Winzig Lodge — Hotel in Lava Hot Springs

I basically have two criteria for any stay-cleanliness and comfortable beds. This place delivers all that and more! It was scrupulously clean and had one of the best beds I’ve ever slept in, but it also had a lot of other great things about it. The room was equipped with real dishes and a Keurig coffee maker with plenty of different coffee and tea and cocoa so I didn’t have to limit myself to one cup of coffee each morning. It’s decorated super cute and was filled with sunlight during the day, which made it cheerful and bright. I liked the added touch of supplying ear plugs and a sleep mask, I didn’t need either of them but it was thoughtful. Bathroom and shower were great! I have no complaints, but a couple of observations. One, the stairs up to the room are quite steep, so if you have any sort of mobility issues you might choose a room on the bottom floor, and because the room is on the top floor it takes a hot minute for the hot water to get up there-don’t be put off that, just let the water run for a few minutes and you’ll have all the hot water you could ask for! The lodge is within walking distance of everything in Lava, there are lots of clean towels and even makeup removing towels so you don’t have to use one of the white washcloths. Definitely...

The owner was very friendly and hospitable...He let us check in early when there was a thunderstorm and the water park was closed. Very easy check in. The room is very fresh and comfortable, with very nice decorative touches...it is spacious and clean. It is apparent that this lodge is an act of love and the owners put their best effort in to it. Excellent parking. The only downside...We stayed in a down stairs room, and there was a lot of ambient noise that interfered with sleep. The ear plugs were a thoughtful touch. My teenagers commented that the water pressure in the shower was low, but ample hot water. Nice towels, comfortable bed. I'd recommend trying an upstairs room if you're a light sleeper, but otherwise highly recommend and would love to visit again when we are next in Lava hot springs. Especially love the macrame hangings, European duvet and green dishes. Hot chocolate was a very nice touch...
