Overall, I enjoy going to B&B theaters. I used to live in Kansas City, where Iāve seen countless movies in both Shawnee and Overland Park. B&B is a great company so you wonāt get me refusing to acknowledge that. So, the B&B Hutchinson Mall 8? Well⦠ever since moving down here last summer, Iāve made a handful of visits and while the movies themselves were entertaining, I havenāt been to thrilled with the experience before the movie starts⦠that is if the staff even remember to turn the movie on! On more than a couple occasions, we have sat patiently in the theater waiting for it to turn on only to have about 20 minutes go by with not even any advertisements. In the theaters up in KC, this has never been an issue. I am aware that a small town like Hutchinson doesnāt have the population or attendance that KC has to consistently fill up a theater, but when I walk out to ask the staff to start it, Iād at least like them to know Iām there. They sold me the tickets after all, right? Tonight, I wasnāt the only theater to have this issue as another lady asked if they forgot about her as well. This isnāt great customer service in helping us enjoy the magic of the movies. I know this place can do better, so hopefully next time theyāll also play the movie trailers before the actual movie starts. Some of us actually get a thrill seeing whatās coming soon. It keeps us excited to come back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs this was the first time I had been back to this theater since the remodel, I really liked it going into it. The decor is nice, and the seats are super comfy! Now if only the management could be better. Getting to my movie with my parents, the entire front half of the movie theater was nothing but teenagers and twelve year-olds that probably should not have been there without an adult as it was a PG-13 movie, Rings. They kept getting up in giant groups and running back and forth to the snack counter, running back and then deciding, during the movie that it would be a great idea to just start chatting away loudly. One lady went out and complained, so the usher came in and told them to be quiet, which lasted for about five minutes after he left. When we complained after the movie we were told that 'if one more person had come out and complained they would have done something about it.' Why the hell should I have to miss parts of a movie that I PAID for, when you shouldn't have let that many unsupervised CHILDREN into a theater in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy two disabled grandsons and their mother love going to B&B Theater and because they are homeschooled we take advantage of the Tuesday specials. I am always happy to drop them off and pick them up. Yesterday, 6/17, there was a downpour when I went to pick them up and as I pulled up to the curb a staff member motioned for me to keep going and not do that. Yes, I know this is a fire lane, but I'm not going to sit there and block a fire truck. I have seen numerous people drop off people and pick them up in front of the theater, especially in bad weather. This was a downpour. I think if you are going to single out who can, and cannot, do that, then you need to have signs posted so nobody can do it. Fair is fair. I also think for extreme downpours like yesterday, you can make an exception so people are not sitting through the movie soaking wet. If someone abandons their car in front of the theater, than please tow it. But to pull up and load and unload passengers, in a downpour, that is not a huge deal. Common sense should...
