This was supposed to be an awesome vacation for my wife's retirement. We booked in advance and saw that it was a hotel no where did it say it was a empty hotel. It's more like a landmark location inside the Truman Annex, with a few rooms to let. We arrived at 4:05 pm to find the place locked with instructions to walk to the Opal House only to find out it was the Opal Resort which was a walk away once you drive into this gated community. Not what you expect after a long drive, a scavenger hunt. This place has someone on site in the morning for a while with a very limited Continental breakfast. It's not like a typical hotel and the rooms are like a bedroom rental from a Airbnb. I prefer Bed and Breakfast houses when there is someone around to communicate, this isn't that. We enjoyed our stay because we had already booked it and the pool was tiny and filthy, not like the broucher. I wouldn't come again but to each their own.

The inn’s location is just about all it has going for it. Our mattress needs to be replaced immediately as it bows in the middle, there is mold in the shower and near all the A/C vents (plus lots of dust), the phone in the room didn’t work, the rooms aren’t that dark at night, breakfast is quite basic, and other guests loudly come in and out at all hours of the night, waking us up several times. Perhaps the worst part was one particular staff member who we had the displeasure of dealing with for almost our entire stay. She refused to greet us, scolded us repeatedly like children for even whispering quietly downstairs at breakfast, and proceeded to consistently be rude to us during every interaction. Ironically, she was the most unpleasant person we encountered in Key West - everyone else was nice, friendly, accommodating, and chatty. Would never stay here again, especially for the price paid.

We had the most wonderful last-minute getaway at the Weatherstation Inn in Key West and couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Tucked away in the beautiful, gated Truman Annex, the inn is peaceful, beautifully maintained and in a perfect location — we were able to walk to almost everything we wanted to see. We stayed in the Artisan Room, which was clean, cozy and full of natural light. Jen, who manages the building and front desk, was an absolute gem — so friendly, helpful and full of great local recommendations that really made our trip special. From the charming atmosphere to the unbeatable location and warm hospitality, this place is a true hidden gem. We can't wait for our next visit!

Where to start. First, I do not know how Weatherstation Inn gets these 5 Star review unless the 7 other rooms are not like the one we had stayed. Do not take the room on the 2nd level on the right. It was horrible. We had to move out because we had terrible allergies and could not get a good night sleep due to several issues (uncomfortable mattress and pillows, excessive noise from wall air conditioner, and dust/mold and smell of pee in the room). Several issues with that room. 1) They set the wall air conditioner to 69 Degrees and we found out why. If you set the air conditioner to 72 and up (because you are freezing) the room will smell like piss. 2) The wall air conditioner is so loud when it comes on that it will wake you up every time. Sounds like an airplane is on the top of the roof. Also, when it comes on it will be freezing but soon it will feel muggy again in the room. 3) Outside lights (mounted right outside your windows) stays on all night. So your room is not even remotely dark. 4) Area rug in the room needs serious cleaning or be replaced. It is extremely dirty from use (it does get vacuumed but looks like it never gets properly cleaned. It looks and feels very dirty). 5) The two upholstered chairs are also in dire need of proper cleaning. Also very dirty. 6) Accumulated dust on the blinds, outlets, vents and floor boards. 7) Pillows seem to be 5.00 $ specials from Walmart and used excessively. Also, the mattress needs to be replaced. We woke up every morning with back pains. 8) Pool looks dirty. 9) Mold in the bathroom and vents. 10) No Fridge or microwave in the rooms. 11) If you are on the 2nd floor you had to climb steep and many steps, which is a nuisance if you needed water or coffee or anything. 12) WIFI was horrible. In and out all the time and very very slow. 13) We had to leave early due to all these issues and rent a room in another vacation rental. 14) DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES. Location: Very good Service and Friendliness: Very good-I would give this Hotel room a 0 star but a five star review for the service and friendliness the lady at the reception provided. Breakfast: 3 Star. They did offer some baked goods, different granola bars, Yoghurt, and different oatmeal choices. Also coffee and bottled water was available any time you wanted. Safety: Very poor. The lady at the reception leaves at 4.00 pm and the doors to the outside on the main floor and upper floor are kept unlocked. So anyone can walk in and break...

I'm really not sure how to write this review. Our one night stay was our first in a B&B and the front desk person was so off-putting to my husband that he rushed us out before 8am stating if that is how B&Bs treat guests, we will skip the experience and stay in resorts.

My husband is a big man with a big voice (actually a bass singer) and was scolded for being too loud, and then for daring to touch a banana. Yes it was posted that breakfast was NOT self-serve but he didn't see it and had gone at my request to get coffee.

The evening before, I was awakened at 10pm by people coming in from the evening's revelry but there was no one there to tell them they were being too loud and disturbing US.

I think the woman could have handled it with more decorum and understanding. Thanks to her, I will not get to try a B&B experience again. As a result of my husband's toot to leave, I could not find my mask. When I presented the keys to her, she more or less pointed to the corner of the desk and shooed me off without so much as a thank you for staying.

Two stars for the cleanliness and comfort of the room, despite how cramped it was for the price. Minus 3 for the distasteful and snotty way we were treated by the front desk. I honestly have never been treated so poorly after spending...

This was our worst motel stay ever. No close 2nd. We simply do not understand the good reviews. They do not have onsite management or security after hours. Someone broke into our room at around 1am. We had to chase the guy away. Luckily, he was unarmed. There are were NO security cameras. We specifically asked for permission to park at in the lot the day of checkout, since we would be gone until 5:30pm at Dry Tortugas. We were granted permission. No doubt about it. My wife and I both listened to the response on speaker phone and recorded the call. When we returned the next day after our cruise, our car was gone! The sign in their lot gave a different towing company. They were defiant about the towing and did not admit their error. Another place 1/4 mile away handles their management after hours. They were no help. After much aggravation, we retrieved our car and will NEVER return to this awful place! It is way too overpriced for what you get in our opinion. We agree with the reviews about walking up many steps, no elevator and few amenities, dirty pool and rooms. You could not pay us to stay here again. Note: We filed a Police Report and plan to sue this hotel. The reviews about the mattresses and bathroom mold are...
