I had a horrible experience here on 3/9/18 and I will never be returning to this hotel nor will I recommend it to anyone - ever. I worked an 18 hour shift and I thought I was too exhausted to drive the hour trip home, so I called around to a handful of local hotels to find out information on staying the night. The man who answered the phone for this establishment seemed kind enough, and told me he had a two double room for $70. Every where else wanted over $100, so I figured, why not. I drove the few miles to the Days Inn and after struggling to find the entrance to the hotel, I finally arrived. I went to the front desk and the gentleman whom I spoke with on the phone set me up with a room on the 3rd and top floor. I rode the elevator upstairs, and the second the elevator opened there was a strong odor of skunk. I shrugged that off, not a dealbreaker but kind of annoying. I walked into my room and the first thing I noticed was how outdated the room was. It looked like a room straight out of the 1970’s. Again, not a deal breaker. I barely got settled in, did my business in the bathroom and changed into pjs (which took maybe 10 minutes) and then I did what everyone who has ever stayed in a cheap hotel knows to do - check the beds. I didn’t find anything out of the ordinary near the edges of the mattresses on either bed. Now, the bedsheets were set up so there was a flatsheet, a blanket, and then another flatsheet on top of the blanket. I went to pull back the blanket on one of the beds and I found a cigarette burn in one of the blankets. I then pulled back the blanket to look at the top flatsheet and noticed a stain on it. Then I walked over to the other bed furthest from the door and sat down and noticed there was cereal still left on the floor and as I did so I touched the side of the bed and the blanket on this bed was sticky - all of this in maybe 5 minutes. How did housekeeping not notice this? I gathered my things and came to the front desk. After standing there for another 5 minutes, the gentleman from before came back and I informed him of the situation and explained that I wasn’t one to complain, but that I wasn’t going to be able to comfortably stay here. He told me because it had been over 15 minutes, I could not receive a refund. At that point, I decided screw it, and just left. I ended up stopping at a gas station and buying a redbull and chugging it just so I could make it home. I have stayed in nicer $40 hotel rooms! Do not waste your time...
Read moreWe booked the room through Orbitz. We booked it as a roll in shower as the other person has a wheel chair. Check in was 3pm. We arrived at 2:50 pm. I had called that morning and spoke to a man that said he was at the hotel. I confirmed the roll in shower with him. By his voice when we arrived at 2:50 pm it was the same man. He said even though my print out showed a roll in shower, his from Orbitz did not show a roll in shower. He gave me a one page print out from Orbitz that did not show a roll in shower. The only problem was the print out was at least 2 pages! When I ask if I could get the second page printed out he said it wouldn't print. How convenient! The roll in shower was probably on the second page. Orbitz was great. It took about an hour but they found us a hotel with the roll in shower and I only paid the 65.00 I had originally booked for Days Inn. Orbitz paid the difference. Since the new hotel was the Candlewood suites and didn't have breakfast like Days Inn, Orbitz is supposedly reimbursing us for breakfast. We shall see. Back to Days Inn. The man I was working with at Days Inn, on Sunday, said he was the manager. One of the employees saw me while I was working with Orbitz and said they had given my room away an hour before we got there. That would have been around 2pm local time. We got there at 2:50 pm local time. Check in isn't until 3pm local time. INTERESTING. ORBITZ is supposedly giving me 75.00 in Orbit bucks for all the trouble as we had to switch some things due to the delay getting to the room. We shall see. If Orbitz comes through with everything like they say they will I will continue to book through them. Moral of the story. Becareful with Days Inn or their chain hotels. What you think you have you might not. I will be contacting Days Inn...
Read moreThis place was an absolute nightmare! If it had not been for the reason that most hotels were booked this weekend from college move-in, I would have kept on going down the road. The staff upon registering was rude and had zero personality. Parking was a joke and getting to the hotel was an even bigger issue. Directions were a mess. The trash container outside the hotel was so full it looked as if it hadn't been changed in a week...trash was on top of it. The elevators inside had smudged hand marks up and down the doors like it hadn't been cleaned either. We were put on the 3rd floor and the smell was of body odor and smoke as I'm sure I asked for a non-smoking room. Upon arrival to our room, there were stains on the carpet down the hall. Our room was nasty. The walls had coffee marks, the tub was dirty filled with hair and dirt along with a ring around the tub. I travel with Lyson and my own sheets and I am very glad. I was petrified to sleep in the beds! Breakfast the next morning was cereal and milk for me because if the hotel and rooms were this dirty, I could only imagine what the kitchen looked like. The trash can next to the food had dried up food and such all over the top of it as if it doesn't get cleaned either. I was simply disgusted at what I witnessed. Then when checking out, the clerk threw the key card on the table and not one time asked me how my stay was. The staff were rude and again had no personality. I would never again choose to stay in a place like this! Someone needs to either go in and upgrade this hotel and bring new workers in or shut it down!! This is a disgusting hotel!! If I had to choose this hotel or my car, it would be my...
