My reason for the low rating was because of the server. If I knew I was going to be treated like the way we were, I would've never stepped foot in here.

We decided to try First Flight as we were making our way back to our cruise ship. We were thinking this would be an awesome place to relax, cool down with some cold drinks and fill up on some delicious food.

We waited a few seconds at the hostess station due to no one being there. A woman then comes out of the bar asking if we had reservations. We said no and we asked if we should make one. She did tell us a reservation was not needed. The place wasn't busy so I was surprised we needed a reservation. She then sat us and provided us menus.

Our server comes over within a few seconds after being seated asking if we wanted some drinks from the bar. We told him not at the moment because we hadn't had a chance to view the menu. He became irritated by this. We opted for a couple of pretzels for the table. He was filing our glasses with iced water and making a mess on the floor and table by over filing the glasses. Maybe the ice and water on the floor is for the chickens. He then comes back to check on us to get our food order and we wanted a few beers. He seemed irritated that we now wanted drinks from the bar. He took our food/drink order. A few moments later our apps came out with our beers. The food came out shortly after that.

We were a party of seven so we shared a couple of pretzels. Some of us ordered some jerk chicken sandwiches, the tuna steak, and the brewery burger. The side pasta salads that came with the sandwiches can be a meal on its own. The serving was huge. I had no complaints from my kids about their food. The food and pretzels were delicious. The pretzels were some of the best I have ever had. The cheese sauce that comes with the pretzel was on another level!

I'm not sure if our server was having a bad day but he seemed bothered as if we were an inconvenience to him. We even asked about the chickens that were roaming in the restaurant and that set him off. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was...

Welcome to the twilight zone… But really, this was an experience that we won’t soon forget.

After wrapping up an awesome time going on a sunset sail and even spotting some dolphins in the bay we decided to give this place a shot as its reviews were decent and the menu didn’t sound half bad. We made our way to this restaurant and were properly greeted by the hostess who sat us at a table on the patio, about 10 minutes later our waiter came by and introduced himself, we had a short chat about the items on the menu and placed our order for 2 meals and a single bottle of the key lime cider (which sounded intriguing). In a very deja vu moment, about 15 minutes later the same waiter came by asking if we had already been helped, being rather confused we explained to him that he had helped us about 15 minutes prior and re-stated our order, which he actually wrote down this time. As we sat at our table waiting for the food, another 10 or so minutes went by and in what seemed like a scene straight out of Super Troopers, the waiter had for the third time come back to take our order, then about 5 minutes later he brought out a bottle of Heineken, which we said we hadn’t ordered so he appeared to give it to the table next to ours free of charge, then finally, another 5 or so minutes later he brought us 2 straws to go with the waters that had at this point been on our table with nothing else for over a half hour, then another 10 or so minutes later he came back and took back the straws which we hadn’t unwrapped yet. Needless to say, we hung around until the 1 hour mark and made our way out of the restaurant without getting any food, as we were leaving we asked the hostess to speak to a manager, but were told that there wasn’t one on duty. For all we know the food here could be amazing, or it could not, but we weren’t able to tolerate the service long enough to find out. While I sincerely hope that the waiter was in some way inebriated and this wasn’t his day to day life, our experience at this restaurant was by no means acceptable, earning First Flight this 1...

I understand that everyone has their own experience, but if you choose to dine there, I hope it goes better than it did for us. Good luck! When we arrived, the hostess seemed unhappy and it was reflected in her attitude. While I understand nobody wants to work on Christmas, at the very least, she could have pretended to be happy. After we were seated, it took a while for the server to come over and take our drink order. It took an unusually long time for our drinks to arrive. It was so long that another server came over and asked if we wanted to place an order with him. We should have taken him up on it. When our server finally came, we ordered. We started with the diver scallops and deviled eggs for appetizers. There were only two small scallops in the bowl, which were okay and the chorizo-pesto risotto/sweet corn salsa was very good. The deviled eggs were greasy and tasteless, and they came with deep-fried peppers. One of the burgers came out burnt, and the other was missing items we had requested. The chicken fingers were extremely dry. However, the seared tuna was very good. The server was absent for around 25 minutes, so we couldn't tell her about the food or the fact that we needed more drinks. When she finally returned, she was surprised we hadn't eaten much, and I asked her to take the food away. They did remove one meal from the bill, but that wasn't the point since we were still hungry. Please keep in mind that our reservation was at 4:15 pm. The entire situation could have been avoided if she would have just been more attentive. The place was not busy and I don’t think she even had another table yet. We just picked the...

The location and history of this place is what you go here for. It's cool to see what they have done with the first Pan America ticket place by turning it into a restaurant. The atmosphere is in the back yard of a house it seems like and there are even chickens running around like you would expect in Cuba. It's honestly really cool. Also, I have to say, the staff here was polite, courteous, and welcoming. I have nothing bad to really say about this. Here is the part where it falls short. I should have taken pictures, but I ordered the $38 swordfish which presentation wise looked great. However, it did not taste great at all. It was bland and seemed as if it might have been frozen previously. It had a certain refrigerator or freezer taste in once section and was cooked warm enough. However, the water content in it may be because it was thawed and then cooked. Even if this is not the case, the fish was very bland, with little to no flavor, and had to be over salted. It comes with Avocado Jasmine rice which was actually way tastier than the fish. If it were possible to just have that, it would have been a better meal. My girlfriend bought the brisket macaroni and cheese and the color of it looked like it wasn't going to be good. Sadly, it wasn't great, but it was better than my swordfish. If eating here, I wouldn't suggest going for pricey stuff and stick to the more simple stuff such as fries, burgers, and other not complicated entrees. Lastly, the gift shop is pretty cool. they have a lot of cool things in there that are really awesome looking. Do not come here expecting top quality food. Come for the ambience and pleasantness.

First Flight in Key West delivered an exceptional experience for our banquet of thirty attorneys. From the planning stage through the end of the evening, everything was handled with professionalism, warmth, and incredible attention to detail. Justin and Brittanie were fantastic to work with—responsive, organized, and truly invested in making our event a success. The service throughout the night was top-notch. The staff was plentiful, attentive, and well-coordinated, which made the entire evening feel seamless. It’s rare to see that level of care and staffing at a group event of this size. The space was beautiful and one of the only venues in town with optional covered outdoor seating—an essential backup in case of weather issues. One of the most impressive aspects was the dinner service. Rather than the typical buffet or pre-selected meals, we were able to offer our guests a menu with full table service—no advance orders required. For a group of thirty, that kind of flexibility and execution is nearly unheard of. The food arrived quickly, was beautifully prepared, and consistently delicious across the board. Guests raved about the quality. The drinks were also excellent—creative cocktails and a well-stocked bar that kept everyone happy throughout the evening. While there are plenty of beautiful venues in Key West, First Flight stood out not just for its charm, but for how smoothly everything was handled. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for anyone planning a large group event. The team made it feel effortless—and that’s the mark of a truly well-run operation.
