So here's the deal with the Coral Key Inn, your not sure your renting at the Coral Key Inn. I did a late VRBO rental and was able to get a last minute studio, not a great price but last minute. All the pictures showed me I rented a unit in the front side of the Coral Key Inn, pool side over looking El Mar Drive. Can miss it its Coral colored. When we got there they gave me a "upgrade" to a 1 bedroom. Nice right. So we were brought to a property behind the main property right at a busy corner of A1A with a traffic light, now labeled building A (gray). We go to LBS a lot and I remember this property as being something other then the Coral Key Inn. They obviously bought it and are now trying to incorporate it into their operation but the units are at best tired. The one were were originally in had almost nothing, not even a sponge- bare minimum. There was a complete separate and very nice pool on the back side of this unit but no one told us and there's no way to get to it from this unit. The road noise was intolerable and after a sleepless night we complained. After a bit of resistance we were moved to "my original rented "pool side" unit -3A, still in the back property but with at least a back door to the pool area, much quieter and better equipped, but not, as far as I'm concerned, in the Coral Key Inn and not pool side. Pool side means more then a back door that goes to the pool and maybe a window overlooking the area? There are some other clues that these are older units in need of update. The coils on the stove now have this wacky angle because they don't fit. Not sure who their painter is but someone should take away his chalk gun. There's this wacky sticky paper plastered over the front and back windows of the doors. Not even a shelf in the bathroom to put anything. Our fridge went and it took a argument to get it replaced. Advice- If you want the Coral Key Inn a pretty place in a great location call direct and make sure your getting the actual Coral Key Inn not Building A or B, or at least make sure they tell you where you'll be and what...
Read moreWe enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Coral Key Inn. ||We had a one bedroom apartment that was very spacious. The large bedroom had a king bed and a very large walk-in closet.||They have 2 pools. The one which faces Del Mar and has the largest pool patio was very cold, while the one that faces Ocean Blvd. was perfect.||The building and palm trees are lit up beautifully at night.||It is only steps to a beach portage entry directly across the street. Many of the units have an ocean view through a park directly across the street on Del Mar.||Groceries are just a few blocks away at the Publix as are all the bars and restaurants downtown.||The air conditioner in the kitchen had some drainage issues and needed to be shut off but the one in the bedroom worked fine. They were unable to get the one in the kitchen fixed during our brief stay but it was not a problem as the local temperatures were fairly moderate in January and the larger one in the bedroom offered some cooling capability to the rest of the apartment.||The hotel manger, Sevim, was very personable and helpful. She is very customer focused. She invited us to store our luggage in her office until we were able to check-in. We are able to check-in about 2.5 hours before the 3:00...

Staying at Coral Key Inn was truly one of the highlights of our trip. It’s rare to find a place that combines this kind of location, space, and hospitality without charging a small fortune — but this hotel does exactly that.
Our room was surprisingly large, more like a small apartment than a hotel room, with everything we needed to feel at home. Spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished, and full of light — a perfect place to relax after a day at the beach.
Speaking of the beach: you literally just cross the street and you’re there. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is peaceful, friendly, and still feels like a secret spot. We couldn’t believe how quiet it was, especially considering that most hotels in this area are either insanely expensive or overcrowded. Coral Key Inn manages to be neither — just calm, fair, and full of heart.
But what really made the difference was the staff. Every single person we met was warm, helpful, and genuine. You can tell this place is run by people who care — not just about the property, but about the people who stay here.
If you’re looking for a beachfront location that feels personal and relaxed — this is your place. We’ll...
