we were there at Olive Garden I thought about how I've had better service at McDonald or somewhere else with a dollar menu, here we are at "Olive Garden" getting treated horribly. I am so disappointed and upset at the service my family and I had yesterday. I come to Olive garden quite a bit and to have such poor service is unacceptable. A manager is supposed to represent your company, Chris is not a good representation of what I know Olive Garden to be. He's highly unprofessional and so was Latreena with asking me what I want her to do. I'm a paying customer why do I have to do her job? I'm very upset about...

The gentleman who came shortly after looked at us as if we were trespassers to the restaurant as opposed to guests. I indicated that the two of us were there for dinner. He told us the wait was about 20 minutes, though there were empty tables as far as our eyes could see. We sat in the waiting area for about 10 minutes and were then ushered to a table directly in front of the kitchen in the bar area. The loud sounds of clanging dishes led me to request a different table. He then responded that it would be another 10-minute wait and walked away. Immediately thereafter, a couple who had just entered the restaurant were swiftly taken to a table in the back (where the seating is in a quiet area with a welcoming ambience and pleasant decor) right after walking in - no wait. Meanwhile, a female employee who witnessed our exchange told the gentleman to seat us in an area a few feet from where he'd initially directed us, saying that she would take our table. The gentleman was clearly miffed and snatched the menus and napkins with silverware off the first table, moving them to the second one. I pointed out the couple that had not had to wait at all, and the gentleman explained that he had planned out the seating. At this point, my mother stated that she would not spend any of her money in this place, heading for the exit. She asked me where I'd like to eat instead. Once outside, she saw Red Lobster across the street, and we went there where we were treated like royalty from start to finish, enjoying a delicious dinner of shrimp and lobster with cheesecake for dessert. I'm not sure why the gentleman had such disdain for us, but his egregious behavior assured that we will not...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst time visiting Olive Garden in 5 years. Only about 15 cars in parking lot on a Friday at 5:30pm--not a good sign.
We were seated promptly as there were only about 20 patrons in the restaurant. Server was at our table within a minute. Our drinks arrived in less than a minute and another minute we had our soup and salad. He was very polite and professional. Excellent service throughout the meal.
I ordered the Tour of Italy and my friend had the Ravioli Carbonara with chicken. The menu has changed and selections are limited compared to 5 years ago. My favorites are no longer on the menu.
The soup and salad are still top notch and the best part of the meal. I can't say that for the rest of the meal.
The Tour of Italy had three small items that didn't cover half the plate. The lasagne was just ok. The Alfredo was a lumpy mess that tasted like macaroni and cheese. The chicken Parm was obviously a frozen piece of breaded chicken heated with sauce on top and a few little slivers of cheese. For $20 it was not even up to the quality of Fazoli.
The Ravioli Carbonara was covered with a heavy pasty sauce--not the light cream sauce as advertised. My friend ate one Ravioli and then just ate the chicken. I took the rest home and tried it for lunch the next day. It was too thick and heavy for me and I didn't even make it through the first ravioli before it went in the trash.
Total bill was just under $60 for 2 dinners, a soda and water. There are a lot of better choices that you can find for less money. I would rate the food just above fast food quality at 4...
