Update: Came back after the owner requested I call him, and offered me an opportunity to try their menu items again. Everything wasn't only perfect this time, but I highly recommend this establishment because not only do they care about customer experience, they care about making it better. I attached a picture of my order, it was amazing and will definitely be coming again! Shout out to Jenny for making the experience worth while and the owner, for having me and appreciating my feedback.
Update: very different experience coming back for my second time. The staff seem to not know their own menu items and I was curious to know how some of their waffle fixings were pronounced and they had no idea, they just called it regular waffle or Belgian waffle with x on it. There was a line of at least six people while both of them were preparing for the first order that they have taken, I understand being slammed but I do think that if the barista was a bit more skilled he wouldn't have had to steam his milk twice and burn the milk, which was vividly clear from what I could hear. As a professional barista and someone with a history of managing, I was pretty disappointed at how everything was handled. I think there is a more efficient way to handle lines and a quicker way to make coffees if you do know how to make them in the first place. They have a great machine, so I'm surprised that they don't have somebody that skilled using it. I'm quite disappointed as I waited 20 minutes to receive my waffle. It was very doughy, split in half. I was expecting a more traditional Belgian Waffle experience. The first one I had was perfect so I'm unsure what happened here.
I had 15 minutes to spare before my bus came so I decided to visit the Lyric Market for the first time, I wanted something warm because it's getting chilly outside so I ordered a mocha and I was curious about their waffles so I was going to get a plain waffle but I was press for time (no pun intended). I let Joel know and he was amazing, not only did he get me a waffle ready quickly but he gave it to me complimentary and invited me to come back again. 11/10 for...

It doesnāt matter if youāre looking for sweet, savory or spicy - youāre gonna find plenty of unique tastes to try! The last time I went I tried the blueberry with lemon curd - which was spectacular! It was sweet yet creamy and tart! The maple syrup was to die for! Just soooooo good! I also tried a maple bacon chicken & waffles! The chicken was so fresh and perfectly fried. The breading was perfection - crumbly and crisp - cooked to perfection!!! Weāve also had the spicy chicken and waffles and it is spectacular as well! Same superb breading that is light, crumbly and cooked just long enough to give it those crunchy pieces that crumble onto the waffles! Sweet & smoky spicy goodness! Itās a super chill, laid back, come and go seating layout that ranges from tables that can accommodate 4-6, to cozy little arm chair setups with a small bistro table in between, to window bar seats so you can sit individually and just watch the hustle & bustle of downtown Houston. Press Waffle Co. located downtown Houston is in the Lyric marketplace. First, donāt stress yourself out by finding parking in the downtown area when coming to eat. Thereās ample of parking in the Lyric marketplace building garage. Parking is free for 2 hours as long as you make a purchase and save your receipt. The receipt has a QR code which you need to scan when exiting the parking garage. Press Waffle shares the same space (booth) as Starbucks and hence, their menus are right beside each other. Now to the food, I had the Waffle cereal and it was fantastic! Due to the waffle having a slight deeper pocket (essence of Belgian) it soaks in the house whipped cream, syrup and toppings. I had taste bites of cereal milk with the warmth of the waffle, whipped cream and cinnamon toast cereal. It was not overtly sweet and it complemented my iced coffee with no additional sweetener. My husband had the waffles Nashville hot with chicken strips and breakfast bomb (waffle sandwich with sausage and egg). Both of them are on the savory side with flavors just right. My husband stated that the Nashville hot was a tad bit hot for him but it was okay for meā¦. Overall, this is a good place to satisfy a waffle craving! Sharing a picture of my gooey waffle...
