I would rate it a zero if it was possible. Absolutely ruined our anniversary celebration. The worst management and staff in any city not just LV. Reserved a 2 Queen City view deluxe room. Checked in found out the room we got was a king basic room. Basic is an understatement. No plug ins on either side of the bed or walls near bed. Only after my husband pulled down the mattress, we found an outlet almost in the middle of the bed. With a power strip running to the opposite side of the bed. Which was powering the only lamp in the entire room. Tried to pull the power strip out farther from behind the bed to plug in a CPAP machine. But it was pinned under the heavy metal base of the bed. So after a struggle finally got the power strip freed. We both use CPAP machines so need outlets on each side. The bathroom sink is cracked. Only 1 desk chair in the entire room. No other seating options anywhere in the room. No table, sofa or sitting chair. I guess you’re only supposed to lay in the bed. Went back down to complain and ask for a different room. Then I was told they were sold out and couldn’t switch to the room we had reserved. After a long heated discussion with a female manager. I was told we would be moved to a different room tomorrow. I was so mad I walked away forgetting to ask what time tomorrow the room would be available. So at 2:35am went back to the desk to ask what time tomorrow the room would be available. Only to find no info in the system about our room change. Asked to speak to a manager again. This time I got a male manager. Obviously we weren’t sleeping because it was so noisy. This manager kept saying rooms are assigned at time of check in. Why even bother reserving a specific room you’d like. I would have never booked here. Had I known there was some type of room lottery. Granted I know you can reserve that type of room at some hotels. However this was not anywhere in the website. I had given a $50 tip at check-in. Because it seemed like there was minimal wait to check-in. We actually just checked out of Resorts World Crockford from a 3 night stay in this dump. All because we wanted to spend some time downtown. The second manager repeatedly blamed me for agreeing to take a lower floor room at check-in. At check in we were asked if a lower floor room was ok. I said yes not knowing that meant a different room quality than we reserved. We really did not care what floor we were on. We assumed that wouldn’t change the type of room we reserved. Had this information been disclosed. We would have never agreed to take the room. The manager did offer to send maintenance to our room to provide us with an extension cord. I had already told him that my husband hurt his back moving the bed attempting to access the only outlet on 3 walls of the room around the bed. During both conversations I offered to pay for a suite. At this point I was willing to do almost anything to get a different room. At my last straw I asked if I could cancel my hotel stay here and if they would help me get a room at a different property. Without making a single call or looking on the computer. The manager told me all 3 properties were fully booked. Remember I offered to pay for a suite as well. I wasn’t being a terrible person and trying to get comped a room. Or anything like that. I thought money talked in this town. Well not here at the D. If you’re wondering why we left Crockford. It’s because we always stay on the strip. So this trip we decided we wanted to explore downtown. Avoid this hotel at...
Read moreI am writing this review because I want to warn you about staying here. I have stayed at The D a number of times now because it is a great location if you are attending the Life is Beautiful Festival. In the past I have not had complaints about my stay here. This year has changed my mind about even returning. To start it off I do want to say thank you for the kind lady who assisted me with making my reservation. She listened to my situation and was helpful the whole time I was on the phone with her. If I can give separate stars for that part I would give 5. From that point it went down hill. I went to check-in and was told that my room was not ready. I was told I would be able to check in early which is why I went to the hotel early. The person at the desk told me I would get a call when my room was available. Over 4 hours later I still had not received a call so I just went back to the hotel to see if I could check-in. I was given my room, no real problem there other than I had been waiting for hours for a call that never came. The room was fine, clean and comfortable. My complaints come on the day I checked out. The sink stopped draining entirely with no reason that I could see. I didn't really make a fuss about it since I was going to be checking out in a matter of hours anyway. Just before 11am I turned the TV to the channel to checkout and noticed that it said I had 3 long distance call charges from 9/20 on the room. I had not even checked into the room until 9/21. I decided not to use the TV checkout because of this and went downstairs to checkout at the desk obviously needing to have the calls from the wrong day removed. When I got to the desk the lady told me that it WAS a mistake and the calls were made on 9/22. I told her I never once in my stay even picked up the phone. I have a working cellphone that has a long distance plan. I asked her why there was the discrepancy with the day it said on the TV checkout and what she was seeing. She could not give me an answer. ? She showed me a print out of the charges. It showed a $12 charge a $17 charge and a $4 charge. I asked her why the difference between the charges? She explained that it was based on the duration of the calls. I pointed out to her that all of the calls were made within the same minute 4:35. Each call could not have been within that same minute for multiple durations of time. Clearly this is another discrepancy in their system. After speaking to two different managers without them being able to explain why they had so many different discrepancies they would not remove the charges. I realize this is not a ton of money to be concerned about, but think about how many times you checkout in a hurry and maybe don't look over your final bill. I know I have. How many other people are they tacking on little charges for them to go unnoticed? I have spent thousands of dollars at this hotel collectively between all of my stays there. I will not be returning to this hotel because they would not remove the charges for the calls I didn't make durring my stay. I have attended Life is Beautiful 8years out of the 10 and this is how I get to end my trip. Fighting over 30some dollars and they can't even give me a solid explanation for all of the discrepancies in the information they are providing for the calls. Can anyone one else explain how you can make 3 calls within the same minute that are 3 different durations of time? 🤔 Check your bill before you checkout or better yet, maybe plan on staying...
Read moreI took my first trip to Las Vegas in May for my wife’s 27th birthday and we chose to stay at The D due to its convenient location and good reviews from family and friends. We stayed in a king room with smoking allowed and when we arrived we found out we were being given a smoking room for the price of a nonsmoking room. This was a great plus considering there is a $200 resort fee for 4 days but I knew about this since I called ahead so I was not surprised. We also were given a free beer to enjoy while we checked in which was nice. Check in took about 20 minutes and it was around 9-10pm. We were given a room on the 4th floor with perfect views of Fremont street and everything that comes with it. It was a smoking room but it did not smell like cigarettes at all, I smelled weed while I was there but hey I’m definitely not complaining. As soon as we checked into the room it’s very apparent that there was some work that needed to be done. The cupboards and drawers on the dresser were falling off and had chipped wood and the air conditioner was literally being held up by chunks of wood. The privacy film was peeling off of our window and there was cracks in the corners of the window and it rattled every time the zip line went by. We also were right above the speakers and next to the stage so music is extremely loud until about 3-4am, honestly who is sleeping before that in Vegas though? Housekeeping was seriously lacking the whole 4 days we were there as well and we had to chase them down to get help. As long as you plan ahead you will be fine. You can charge food and convenience items from The D gift shop, The D coffee shop near the check in desk, Coney Island dogs, and the steakhouse to your room and have it covered by the resort fee, but you can’t have anything charged from the bar or from gambling. The pool is in the back by the area where you can get picked up/dropped off by Uber but the water is FREEZING. Do not expect the water to be warm because of the sun because that is definitely not true. Also save yourself money and get tickets for The Duece bus system, it runs every 15 minutes and does pickup/dropoff behind The D. It runs all up and down the strip and to Fremont street for only $10 every 24 hours. We gambled probably twice off of their machines while we were there and ordered drinks only once because of how aggressive the server was for tips. She literally stood behind us waiting for more money for over 5 minutes, it was so awkward we had to leave. The first time we gambled we lost our money and the second time we won $60 so that was cool. For it being my wife’s birthday the hotel did not do anything special for her which kind of sucked but there were multiple people who bought us drinks and said happy birthday on the casino floor so the Vegas perks were sort of there. The biggest downside to my entire trip was the last night we were there we went up the elevator and when we got out on the 4th door there was blood all over the walls. It was on the walls outside the elevator, all the way down both sides of the hallway in streaks, on doorknobs, and there was garbage thrown all over the hallway. We reported it and when we woke up the next morning and saw left for the airport it was STILL there. It was such a health hazard and a safety hazard. I let the lady know when we checked out and she barely acknowledged it at all. We will be back but we will make sure to bring earplugs and wet wipes to keep ourselves...
