On a whim, hungry, wanting to try something different...I'm staying across the road from Krico's at the Homewood Suites. The walk was just 2-3 minutes, and I was trying to catch happy hour. I arrived at 6:40pm, order two drinks immediately, a Colombian beer called Poker and a house made Limão Caipirinha at the suggestion of Ariana who just never stops smiling and checking on her customers. I also quickly decided to order the "La Trufa Burger" at her recommendation. With that, I also had fries and the pineapple-passion sauce. When I say literally EVERYTHING I HAD was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely wonderful. Never had a Colombian beer before, just fantastic. The best way I can describe the Limão Caipirinha is the best rocks margarita you've ever had with Brazilian rum instead of tequila, Ariana made it right in front of me, and it was so hard not to order another. The star of the show was easily the La Trufa Burger. I don't know what all they put on it, but my best guess is magic onions stewed in a delicate and mild peppery sauce I can't begin to describe, smothered in sauteed mushrooms and covered in melty swiss cheese all on a perfectly medium chargrilled beef patty. All that on what I have to assume is a house made bun, as I've never seen a bun that size anywhere else, plus the Krico's logo branded right there on top. So big, my 6'1" 295# self had to cut it in half to demolish the entire thing. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned, paired with the pineapple-passion dipping sauce, when I say you won't need ketchup or whatever else you prefer, I mean it! I'm in town for another night and will certainly be going back for seconds.
TLDR: Everything is amazing, service, staff, wait time. Ask for Ariana. Try the La Trufa Burger and the...
Read moreService could be better. The workers are nice, but management should at least ensure the workers understand what is on the menu. We tried explaining to the server what we ordered and we repeated salmon maybe five times while she just repeated "salmon?" Back at us with a confused apologetic look before I stood up got a menu from the front and pointed at the dish "Encocado de Salmon y Cameron" (which is fantastic by the way. Perfectly cooked salmon and shrimp with the most delicious sauce)
The La Gaucha was delicious. The pichana was perfectly cooked. Be sure to actually ask for a steak knife. We struggled with a butter knife thinking maybe they didnt have steak knives before accidentally knocking some sauce off of the table while the workers fussed and brought us replacements for what we spilled. It wasn't until another server asked how everything was and we mentioned it was a shame they didn't have steak knives that they went oh! Yes! And brought some out.
Patacones were perfectly cooked and fantastic same goes for yucca fries
Coleslaw wasn't very flavorful just veggies soaked in watery mayo LOTS of mayo. Truffle fries are overwhelmingly truffley. Arepitas are a bit dry...
Read moreI was in the mood for pasta and we happened on Krico's so came to check it out! They must still be figuring out their menu because many of the recommendations I saw in other reviews were not available on the menu. The Brussels sprouts were by far our favorite item. They were roasted to perfection and came out still bubbling in their sauce. My husband really enjoyed his pizza. I do not normally care for pizza but tried a bite, and admit, it was better than most. Not at all greasy and not heavy on the sauce (which is my personal preference). I cannot however recommend the chicken picatta at all. I was starving so I ate it but was almost ill. I recognize that it is made with a lemon butter sauce, but it was like eating a raw lemon. Very overwhelming. It was sour and I had to eat a bite and food and a bite of bread simultaneously to make it tolerable. Would not order that dish again but we would definitely eat here again and try another item. Vibe is nice - casual while still being nice for...
