Well above average in comparison to the several other Tex-mex places in town. It’s more Mex than Tex, which I appreciate. I had pretty low expectations for this place because I’m not a fan of their sister restaurant, but I was pleasantly impressed. I would say this place can still appease people who like Mexican food but aren’t huge fans of the classic Tex-mex cuisine that floods our town.
house margs are 2 for 1 and well balanced. Well above average tacos are pretty good nice selection of sides to select menu selection good service plating
value, especially the queso 4% surcharge for using a credit card
I will be returning to try more of the menu.
*Update: revising to add a star after my second visit. This is now my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The tacos here are really good! The default salsa served with tacos is pretty good, but if you like it spicy then you’ll need to request the spicy salsa. They have a green and orange and both bring the...
Read moreOrdered food but menu was very confusing, the plate was great but rice was dry, also this is some what Mexican food, there’s some more Cuban or Dominican ppls food, I’d say. They sure play reggaeton full blast and make you feel that you’re in a club not a restaurant. The music played in all local areas is not Mexican, it just doesn’t go. Mexicans listen to Vicente Fernandez not bad bunny, big difference! You don’t want to be thinking of woman at the club with this music it’s musica de puta lol I mean if it was a club it’ll make sense but it’s not. It’s a restaurant to relax and eat a good plate. I felt very alternated and frustrated with bad bunny and Karol G music playing, they had it full blast where if you get a call ppl think you’re at a bar. Overall it was good just when you’re at a Mexican restaurant don’t forget what Mexican music is. Not doninicano or puertorican music. Big difference. Mariachi is a good start to think about....
Read moreThis was my second time here and the first wasn’t too bad but the second, my god it was horrible. Yes we did have a large party but they divided the party into 3 servers and the older curly hair guy with glasses is who we had, he got so overwhelmed so fast he completely stopped taking request, stopped listening to what we were asking for, stopped bringing drinks, and when I asked for my check he said we had to wait over 45 more min til everyone was finished eating, so on top of how hot it was in the restaurant we had to wait to even leave. Then the attitude he had when he was checking us out….., I never wanted to slap someone so badly, he slapped the card on the counter and threw the receipt down, we have already made the decision to not go back there again, cold over priced food and bad service, same goes for Nogal, they are both owned by the name people I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
