Mattress Firm Hutchinson — Hotel in Hutchinson

After sleeping on the same innerspring mattress for 15 years my husband and I decided to take the plunge and buy a new one. We visited several establishments in the Hutchinson area and read many online reviews about mattress types before deciding on Mattress Firm. When we went in Joshua was very helpful. He asked us about our preferences and habits and pointed out a few to try. With each bed we tried he asked us about our opinion on comfort level of the bed in case another mattress would meet our needs better. I have to admit, we went into the store planning to buy a hybrid, memory foam and inner springs (based on online reviews). Joshua spent at least an hour with us, making sure we were comfortable with our choice. The buying process was very quick and Josh thoroughly went through the comfort guarantee and all costs associated with the beds. The mattresses we wanted were not in stock locally but the warehouse in Kansas City had them. The frames were available the day after in Wichita. Joshua actually drove several hours to KC and picked up the mattresses for us that night!! The following day we went to Wichita to get the frames and we had the beds set up very quickly.

After sleeping on the bed for a few nights my husband and I both decided the mattresses were too firm (split King). We talked to Joshua and he gave us some tips on breaking them down a bit faster to make sure we needed to switch them out. After trying his tips we decided we still needed something softer. Back to the store we went. Joshua was working that day and he spent another hour with us making sure our replacement mattress would meet our needs. Note - I don't think Joshua was at fault for our choosing the wrong mattresses, I think I was predisposed to buying one particular mattress based on reviews from other people. Bad idea, I won't do that again. We haven't received the new ones yet but they were ordered tonight and we are looking forward to getting them!

Joshua was honest about the negatives and positives on each bed and was extremely knowledgeable on the composition and materials in each mattress.

The conspiracy theory about this place being nothing but a front for money laundering seems to be confirmed for me. The wife and I went into the store because we actually wanted to purchase a new mattress. We walked around the store for about 5 minutes and during that time not a single sales person was seen. So since they obviously didn't want or need our business we went to Mattress Hub on the corner of 30th and main and purchased our new king size mattress. Edit: a month after posting this, someone from the store messaged me, saying..." I'm truly sorry to hear about your recent experience, Lyle. It's disappointing to know that you and your wife were not given the attention and service you deserved during your visit. Buyer beware of this company and this store! I purchased a bed not even a year ago and was told it has 10 year warranty. It fell apart within 6 months. Got the approval letter saying warranty would cover the bed. Now I find out at this store that there is a $100 delivery fee. I tell him I will pick up the new mattress and no they won't allow that. They have to inspect the old one. I said I could bring in the old one nope that isn't allowed! I was also in the store yesterday and had told them took this mattress to the dump and they said had to go get it to have warranty cover it. You would think they would have said there is also $100 redelivery fee and a 10% fee for getting the other mattress. Yea awesome warranty this company has!! Don't waste your money...
