Read moreFirst time at XO Coffee...Interesting concept of a coffee shop and a tattoo shop in one, that's for sure. It felt a bit "rundown", needed to be cleaned up a bit and maybe look more welcoming. Had a very liberal feeling to it, between the ambiance, menu, and people, it felt kind of stuffy to me. Coffee was okay, very sweet, reminded me of a Starbucks style coffee where it's more syrup and sugar than actual coffee. Got the acai bowl to eat; taste was okay, I could tell it had been thawed out and refrozen and there was WAY MORE granola than acai. For $13 I would have thought more acai and fruit, less granola.
Employees were very nice, helpful, and polite. Was told they were currently out of bowls but that they would put my acai in a cup. That was perfectly fine with me, not a big deal. Staff was very apologetic, and the gentleman in the back said he would try to make it as pretty as possible, which I thought was really nice of him to say. I think this is more of a "If this is your type of place", than a good COFFEE shop. Since this isn't really my type of place, I probably will not return. Best thing about the place was the employees. The three employees I came in contact with, or spoke with, were all fantastic. Very much...
Read moreThis was genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a coffee shop, and I’m still baffled by the level of indifference, disorganization, and overall poor quality.
We visited this place expecting a relaxing stop for a quick bite and coffee. Instead, we waited almost a full hour—yes, nearly 60 minutes—for a single bagel. Not a custom order, not a complicated dish, just a regular bagel with cream cheese. Throughout this absurd wait, we weren’t the only ones. Nearly everyone around us was clearly frustrated, waiting long stretches for basic orders.
There was no apology, no explanation, and absolutely zero effort to resolve the situation.
When the bagel finally arrived, it was laughably bad. Dry, tough, and clearly not fresh. The cream cheese? Not even house-made or spread on—just one of those generic pre-packaged cups, the same kind you get at Starbucks or buy in bulk at Costco, and YOU have to add to the bagel yourself. For a place that presents itself with a certain aesthetic or atmosphere, this was just lazy.
What made it worse was the total lack of accountability from the staff. No acknowledgment of the wait, no offer to make things right, no sign that they cared in the slightest about the...
