Myself, granddaughter and daughter checked into Studio 6 Hotel on Admiral King in Lake Charles on 9/3. Our home had been made uninhabitable by hurricane Ida. We were from St Charles Parrish which was hit hard. Finding a hotel was extremely difficult, the days prior we had camped as we could not find a room . We were happy to finally have a room an that they allowed dogs. The day after we arrived there was a knock on the door- it was housekeeping an we yelled that âwe were goodâ. There was not another knock so we thought they had heard. The dogs did bark briefly from the knock. Awhile later someone tried to actually open the door however the latch was fastened an it only opened a small bit. Shortly thereafter the phone in the room rang. We were told there was a report our dogs were alone in the room. I explained that we had been with our dogs constantly. The fact that we declined housekeeping was then brought up. I explained our situation that we had only arrived the evening prior, we were tired an really didnât need housekeeping. Was basically told it was not optional that they only do housekeeping certain days. I told the person ok but to give me a minute to get dressed which she said was fine. Only a minute or so later the phone rang once again saying no we didnât have to have housekeeping. Meanwhile my daughter who had went to get us dinner arrived back an we started eating. There was a knock on the door an a person who would only identify herself as âthe manager â and a male were outside our door. They were angry from the get go and I still donât understand why. They would not stop talking so we could get a sentence out. The male basically told us to stop speaking over the female. The female said when our door had been open earlier (keep in mind it was latched ) that our dog had charged her. Our dog is small however doesnât charge people an definitely would not have fit through the small space the door opened. She then went off about us not allowing them in the room. Despite numerous attempts to remind them that we had received that second call telling us we did not have to utilize the housekeeping services they just would not stop with their remarks about the dog charging an wanting in the room (which we had no issue with as I said I had told the person on the phone to just give me a minute to get dressed). We told them we would be calling corporate about their behavior an we were told we could call corporate, our lawyers or anybody we wanted. We were also told we needed to leave the hotel. When allowed to speak we attempted to remind them we had no home an finding a hotel was almost impossible due to the hurricane . I told them I expected a refund an was told we had 15 minutes to get our things an leave or we would be charged another day. We had paid over 900 dollars for this room for 4 nights in addition to another 200 for incidentals pertaining to having the two small dogs. This was not a FEMA voucher it was hard earned money I made working as a nurse at my local hospital. We asked the female numerous times for her name only to be told she was âthe manager â . Once our belongings were in our car I explained I wanted something showing we were being refunded for the remaining nights. She gave me a paper showing she refunded part of the pet fee an said the remaining I would get from Expedia. I again tried to explain to the âmanager â that we had no where to go, that finding another hotel would be difficult, that we had never left the dogs alone an had been told we were ok not having housekeeping . I had never known of anywhere that having housekeeping come in was a mandatory thing especially since we had not even been there 24 hrs. She then tries to tell me she never told us to leave that I requested a refund. This was the most bizarre encounter I think I have ever had with anyone. We had no where to go. My daughter is ill from recent chemo/radiation an didnât need the added stress of what we encountered at this hotel. My 11 yr old granddaughter had to deal with this unnecessary event. This woman put out three hurricane evacuees and we never really did understand why because nothing had happened to justify this type of behavior. It took several hours of looking online an calls to find somewhere else to stay and then driving a couple hours to get to another hotel. With the current situation in our state Iâm sure there will be many more evacuees as well as people coming to the state to help restore power an clean up that will be stopping at that hotel. I hope that there is never another customer whether they are coming in due to unfortunate circumstances as ourselves or just coming to vacation treated as we were today. The rest of the staff at the hotel were so courteous an some apologetic - it was simply this woman who would not give her name an the man she brought with her to our room in what seemed an attempt to intimidate us. No complaints with the room nor the other employees. My only complaint is how this female âmanager â and her male sidekick treated us. I have tried to figure out why they may have behaved in the manner they did . There was nothing we did that would call for making us leave. Please just be aware when booking at this hotel things might not be as they seem an at anytime an for no reason you might be made to leave . If they can do this during a time of natural disaster when there are supposedly rules in place they can do it to anyone at...

We booked 4 nights.I paid over 900 dollars as well as additional 200+ for pet fees. Our home was uninhabitable due to hurricane Ida. Finding a hotel had been almost impossible. We were happy when we arrived to a clean room. All was well until the next afternoon. Housekeeping knocked an we yelled âwe were goodâ. Awhile passed when someone tried opening door.We had the latch on so it didnât open very far.Shortly thereafter the room phone rang with person saying it was reported our dogs were alone in room. I told the person that we had been with our two dogs the entire time we had been there. The person then brought up us declining housekeeping. I explained we had only arrived the evening prior an didnât need housekeeping just wanted to relax. I was told that the housekeeping was not optional. I agreed to her request for housekeeping to come only asking that they give me a minute to dress which she said was fine.We quickly received a second call saying that no we did not have to have housekeeping. Meanwhile my daughter had arrived with our dinner an we started eating. This was short lived as there was a knock on door. There was a female an male outside our door. Not sure what caused them to be as agitated as they were but the female started talking and would hardly let us get a word in an when we tried her male accomplice (who I truly believe was brought in an attempt to intimidate two females) told us not to speak over this female. She was fixated on us not letting housekeeping in the room, saying when the door opened our dogs charged her. Now remember our door was latched- only opened a small space , our dogs are small no way would fit through that small space. Yes they barked as they thought someone was coming in the room.In addition to the constant rant about the dogs and housekeeping it also turned to our room needing to be inspected. During the little time we were allowed to speak I tried to remind her that after I had spoke to the person on the phone an was told we HAD to utilize housekeeping all was good an I was getting dressed until we got the second call saying no we didnât need to use housekeeping. Myself an my daughter asked for both their names and they both refused to give names the female only saying âIâm the managerâ. We told them we would be calling cooperate due to their behavior only to have âthe managerâ reply that we could call cooperate, our lawyers. anybody we wanted. She then said we needed to leave the hotel. I told her we wanted a refund an was told we were to be out in 15 minutes or she would charge us another day. We reminded her over and over we were evacuees our home was not livable and finding a new hotel would be extremely difficult. I let her know my daughter is not well as she completed chemo/radiation awhile back and side effects from her cancer treatment has made her ill . We desperately needed somewhere to stay. This female did not care. We quickly packed and loaded the car. I went back in an once again tried to talk to her reminding her we had no where to go . She then tells me she never ask us to leave I had requested a refund. This might be the most bizarre encounter I have ever had dealing with anyone in customer service. I still donât know what caused them to behave the way they did .I told the âmanagerâ I wanted something showing I was being refunded. Keep in mind I had spent over 1100 for four nights at this place. This was not FEMA money. She gave me a paper showing part of the pet fee being refunded. She said I would have to speak with Expedia about the remainder. After I didnât leave right away she told me she had spoke to Expedia about my partial room refund. Later that night I finally was able to speak with Expedia they told me they had no record of her contacting them an was showing I was still checked into the hotel. Expedia have a refund. We had to drive hours for a new...
Read moreI am literally in tears, the front desk attendant intentionally over charged my card. I am here on business not pleasure which means every cent counts. I am near 3 weeks in. I have a very nice life at home which means I work hard for my quality of living.. I finally passed the tuff times and welcomed the finer things in life after recovering from covid, I'm a nurse so there was no regret. I have been working with transmittable disease and viruses for 20+ years now. Losing friends and family has made my journey a very rewarding one as I get to help at least ine patient recovery and go home to their family. However, I took an a Travel assignment which causes nurses to trust Real estate agents and hotel/motel owners. This particular stay and front desk attendedants has been a very huge lesson. Due to their very short fuse and abrasive attitudes I will be sleeping in my car if absolutely necessary. Not because I didn't pay, not because I expected something for free. But simply due to their privilege to profile me (as an A.A. woman) and take advantage . They charged my card and took the allotment I had for lodging for planned dates.
Smh if you are single nurse and travel for work SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! DO NOT BOOK HERE. IT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING. I'M PRAYING I WILL BE SAFE. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. CONSCIENCE ABLE MIND AND BODIED HUMAN BEINGS TREAT US LIKE WE DO NOT DESERVE DECENT TREATMENT. I HAD TO BASICALLY BEG TO STAY 1 NIGHT IN A ROOM I WAS CHARGED FOR 2 NIGHTS.
THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. PEOPLE AND MORE SPECIFICALLY NURSES PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. YOU WILL...
