Great Escape Apartments by Lowkl — Hotel in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

We came in this motel 3 years ago and it was a wonderful experience: cleaned, nice, friendly. ||Daily housekeeping, service and quality amenities provided.||||Back with this positive remembering in mind, we now booked for 3 weeks again… What a disappointing surprise!!! ||||The motel is now run by an apartment rental company, with ZERO service at all. ||No on-site personnel, no room service, no amenities supply, no cleaning, neither bedsheets and towels replacement…||After complaining for these basic requirements, we were told they provide only 2 toilet paper rolls for starting our stay, and we have to care for any complementary amenities of any kind, on our own for the whole stay.||||Besides, the room was furnished with secondhand damaged pieces of furniture.||When turning the shower faucet in raising the pressure, the shower head is pushed out… Fortunately I didn’t receive it in my face!||||The management explains to us that it operates only as an apartment rental provider without service.||However, you receive a room which is equipped with a small fridge, a microwave and an electric coffee maker; no dishes/cutlery at all, no telephone, no maintenance or replacement of bathroom and swimming pool towels, no change bedsheets… Just a broom, a dustpan and a mop to do the cleaning yourself.||||All public information on classical booking websites are made under the name "Great Escape Inn" but actually connected to the new company "Great Escape LOWKL", though still linked to the positive guests appreciations concerning the previous hotel ownership.||||If we had known, we would never have come back here.||||Our advice: for the same price you can surely find another better place and service, even...

Don't get me wrong, the room is very nice and beautiful although it doesn't need the incense. However, check in was an absolute nightmare. I get to the place, there is no office, only a number with a call center representative. Apparently the only way you can gain access to your room is to call them, download their application... fill out their application and send it back. Took a lot of time. Mind you, i have severe health problems and there is no shade on the property or no cool place to sit so I had to do this on my mobile data in my car in the blazing hot sun with loud traffic on the street. I constantly could not hear the person on the phone, the application was giving me problems, and all she wanted to do was hang up on me!! I needed to get to my room, and she refused until I sent this application back. She didn't care that I was in distress and was feeling sick from the heat. Then she gives me the wrong code... I had to call back twice to get that right... then I had to call once again for the wifi as there are no pamphlets or anything inside that tells you anything. And there is no housekeeping but there were sufficient towels and soaps provided. Room was nice. Service just terrible. Make sure BEFORE you arrive you have a code to your door. Never in my life was I denied a room till I sent an application back, especially when it was already prepaid. Many places give you till the next day for paperwork to be complete as a common courtesy. ...

We stayed for 8 days at Great Escape Inn!! If I could give more than 5 stars i would be more than happy to do it. It is very close to the beach .. 5 min walk. Super clean.. great great customer service and the room service is amazing. I will def. return again and actually perfer to stay at Great Escape inn then some of the modern upscale ofc more expensive hotels down in Fort Lauderdale.. please do not be discourged or drawn away by some of the bad reviews. Yes it may be a bit outdated but nothin to be concerned about. They offer beach umbrellas.. towels. We stayed in room 110 which looked like it was recently remodeled. I actually met some great people who also stayed there and none of them had any complaints. At the end of the day as they say you get what you pay for. It reallt depends on your taste.. if you like upscale modern hotels this may not be the best choice. If you want some quiet and peace this is awesome!! And clean of course. Pool was smaller but very clean.. parking is free!! They have about 10-11 parking spaces . Location as i had mentioned is amazing close to the lauderdale by the sea down town.. angilins pier is very close as well.. it was in a very safe area. There is a police station right down the street. I could go on forever like this. A lot of restaurants just down the street! My husband and I enjoyed our stay and you can not beat the price.
