Let me preface this by mentioning that I gave this place TWO opportunities to give me a decent impression. But both times I was let down. Lets start with the first time.
The first time, I had attempted to order a tenders combo and a chicken sandwich combo through Uber Eats. The Uber driver called me to let me know that once they got there, the employee informed them that the tenders were out of stock. Why did it take the driver arriving all the way there to notify me of a missing product? Why couldn’t the Popeyes employees contact me directly instead of wasting me and my drivers time? No worries I no guess, must be a fluke or something. My order was cancelled and I was informed to place a new order which I do so. But this time, the restaurant cancelled my order after I attempted to order a 4 piece chicken combo instead. OKAY BUDDY, IF YOU DONT HAVE THAT TOO, WHY COULDNT YOU JUST TELL ME YOU ONLY HAVE CHICKEN SANDWICHES? Popeyes sells 3 main chicken items, tenders, sandwiches, and regular chicken. IF THE STORE IS MISSING 2 OF THE 3, THEN SAY WHAT YOU HAVE INSTEAD OF MAKING ME GO THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR AND WASTING MY TIME TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU DONT HAVE. I gave up on Popeyes that day for this whole thing experience wasted me about 45 minutes of time.
So let’s talk about part 2. This time, a couple of days later, I ordered a tenders combo and a sandwich combo again and surprise surprise, the same behavior once again. My extremely kind driver arrives and patiently tries to settle the same type of issue again, in which the Popeyes employee notifies her ONLY as she ARRIVED that they do not have chicken sandwiches. Okay cool, no problem. They said they’ll replace the chicken sandwich with something else. That works right? No. Because upon arrival, the mashed potato’s I ordered with my tenders combo was turned into fries instead, and the two sauces I ordered with my tenders? Also non-existent. Thanks, I’ll just eat my fried chicken dry I guess. So moving onto the replacement item for the chicken sandwich that they didn’t know have in stock: they replaced it with the same tenders combo order per my request, except it ALSO came with fries and no sauce. But here’s the kicker: I chose sprite with the chicken sandwich combo I originally ordered (but was told that it was out of stock), but instead of giving my replacement for that order a sprite, they gave me coke??? There’s no way these employees are this mindless… right? Naturally, one would assume that since if item is getting replaced because it’s out of stock, the choice of soda should still remain the same… right? There’s no way this place is still open and fulfills Popeye’s franchise standards. Shut this place down and lay off these brain...
Read moreI wish we had taken the time to read other reviews before we made the order. I’d give 0 star if the option is available, and I hope my review will help other customers and travelers avoid a terrible experience that could potentially ruin your day.
My family is on vacation at Orlando, and this afternoon we ordered to pickup from this Popeyes location on our way back to a nearby hotel.
As I was driving, my wife made an order on the phone app. And we planned to pick up drive-through. There was a trash bin in the center of the drive-thru lane, and the com system/electronic menu screen wasn’t working (1st Red Flag). I’m generally a patient person, so waited for 5 minutes at the drive-thru pickup window, until a staff member came and told me to enter the restaurant if order was made from app. (2nd Red Flag)
I then parked the car with wife and two hungry kids waiting, walked into the restaurant, and waited another 5 minutes to get the attention from one of the staff members at front. (Red flag #3) Told her about the order number and customer name, she asked for the content of order. I asked for some time to fiddle inside the app to find out details of the order as my wife made the order, and I took her phone to show the order. The lady told me order wasn’t showing up in the restaurant system.
Now I was double checking the app on my wife’s phone, and in the “recent” tab, the order showed up as “not available in this restaurant” despite credit card already charged and order # generated, which made the order appear to be placed successfully for app user.
The lady wasn’t talking to me anymore at that point, and I asked “May I replace the order as a walk-in instead?” She said no, because you will be doubled-charged. And she went directly to the next customer and pretended that I was not there anymore…yet there were only two customers waiting to order including me.
By this point, I was not in the mood of wasting my time from this place anymore, and walked straight outside. My lifetime worst experience ever at any fast-food chain.
Thinking back, I’d consider it a bless from God that we didn’t receive any food there. I would seriously question the chance of food being prepared properly with such horrible level of mismanagement and hostile attitude towards customers.
Generally, I would walk away if two red flags come up. unfortunately, we were tired from our trip, hungry, and not spending enough time to study other customers reviews led us to this horrible mistake.
Update: Popeyes did refund the order payment next day, after wife contacted in-app...
Read moreWe waited 1.5 hours for our dinner. Ordered my meal at 856 and didn’t get home (3 miles away) until 1035. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received at any fast food restaurant. There was zero communication (perhaps put a sign on the door and speaker warning of shortages and extra wait times and move customers with large orders out of the line???). We thought maybe employee shortage or chicken shortage was the culprit but when we finally pulled up to the window the following happened.
After finally getting to the window, they offered us the wrong orders. Told them the correct one and they shut the window and didn’t return for 20 minutes. Not only did they not return for 20 minutes, we watched the 6 employees (six!!! Clearly not a shortage of employees) working in the back. One person did the cooking. The rest stood around on their phones. No one prepped the boxes, no one prepped the sides, no one filled drinks, no one put biscuits in the box so that just the chicken needed to be added. Literally one person cooking and preparing all of the meals while everyone including green shirt (manager?) stood around played on their phones or stood around talking.
After finally getting home we discovered our 5 piece meal we purchased each contained 4 pieces. Not only that, there was zero flavor. Thinking I had covid again I tried the beans and coleslaw, and they tasted normal. So the one person running the entire restaurant didn’t add seasoning. Perhaps if the other 5 employees getting paid to stand around had helped there would’ve been some kind of flavor. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had, and I should’ve read the reviews beforehand because this is the resounding theme for this restaurant. This Popeyes is run by incompetent, lazy employees with...
