THIS IS A REPOST FROM A FRIEND ON FACEBOOK WHO SHARED HER EXPERIENCE WITH US ALL.
"I will NEVER go to the ihop in Hutchinson again. I’m a server so I can be extremely understanding when it comes to things. However, I’ll tell you all what happened. My best friend and I decided we wanted breakfast for supper. So ihop we went. We get there and we had two different people try to find a seat for us (half the store was empty). Then they finally found a table for us. We went and sat down. Ordered two waters to drink and she took our food order as well. Not a big deal so far. Then I noticed 10-15 minutes letter we did not have our waters. My friend noticed as well. I kinda looked around to find our waitress. She was standing in IHOP’s kitchen area. She then proceeded to get a soda or tea for a different table. As she was walking back she smiled at me. I was assuming we would get our waters next. I was wrong. We then waited another 10 minutes or so for our waters. A different waitress brought us our waters and asked if we had gotten our order taken we said yes. Our original waitress came to our table and said it would be two more minutes, waiting on waffles. We were understanding and said okay no problem. We continued to wait another 15 minutes for our food that was supposed to be 2 minutes. We were so irritated we left without receiving our food or a visit from a manager.
If they would have been busy or during dinner rush I would have understood more. There’s no reason customers should wait 20 minutes for waters. Or an hour for some pancakes and waffles 🙄 like I said I’m a server so I understand some times things just happen. Mistakes happen. But to this degree at a pancake joint. No. I have had multiple problems at this ihop and I will not be taking my money there any longer. A table sitting beside us had been sitting there longer with a crying baby and a toddler. One of the moms went to their kitchen area and pulled her food and took it to her table. I’m thinking we should have done that. Sorry IHOP but you...
Read moreThe food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful had a brand new waitress the last visit she was very nervous and was doing everything she could to make our dining experience wonderful right as she brought our check I told her that she was doing a wonderful job and she. Blushed and said thank you ma’am tearing up and I said first day? She said yes is it that obvious I said no I just waited tables for years when I was young and let me leave you with a few words of advice the other servers that are back there reminding you that you haven’t checked coffee refills on table six for fifteen minutes and that was no way to get good tips she looked at me I said yes we can hear them but you are the one that we smile upon because as the customers out here we can see that the patrons of table six are not even having coffee and you have refilled the coffee on all the tables in this section repeatedly and even crossed to the other section when a customer noticing you with the coffee pot whistled and held his cup up pleadingly and instead of getting a thanks you were loudly informed that wasn’t your section and had better not be expecting any share of any tips left there and you never said one word back but graciously walked away and kept on doing your job smiling and yes everyone here recognizes that you are a one in a million and as I was almost to my car this wonderful young woman came running out ma’am excuse me ma’am did you realize that this was a $100 and not a $1 or a $10 I said well thank you that was very kind of you come here please where I handed her another bill and took the one she needed me to reclaim and quickly drove away she had just tucked that into her pocket I smile when I imagine what she thought when she finally had time to open the very tightly folded bill I gave her in replacement and found 3 $100 bills hopefully she had a chance to use some of that money on herself she earned and...
Read moreWe went after the earlier church survive. We had 2 adults and a one year old. We got there about 10:45. We were seated right away with no wait. It was decently busy, but there were lots of empty tables. We knew it was going to take a little longer, we expected this. After we were seated it took 5 minutes before our waitress came over. It happens, we weren’t mad. We got drinks and it was roughly 11:00 before we ordered. Our daughter was hungry and was a little cranky. They seated a person next to us about the time we ordered. They promptly got his order in and he got his food, a to go order, and paid before we got our food. While we waited our 30 minutes our waitress ignored us completely. She didn’t ask if we needed refills (we had almost 2 empty cups), she didn’t update us on our food, didn’t apologize for the wait, didn’t ask if we needed anything. Our daughter started throwing a fit. She is 1 and had been just sitting for 45 minutes at this point. Finally at around 11:30 we got our food. Our waitress said “I’m sorry. Our morning cooks are slow with afternoon food.” We both ordered lunch, but we got our daughter a breakfast plate. Had anybody told us that in our 30 minute wait, we would have been okay. And we could have requested that our daughter’s food came out before ours so that we can begin feeding her. They had multiple to go orders out as we waited. The manager paced around but didn’t acknowledge us or really anybody. After we got our food, our waitress took forever to get our check and didn’t offer a to go box or any refills during our meal. It took another 10 minutes to just pay and leave. They were rude, slow, unprofessional and...
