When this Kroger first opened up, I was really excited. I used to shop at the Yorktown location because I really appreciate the variety available at Kroger. We started using the online grocery pick-up option immediately and still use it at least 2x a month, with bulk ordering. It is a huge convenience with busy schedules.
In the last few years, this particular location has gone down in stars for me. With every order, something is wrong. I use to chalk it up to a simple mistake because it was maybe one or two things. But it is so often or awful that i can't ignore it. If it's not about the crappy fulfillment of my order, it's an extremely long wait (30-45 minutes sometimes more) with no heads up or explanation. My bags are often haphazardly put together. Such as raw meat with lunchmeat or fruit. Sometimes, the bread is smashed underneath canned goods or heavy items. Often, when I arrive home, my bags are tumbling out of the back of the car as if it was tossed in there and not placed with care. Denting or busting items, leaving a mess.
It's very frustrating to trust someone with a service and handling the food I am spending $500+ on to have to call and complain often. And I hate calling because getting in touch with someone is like playing phone tag!
I appreciate the service so much!! As a busy mom, I enjoy skipping the lines or crowded store and having the option to schedule it. But with this many issues, I mind as well do it myself and go through self check out. I really hope they can improve on better job training because I love Kroger and want to keep using the...

Read moreRating a shopping center, not a store. Not bad for groceries and some furniture, but beware, several years ago the City of Hampton got rid of a mall and built a storefront mall (for lack of name) where you go outside to get to the other stores. To pay for it, they forced an extra tax on purchases at the establishments. The good thing, it was a temporary tax to pay for the construction. The BAD part is, they not only still have the tax, it is now everywhere in the area! I'm not talking a 1% tax that you don't realize, it is 4.5%. Again, this wouldn't be bad but the tax burden should have been relieved, but no, it's been extended. Supposed to be a small six square block area but is now around 30 square blocks and doubled! Did our property tax go down, no. Did our vehicle tax go down, no. Did any of our tax burden go down, NO! Have the roads improved, no. Have city services improved, NO. Has ANYTHING improved that can be attributed to this tax, NO! Has the cost of the original construction been paid for, yes. Have the people that imposed this tax gotten pay increases above the rate of other city workers,...
