My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Las Vegas and we made every effort to see and do as much as possible while we were there. This included two nights at the Bellagio, two nights at the Wynn, one night at a cabin at the Grand Canyon and our last night at Circa downtown to experience Fremont Street. With that being said, Fremont Street was just not for us, but I will not let that affect my review of Circa.|We had a rental car and arrived to Garage Mahal just before 3pm on a Friday. There was ample parking available. There was also extremely loud music playing from what we thought was someone's vehicle, but turned out to be coming from the hotel itself. The atmosphere upon entering the hotel was just as loud. The casino at each hotel we had stayed at had music playing, but the volume level at Circa is on a whole different level. Like Fremont Street itself, Circa seems to be geared more towards a party crowd. There was no line at check-in and despite us being a little early, a room was available for us. The check-in agent asked if we had a room preference and I told her that we were fine anywhere, but would prefer a quieter room, so she indicated she would not put us on the pool side of the building. Like the other hotels we had stayed at in Vegas, this one seemed to be trying to be "smart" but unlike the other rooms we had stayed in, there was no signage or clear indication as to how we could use the smart devices or switches to control the different aspects of the room. I actually never did figure out how to just leave some, but not all the lights, on or off, or how to control the bedside lamps. There was also a floor lamp with an odd plug (almost like an aux cable) that had a matching outlet on the wall, but we discovered at the end of our stay was never plugged in. I question if the bedside lamps were the same? The bathroom had dual sinks and the mirrors over each had a light ring around them with a switch to turn them on, but neither worked. I know I'm being nitpicky, but the wastebasket in the bathroom is located behind the toilet, which is a distance from the vanities and inconvenient. There was a mini bar of facial soap at each vanity, as well as a small tube of lotion. Shampoo, conditioner and bodywash were in wall dispensers in the shower. There were two mini bottles of water in the room's mini fridge and nothing else. As with other Vegas rooms we encountered, there was no microwave or coffeemaker, but the empty mini fridge could certainly be nice if you want to bring your own drinks. Our view out the window was of the street and beyond that the highway, with city lights in the background. It wasn't anything special, but our room was quiet and that was most important to us. The casino is two floors and aside from signing up for Club One cards, we primarily stayed on the second floor, as we only play slots and the first floor has tables and is busier and louder than the first. We got dinner at Victory Burger and the food was good with big portions. You order at the counter, take a number plaque, seat yourself and they bring your food to your table when it's ready. Soda is self-serve. We looked at Saginaw's, which appears to be the same kind of set up, and we got breakfast sandwiches and coffees from Jack Pots in the morning. I asked if I could get an egg and cheese on a croissant instead of a roll and was told that wasn't possible as the sandwiches are prepared in advance and just heated up when ordered. I do wish there were other dining options in Circa (aside from Barry's) where you could sit down and be waited on, as opposed to the counter service options they have. Despite the party vibe in Circa, it is significantly less wild than Fremont Street and after discovering that Fremont Street really wasn't for me, I was relieved to return to the respite of Circa and felt content to stay within the hotel for the remainder of the night. We did walk Fremont Street twice and also walked into a couple other casinos and shopped in one of the stores before returning to Circa. Circa definitely appears to be the newest and nicest hotel on Fremont Street, but still doesn't compete with the nicest hotels on the strip. I had no problem with having to show ID to enter as it does make you feel a bit safer and more secure. I don't think I'll be staying in downtown Vegas in the future, but if I was, I would definitely choose Circa over the...
Read moreFirst time coming and let me tell you! Loved the Valet, they were soo nice upon arrival and departure. They helped take my Scootie out the trunk and put it together A1! Before you even enter into the Hotel they like BAM give me your ID!! Like what! So that through me off but I had mines but not everyone with me had theirs. Inconvenient a lil! Super futuristic I like simple just a lil!! I mean the whole scanning your room key and going into the elevators it would be nice if the clear doors didn’t keep shutting on me “hence I was in a scooter” elevator doors will shut ASAP on you! Lost my group a couple of times!!! ROOMS TOP TIER!!!! Bathroom Amazing!! Clean, sleek, comfortable, a lot of space, niceeee views beautiful colors!! Breathtaking, It’s worth staying there for sure & bring yo Boo! I did eat the food but do not remember the name! But it’s 24/7 spot a lil expensive 23.00 for a pastrami sandwich crazy work but customer service 100, clean spot and food was hot and good. Def would go back!!! Now to the Pool!!! Again I have a Scooter and I was not happy with the fact that me and my group had to wait 5+ minutes for someone to bring a certain someone with the key down to enter the stadium swim. So we’re just waiting watching people come and go while I sit there and my group be held up because of me!!! Let me back up!!! Not to mention the first person he was bald and tall I didn’t get his name he just assumed I could not go up the escalator, when I pulled up to him all I said was is this where the pool is?! Mind you I’m waiting for my people so I was going in anyway at that time. He proceeds to grab his headset so def his shirt in a haste like I just caused an inconvenience and said to me I have to get someone to take you up “I said take me up where” he’s like there is 5 flights up the escalator. Assumed yet again I could not take the escalator. I said what are you saying take me up for? Then he says well you can’t be taken up on that in an escalator. I mean very rude and disrespectful. I said you need to calm down he begins to throw his hands up roll his eyes and says he is fine. Which is not true I was on the phone with someone and they could hear him! So that was NAWT OK! I said I’m just asking why are you saying that because I was not told anything about being taken up and I’m not going anywhere!! (So def had me upset and just feeling like why do people talk at you not to you and just assume!!!) like I can get on a Escalator you don’t even know why I have this Scooter!!! When I came back the second time (going back) is when I had a group of people with me! This new person had long dreads and wore a hat, he gave more of an explanation when I pulled up as to why he was calling someone and that it had 3 flights (side eye)however he didn’t say there will be a wait because the person was on a break!!! There def shouldn’t be just one person that can take someone on a “special” elevator. Now when we finally got down there we have to be greeted by another selection of people. (At this point I’m just trying to see what the hoopla is about). We’ve already been waiting!!! Be advised there are metal detectors! I’m all down for safety but man this would be nice to know after we had already been waiting. You have to let them check your bag: purse my Scooter. And throw your bevs if your brought any oh and food. Xavier Marshall AMAZING!! Give him a raise or a higher position but then that means I can’t see him LOL! He was very very nice patient respectful & professional! He said whatever assistance I needed they could help with it. If I needed something if I needed my Scooter moved etc. THEN there was another elevator (yess) However the person Christoper was so helpful and nice!!! Great customer service!! He asked if we needed towels and we didn’t have any so it he went and got them for our group! The pool area communicated well. We def would be back! Just a heads up! However you should not have to wait so long to get to this Stadium when that’s what you’re known for! I can only imagine the wait if it’s on a...
Read moreHere is my 8 month long, terrible experience booking several rooms for my friends and family for my wedding.
My partner and I visit Las Vegas 2-3 times a year and wanted a cheesy traditional Vegas wedding. We scouted out several resorts to put our guests up in and settled on Circa because of how much we love the vibes of Fremont as well as it being a 21+ only casino/resort.
We started the booking process 8 months in advance and put a deposit down for a Suite and 18 rooms for a weekend. During the 8 months leading up to the wedding we had been ghosted by Circa sales management on 2 separate occasions only for us to have to dig deeper and realize that the 2 sales coordinators(in a row) were no longer working there. The first time we “lost” our sales coordinator we didn’t hear back for over 2 months. After both times our contract as well as our reservation was lost and it was up to us to resend the original contracts as well as rooming lists.
Also, if you go onto Circa’s website and look at the founders suite now, you’ll see the layout has a dining table, however when we had already purchased the reservation they falsely advertised a pool table in the room(kinda scummy but they “made it up” by giving us an extra fridge in the room). Also, Circa’s way of making it up to us for all the sales coordinator mishaps was to waive a parking pass for one vehicle for the weekend. Thanks I guess.
Once it came to the day before our wedding and our families were arriving we had planned to check in at normal time (3pm) and decorate to throw a welcoming party so our families could all meet.
However, Circa didn’t have our room available until 6pm. On top of that, the front desk had nothing on our reservation about waiving our parking, which in turn lead us to reach out once again to the sales coordinator who just so happened to not be at work at the start of our reservation. The front desk worker seemed almost annoyed that we would even think about inconveniencing him by asking if he could contact the sales department. Mind you we booked a suite and weren’t told about the VIP check in until the 2nd day of being there.
Next morning I go and chat with an in house sales representative that couldn’t believe how we were treated throughout these past 8 months leading up to this. She insisted to cover breakfast for our group which I thought was nothing more than a bandaid for this catastrophe.
After all was said and done we reached out and demanded to talk to the director of sales at Circa (Sasha Lee) and she said she would do whatever she can to make things right. Well jokes on us I guess because we actually believed her. She emailed us about 2 weeks after the fact and said she would gladly return 300$ of our deposit back to us, or comp a 2 night stay in a basic room. In her exact words
“1. Breakfast comp for group via Jamie - $470.35 Parking Pass comp - $75 Additional mini fridge comp - $90 Total Comp- $635.35
In addition to the above comps issued, I am happy to offer a complimentary 2-night stay at Circa for a future visit to be used within 12 months. This is a $300 value. Or if you prefer, you can take the $300 value and we can refund the card we have on file in the amount of $300. This brings the total to $935.35 worth of comps and the max we can offer for these unfortunate customer service issues.”
Out of principle I will never give Circa another cent. I was never expecting a full or even half comp on the reservation, it’s just absurd that a multi-billion dollar casino will nickel and dime a customer after such a debacle.
I guess they don’t care about the average person trying to enjoy a special weekend with friends and family.
Fremont street was fun, I’d go to Plaza next...
