Let me preface this with I’m a glass half full person and grumpy right now, so:
Definitely needs more elevators. Sometimes I give up and take the stairs and that is really irritating. We moved in while Whole Foods was still here, and in addition to whole foods vanishing, the building services have been cut increasingly since we moved in. They used to offer classes and yoga and more concierge services. Then the events disappeared, they cut the concierge staff down to one person (from what seemed to be three) and then other things declined. There is fragrance used in the common rooms that makes another tenant is allergic to and has complained about, but they have been unresponsive to their concern.
It can get dirty in common spaces on weekends, bringing back dorm life a little too much.
But the place has a lot of great things. I just feel like it’s becoming less desirable over time and prices aren’t really changing sufficiently.
The employees are great and responsive but I’d say they are understaffed and there should be someone responsible for weekend stuff.
Our apartment is lovely though, with natural light, large windows, and nice sized closets. And I love the common spaces where you could work, have a meeting, or maybe hold a fantasy draft. The 8th floor lounge is lovely with a great view, a kitchen, tvs, a bar, and great for entertaining. The pool is also very nice but short on providing shade. There gated parking on site, safety has not been a concern, and the gym is perfectly fine for me. It’s also nice to have access to the many grill stations. Oh and the dog spa is nice to have and the dog park is great as long as it is regularly hosed down so that smell doesn’t get too intense. There’s also a guest suite you can reserve for out of towners, but you usually have to plan way ahead because it’s in-demand.
But yeah some of the luster might have left with Whole Foods.
Also the building has ceased recycling without prior notification to residents because apparently residents were incurring charges by improperly recylcing. It’s been quite some time and recycling has not been restored. I feel that this is a necessary problem to troubleshoot.
Our dishwasher probably should be updated imho because it doesn’t work that well and some of other appliances could use love.
Love location and don’t want to move though so...
Read moreI've been here since January 2024.. soon to make two years. I love this property & planned to continue renewing my lease. However, this property recently just changed their entire leasing office staff which has put me into an inconvenience with a recent situation. on June 16, I used the company Spruce (a company that they constantly email you to use and promote). I was not home (i'm a teacher & work summer school, i'm gone from 7:10am - 7pm) when the cleaning lady arrived. The Leasing office is who provided the lady with the key to come into my apartment and clean (meaning they were aware that i had cleaners there). The cleaning lady left a few trash bags outside my door. I'm assuming in order for her to finish mopping.. and by the time she was done (2:33pm) finishing my apartment the trash bags were gone. I even had a guest let up by one of the leasing consultants, and she even said there was no trash at my door at the time that she let the guest up. I just got the billing for July 1 rent and I was charged a $75 cleaning fee, mind you nobody cleaned up anything. I have gone to the office, I told them they could check the cameras for my whereabouts, I told them they could see that I was clearly at work and don't get home till 7, and I was told that they will look into it by the property manager and never got any information back regarding that. Angela, Makenzie & the rest of the old staff would've actually looked into it and I know for a fact the issue would've been addressed and handled the correct way. I've been here too long and have never violated any trash rules since i've been here and they are aware of that, so why would I randomly violate it now while i'm at work??? I was gonna accept the fee and just let it be cause i did not feel like going back and forth over $25 because I was under the impression that it was $25 however i was charged $75!!!!! For a cleaning fee that no one came and cleaned. I am truly highly upset and wish they would've never changed the management. Only good thing about this property now is Skylar and the...
Read morePearl Marketplace at Midtown (PMP-MT) was a godsend! Last September, a monumental life change was unexpectedly thrust upon me, and I needed to regroup. I moved on, but not out. My home state, IL, specifically the Chicagoland area, is a tough act to follow, but so far, Houston, TX, you’re alright! My sister moved here 20 years ago after life threw her a few “potshots,” but she has thrived ever since! So, after “enough-is-enough-life,” two weeks ago, I moved to PMP-MT, sight unseen, on my sister’s recommendation. Oh my! PMP-MT took my breath away! Even though my belongings were delayed TWO WEEKS (the moving industry…what a racket…grrrhhh!), the staff, my sister and her colleagues, just rolled up their sleeves and made me feel at home even before I moved into my apartment! I know I am pernickety. I sent so many “Is this…?” and “Are you sure…?” emails the weeks prior, but the PMP-MT staff answered each inquiry seamlessly and without judgment! Spacious and logical floor plans! Effective fitness center! Lovely pool area! Inviting rooftop relaxation setting! Safe. Extremely clean. Convenient. Affordable. And a staff with some of the nicest and most accommodating people on the planet: Skylar, Tamia, Devonte, Theresa, and Theresa (yes, there are two, but check my spelling…it’s my middle name and that’s how I spell mine…apologies ladies if I misspelled your names)! (Note: Houston, work on introducing rib tips—not a brisket girl—it’s a bit tough for my taste, also better pizza—Chicago or EVEN New York style, and Chinese cuisine (yeah, I’m serious!)) In the meantime – Pearl Marketplace at Midtown, Houston, TX. Just move in! We can work on the cuisine later! Mic drop!
