United States Postal Service — Local services in Key West

This is the worst post office I never went! All the post offices I went were very nice, and workers were very friendly and helpful, expect this one! I got there at 4:45 pm with a Russian old lady who was lost. She asked help, and I took her to this post office. She couldn't speak English well. The worker named Debby( I saw her name tag)was very impatient to her. The Russian old lady wanted to send cards to her family, and asked to buy some envelopes. Debby told Russian old lady that all the envelopes were on the shelf. It definitely was a lie, because there were only big envelopes on the shelf. The Russian old lady asked Debby many times she just needed small envelops for cards, but the answers were the same. Debby was too lazy to find regular, normal and small for this Russian old lady. It was a very very misleading thing to do! I didn't know if this Russian old lady sent cards for her family. The story got worse. Debby told me she could start my shipping. I told her I had not finished my forms. I had tow international shipping forms to fill, and I finished one. I tried to write my the other card quickly, but Debby told me "you can't write a "letter" on your card! It takes too long! I can't send your the other card. Go home, finish it, and come back tomorrow!" A letter? I just wanted to write wishes to my parents, and it was less than five sentences! It was OK that she didn't understand my language, and she thought it was too long. However I got post office at 4:45pm, it still opened. It would be different if I got post office at 5pm. I almost finished my second card, and then she told me she couldn't send my card, and they closed. I argued with Debby how she could kick me out when I came here before they closed! I asked to speak with other worker. It was surprised me she said" it doesn't matter who you talk with, I can't send your card, and I won't get trouble!" And other worker said" I have been worked here since 8am. I'm not here for waiting for you!" Wow! Waiting for me? I think they get something wrong here! They work here, post office pay them. This is their job to help people send their letters. I appreciate post office workers' hard work. It can be a frustrating job, but how can she kick out customer like this! Unbelievable!!! It was 5:06pm when I got out of post office. I checked my phone. They worked really hard to get home early! I can tell they really don't enjoy working there. However when they work there, it is their job to help people. I'm having blessing at Key West. People are very nice, but not in this...

Haha, I also agree....reviewing post offices? Nothing is exempt from the world of reviews! I was looking for times open and saw this, I like riches review. Seriously, been living here along time......the carriers on this island are amazing, I have laughed out loud more times in that post office by jokes told by a lady who just retired and also stupid stuff people do. If you are expecting chickens, crazy people, government employees trying to do what they can and people from other country's trying to figure out how to mail a post card then your in the key west post office.......if your looking for perfection and stuff not to get lost , you are in a reality not lived in key west. If this makes ya made, have a local Rum, check out sunset and go talk to anyone and you will loose reality and become a happy...

I have a good experience when I go to the post offices in Key West, I guess because I dont expect quick service. When I have questions about the best way to send my products, theyre always up for researching to check for me. They have saved me many times from overpaying. The lines can be long here if you pick the wrong time. Everyone seems to go during lunch and expect quick service because their time is limited, so seeing a long line can be frustrating, but I think the workers, for the most part, know what they're doing and work really quickly to get it done. I also know that when people are standing in line huffing and puffing and giving the 1 worker dirty looks like that'll make them move faster only mess with their moods and energy to...
