I've been going to this motel for well over a decade. It was always my happy place, so it was natural to book our favorite room for our honeymoon in early October. Less than a month before the reservation, they called to say the motel was being refurbished and our reservation was being canceled. Would have been nice to at least offer to help find something nearby. Once I got over the shock of my honeymoon being canceled with less than a month to go, I sent an email expressing how disappointed I was in how they handled the situation with a long time fan of this funky little motel. (It was a scramble to find another place, with the same amenities and a comparable price.) I NEVER EVEN GOT A RESPONSE. I don't normally leave negative reviews but the new owners don't seem to care, and I was really surprised no one could be bothered to write me back. I wasn't looking for free stuff, just a sincere apology. I can't imagine I will be doing my yearly vacation there anymore. I'm honestly not even angry, just so sad and...

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The hotel itself it very old, which I expected from the pictures. However the rooms smelled like mildew and cigarette smoke from days past. We had to keep the windows open all the time just to be able to stay there. When we checked in we were told if we wanted maid service to hang the sign on the door. (typical with many hotels now) We needed new towels and the sign hung on our door from 8am to 7:30 pm but no one ever came. I eventually had to take the dirty towels to the office and get new ones myself. We had a toilet back up (I think the pluming is original to the building that must have been built in the 50's. After I called the office they brought up a plunger, which I used myself to unclog the toilet. The beds are super hard and uncomfortable and the walls paper thin.

On the positive the location is superb and the heated pool, though quite old was very nice.

This hotel was way over priced for what it is. maybe for $59 a night but for the $170 we...

Cute little motel right by the ocean, it goes motel front, street, beach grass, sand, water. There are multiple buildings belonging to the motel, and we are in the Budd building on the corner of Ocean Rd and Laneda Ave (the "main strip" through town with all the cafés, shops, restaurants, etc.) which has ten ocean facing one room suites with balconies or patios and four back rooms on two floors. The back rooms can be booked together with the suite in front of them for families. There is a heated pool by one of the other buildings - hitch is great if you want to go swimming as the ocean is toooo cold and the beach too windy for sunbathing. The front office also has a small collection of games and puzzles that guests can borrow. The suite we were in had a nice kitchenette with oven and stovetop, dishwasher, microwave and full size fridge. With a grocery store a few blocks walk, it's easy to save some money buy cooking your own food. Though do take time to try out at least a few of the cafés and restaurants as they...

We stayed here while in town for a wedding. The motel was clean and inviting. The staff, from the front desk to the room cleaning, were friendly and helpful. The motel has a nice small pool for kids of all ages and room for folks to relax alongside it. The beach is across the street and the views of the evening sunset are spectacular, even from the room. The water pressure is not great, so shower times were slightly longer to ensure a proper rinse. Coffee and WiFi are provided in the room. The room had a small refrigerator and a two burner stove. Plates, silverware, and cups were in the cabinets. My room faced the ocean and I kept the patio door open most of the time. It is a fine place to stay and reasonably priced considering we were there during peak summer season.

We stayed in 107 non view. The pillows are thick and comfy plus the shower pressure was amazing. Perfect in and out for OCT

The room and location are nice, but the lack of 24 hour staff was a bummer. One of the neighbors was playing loud music with a guest at 2 in the morning making it difficult to sleep. As I didn’t want to walk to the room, we planned to call the room but realized we didn’t have a phone (despite the sign saying there would be one). Maybe bring earplugs if you decide to stay here? It seems talking to drunk guests is the most that can be done, and will fix the situation for 20 minutes. On a side note, one of the thermostats and the drain cover were broken making it a bit cold and a pain.
