Our stay at Hot Springs Village had some high points and some low ones. Highs: A lovely little town with lots of tourists enjoying the hot springs and the Olympic sized pool (adjacent to the condo complex.) Both attractions cost somewhat high fees to use once, and you have to use your personal towels or rent some, so we demurred. The condo complex has two hot tubs on site, and although we checked them out (and could use the condo towels there), we didnāt use them. Diane, the manager, was very nice. She phoned us at home prior to our trip, so we knew we had a ground floor unit. We were very grateful, for as seniors who travel with a lot of medical equipment, stairs (no elevator) are nearly impossible for us. So we had a good āfamily-sizedā unit. No DVD player , but there is wifi in the unit although slow at times. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, and Mikeās Market in town has pre-made sandwiches, pizzas and other ready-to-eat choices. We enjoyed 78 Main Eatery; waitresses were very friendly, although the sandwiches were a bit messy to eat!) We also ate at the Royal Pizzeria. Excellent pizza (we took half back to the condo), and my husband took home some chicken wings (ānaturalā style), but he said they werenāt as good as he had hoped. (He ate them anyway.) The town is very small. I walked into town, and walked from one end of downtown to the other, a bit into the neighborhoods, then through the KOA park and across a bridge back to the condoāand it was less than 3 miles. RCI āUrgent Informationā warned: There are five railroad crossings within a 2 miles radius of the resort. Horns from trains occur 24 hours a day. However, we found we enjoyed hearing them! Lows: Although Diane was very nice, she DOES NOT respond to voice mails. We were lost as we came into town, so left a message asking for directions. We eventually found our way, and when asking her about it, she said she was busy checking in other guests, and, smiling, said that she always got so many ālostā calls, that she usually couldnāt answer them. We called a second time later in our stay, saying we couldnāt find any cooking utensils, and although it was well before the office was to close, they had closed up. I had gone to the office to ask about it; thatās when I knew they had closed early. We left a message asking about it. We had planned to cook dinner that evening, but made other plans. The day we checked out, Diane said she had gotten the message, but ādidnāt want to barge in on us.ā (Why she didnāt call back instead escapes me!) Anyway, she entered our unit to be sure the cookware was there. It was in an unmarked closet in a storage room, which we thought was an electrical utility box. A simple sign saying ācookware insideā would have helped us immensely! No help when we needed it. So if you canāt talk to the office in person, donāt waste your time. Final humorous note: An acquaintance of mine, hearing we planned to go Lava Hot Springs, thought weād be there for a day or two. When I told her weād be there a week at a resort, she was surprised at the length of stay, and that was a RESORT there. We did enjoy our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been staying at these condos since I was a child. It has always been my favorite place to stay. I stayed here this past weekend and have never been more discussed in my whole life by any hotel or motel!!! š¤®š¤¢ we arrived in the evening and planned on cooking a pizza for dinner. We opened the oven to no rack to cook on. The manager was nice and tried several different appartments to find us one. . Then the oven only worked on hight broil... kind of hard to cook a pizza like that!. I went to get the extra pillows out of the closet andto get ready for bed and to my surprise BLOOD spots on the pillow case and makeup on the other pillow (not stains fresh spots). So discussed that I couldn't even sleep. Then I tried to wash off and found that the tub was quickly filling with water and before I could fully shower I was in shin deep water that was backing up from the tub. The last straw was that after that second sleepless night I woke up to bug bites on my face... I can't believe that they have let it get so bad! It breaks my heart. So dirty, unsanitary, and just discussing. Dear lava condos DO NOT charge people 150.00 dollars a night to stay here... it's not worth the 100.00 I have payed with previous...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt count this place out because of bad reviews! I am genuinely confused by them, my experience was amazing. I absolutely loved and would recommend staying here!! My husband and I stayed 2 nights and we loved it! It is clean, tidy, and has everything you need. Everything works great, I loved the beds(super comfy) and the kitchenette was perfect for our needs. The shower had plenty of hot water, and great pressure. It is super close to the store and the springs. The new management is just as amazing as the management before. There is still a pool table in the game room guys :) great...
