I am a Hot Springs resident and this is my favorite brunch in the area. I had a breakfast Sammy with Ham and my husband had the brunch burger. The ingredients are good quality and everything is flavored to perfection. We also tried the lemon blueberry scone. I’m always leery of scones because they’re usually hard/dry but this scone was flaky and soft. And then the best item on the menu: their homemade cinnamon rolls. It’s the perfect texture, ratio of cinnamon, and so soft. I can’t brag enough on the cinnamon rolls.
I’m also a big coffee drinker and, while they don’t have the fanciest coffee drinks, their espresso and coffee are solid and delicious. I ordered an espresso/coffee combination called the Redeye on their menu and added half and half and stevia and the coffee taste shines through wonderfully!
And then, to top it off, the owner and her son make the experience even better with their warmth and kindness to every customer. They check to make sure you are enjoying your items. Just excellent customer service.
I told my husband the best way I know to describe the vibes I get from this coffee shop is that it makes me feel like I am in an episode of Gilmore Girls. Cozy, home-y, warm. Good music.
I’m so happy to have this...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were passing through Hot Springs from Texas and absolutely LOVED this place. The owners and employees really do make the place a memorable experience. The house itself is just simply beautiful and cozy - really like hanging out at your moms house vibes, mixed with fantastic coffee, live dulcimer player (on Sundays) and pastries to die for. My boyfriend got the cinnamon roll and I got the scone. I believe after the first bite my boyfriend began to pray for how grateful he was that that cinnamon roll exists! HA! I am never an eater of scones, but this one looked delicious, so I went for it, and MAN and I sure glad I did. BEST SCONE EVER! I am now a fan of scones - well at least 1 in Hot Springs! LOL They treated us so generously and kind, and the dulcimer player was so talented and knowledgable on the music he was playing. We loved the experience so much, stopping through Hot Springs on the way back home to Texas with friends we just had to bring them there. in one week, we did hundreds of miles and TWO stops at the hideaway cafe. Cheers to keeping them in business so that we can...
Read moreAfter one visit it's hard to get a full read on a place, but the environment was very eccletic and unique; a hodgepodge of decor and items that don't go together, which actually made it work. The latte was not great, but then again I'm picky about coffee. The lemon bar was decent and chilled. My negatives would be the cleanliness, lighting inside, and tidiness of the house (crumbs, dust, clutter, most lights turned off and blinds slightly open)
Service was great and attentive, even checking on me and offering to turn lights on, take my plate, and charged me half-price for my lemon bar since he said, "it's smaller than they normally are". Foot traffic increased after I was there about an hour studying and I heard mostly praises about the food from tables around me. I would say this is less a coffee shop and more of a cafe/brunch style place. The house is inviting and there is an outside porch with seating. It was a good place to sit for awhile.
Would easily be 5 stars if the espresso drinks and tidyness was improved. I can see GREAT potential! I'll be back for an updated review after...
