I love this spot to see turtles! It’s a very small trail and this is NOT a beginners or kid friendly snorkel spot.
It’s a little tricky getting into the water, walk all the way to nearly the end of the trail, there’s 1 last little bush and you get into the water in the horse show shaped inlet when the water goes out. It’s about 4.5 feet deep and you can stand once you get in. You can sit on the rock, out your fins on and easily slide in. And when the wave comes up, you slide onto the rock to get out. It’s not graceful at all but safer than going down the sides of the cliff like others do.
Anyway, the turtles are usually around the edges eating in the shallower water. If they’re not on the side you got in, make your way in a U shape towards the shore, not straight across if you’re a new snorkeled and get to the other side. They kind of hide behind the rocks on that far side. But we saw 5 this last trip in November, so chill and fun to watch.

Definitely worth checking out if your staying in the area or want to see some turtles 🐢 Pros: so much wildlife, fish, turtles, eels, sea cucumbers, urchins not very busy Cons: no clear entry point, if you don’t have access via one of the apartments complex’s shore lines then I’d recommend going to the right corner of the bay where you can climb down some rock and enter through a small cove parking may be hard, we where staying in one of the apartments along the bay so we never struggled with this but if you are coming from somewhere else it could be hard no...
Read moreThis place is turtle heaven! They were everywhere! I saw at least 30 in an hour, at about an hour before sunset. Absolutely incredible. The cove isn’t easy to get to, so there weren’t many people snorkeling or swimming...perfect. #1 snorkeling spot on Maui in my opinion, better than Honolua Bay.
Like others have said, parking isn’t obvious. I came here twice and both times I parked on the street by One Napili Way apartments. After that, walk to the beach directly northwest, then follow the water/rockline and resort paths southward until you see the bay, it’s a 3-5 minute...
