Our condo was dated and needed updates. I don't know if it represents all units. The guest bathroom sink was plugged up when we arrived and I'm sure it was at least for the previous tenants, too, because the stoppers in the sink and bathroom were both unscrewed and laying on the counter. On the upside, after we'd lived with the plugged sink for 3 days, we called. Maintenance was here with an hour and fixed the problem. There are multiple pools on the property, but not all of them are good for kids. We are traveling with three children under age 6 and went to one of the pools. To sign on the gate said quiet only. Our kids were not loud, but they are kids we were told by the people at the pool that it was a quiet area where people went to relax so the kids should be taken elsewhere. That was fine. We went to another nearby pool where they were lots of children. My point is that not all the pools are open to everyone. I've stayed at several complexes here including Wailea Elua and the Kihei Racquet Club (both are oceanfront) I would go back to those before coming here again. The location is great with easy access to Kihei and Monkey Pod within walking distance. Lots of great golf courses. The Wailea courses are great, but you can save some money and play the local public course, Maui Nui. Same grass, same climate, a par 71 Hawaii golf experience and you can get a shareable 6 round punch card for $384.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this condo complex. We were lucky enough to rent a unit on the fairway for the first hole and it was fun and relaxing to watch people play. Although we were in the ground floor unit, it was quiet and everyone was pleasant. The unit we stayed in was updated and comfortable. We did not use the pools, but they seemed nice and centrally located the complex itself was a short walk to the shopping mall down the road where there was a small grocery store as well. One parking spot reserved for the unit right out front and plenty of other guest parking around the corner. A very enjoyable stay and we would rent this unit again.

Beautiful, spacious, clean condo! The kitchen is equipped with all sorts of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, rice cooker, toaster, etc. There was enough dish soap, dishwasher tabs, and washer dryer pods to easily see us through a week and a half. There’s enough shampoo to get started if anyone in your group has long hair. (Note- there were none of the pantry items I would usually expect in a VRBO type situation. You will need your own oil, sugar, etc.) Location was very quiet at night, and had a beautiful view of the golf course and sunset. You will absolutely need a car for this location- the beach is a 5 minute drive, but wouldn’t be fun to walk!

In A Nutshell:

-Wailea Grand Champions is the perfect place for you to spend your time on Maui. -It's located in my favorite town, Wailea, which is central to all parts of Maui. -If you love golf, then you can play on the property. -The luxury Shops at Wailea is a short walk down the road. -We stayed in unit #140, which is a 2 bedroom/2 bath fully-furnished condo. -This unit had everything from washer/dryer, fax/copy machine, full kitchen (i.e. full oven/mini-oven, rice cooker, fridge w/ ice maker, any utensil you can think of), plus a nice patio w/ very nice views. -You even receive a welcome gift of chocolates & personal welcome message. -If you ever think about retiring to Maui, I highly recommend booking a stay at Grand Champions. -Many of the units are owned & lived in by residents and you get a nice feel of what it would be like living here. -It's very, very quiet here. -You also get a dedicated parking space close to the unit. -I also liked the fact that housekeeping doesn't come everyday (they come every 3rd day), I don't like to use new towels everyday & also like to have some privacy. -The office to check-in is not at the property, but it's a short drive to: 34 Wailea Gateway Place, #A102.

Overall, my wife & I plan to stay here again in the near future, we really enjoyed the customer service during check-in & the condo...
