El Paso Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lake Charles

After being seated chips and salsa were delivered. Then it was some time before the server at the adjacent table inquired if we had been attended to, which we had not and the wait seemed lengthy before he came by. At that point we were ready to order our beverages and food. Upon our seating, there seemed to be ample staff present, but it must have been the shift leaving and the shift arriving. Possibly we were seated at the shift change, and for the majority of our meal, anyone bringing something to us was a different individual. It wasn't until we were finished, waiting a little while, before we were offered our check that the same person came by twice. Glad I had cash to be able to pay, I'd hate to think how much longer it would take to wait for a card to be processed. The food was adequate for what it was, decently prepared. The salsa for the chips was nice and spicy (hot); the food we ordered wasn't, but my son noticed an area acessible for waitstaff with all sorts of hot sauces, but there wasn't anyone around to offer it's availability nor by which to request. The service we experienced was disjointed. There is possibly the need for training and to my observations some involvement by management to make sure details are given attention. If the service we experienced is the norm, I don't think they'll last long; I'm sure they'll hear about...

DO NOT GO HERE. My family was hungry and wanted to try this restaurant, which was a bad decision. Right when you walk in there you are hit with an odor that is nauseating...tables and chairs weren't too clean either. One star for the salsa- our food came out in the span of 5 minuets and looked absolutely terrible. Isn't the food supposed to be sizzling? Shouldn't the plate be at least a little warm? We received ICE cold food that was barely cooked hidden under a mound of lettuce, burnt, stale nacho chips, chunky rice that was in a mush, fries stuck together in one clump, and the fried chicken seemed like it wasn't even fried. Looked and tasted like it was cooked at least 2 to 3 hours ago and left under a heat lamp. Service was bad as well. When the waiter brought out our food, his hands were touching the dinners as he placed it onto the table. This doesn't seem like a big issue to some people but to others, it's disgusting! We are going to eat that! I don't even know who was our assigned waiter because 3 different ones came and they all looked like they did NOT want to be there. We felt as if we were being a bother. We all left either hungry or feeling like we needed to puke. I wanted to like this restaurant but I couldn't. We will not be returning and I will not recommend this...

I just left the restaurant and it was the absolute worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The server allowed us to order and finish our meals and when we paid with our card he came back and said "I forgot to tell you guys earlier the machine is broken so you have to pay with cash". What? Why would you not tell us that before we order? We told him we didnt have paper cash on us and he said we had to go get some from the bank. My husband had to leave me at the restaurant to go to the atm to take cash out. I have never been or worked at a restaurant where this has happened. Other servers and I literally would have had to pay for a mistake like that out of our own paycheck. On top of this none of the servers were wearing masks and the restaurant was jam packed. Before anyone says well dont go to a restaurant, It didnt fill up until we received our meals other wise I wouldnt have eaten there. I have literally never written a negative restaurant review in my life and am very understanding of mishaps but this one was ridiculous. There was no apology, horrible...
