Whenever I read a review that seems too good to be true, I’m skeptical—but this hotel is the real deal. We recently had the privilege of spending the holiday season at the Andaz Maui, a place we’ve visited over a dozen times, and it continues to exceed every expectation. From the moment you arrive, you know you’re somewhere extraordinary. This isn’t just a hotel; it’s a destination that embodies the very best of what hospitality can be. While the location, pools, views, and amenities are world-class, it’s the staff who elevate this property to a level unmatched by any other Hyatt or resort we’ve ever visited.||The Staff: Exceptional in Every Way||Let’s start with the incredible team, because they are truly what makes the Andaz feel like home. From the moment you arrive, their dedication to creating an unforgettable stay is evident.| • Elijah at Breakfast: Elijah doesn’t just take your order—he remembers it. Your coffee magically appears before you even think to ask, and your omelet or pancake preferences are prepared like clockwork. One morning, the hotel was out of coconut syrup, but instead of letting it disrupt the experience, the staff went to a local market to pick some up just to enhance our meal. It’s these above-and-beyond efforts that make us feel so well cared for.| • Dennis at the Pool: The pool staff, led by Dennis, operates like a finely tuned orchestra. They balance the needs of every guest, even during peak holiday times, with grace and efficiency. From setting up chairs and adjusting umbrellas to passing out complimentary mochi ice cream or hosting lively and fun poolside bingo, Dennis and his team deliver a seamless and enjoyable poolside experience. Even the smallest details, like refilling water stations without missing a beat, are handled with care.| • World-Class Mixologists: The bars at the Andaz are second to none, thanks to the incredible mixologists. Their cocktails are creative and meticulously crafted, rivaling the best in the world. Using fresh juices, syrups, and top-shelf spirits, they create inventive drinks that are truly memorable. Their “Cocktail of the Month” program is a must-try, and for those wanting to learn the craft, the mixology classes are both fun and educational. One standout creation you might get to try is the famous Doft’s Delight, a signature cocktail invented by Jason, which perfectly embodies the creativity and expertise of the team. It’s yet another way the Andaz staff goes above and beyond to create a unique experience for their guests.||Breakfast Buffet: A Culinary Adventure||Speaking of breakfast, the buffet here is nothing short of spectacular. Fresh fruits, cheeses, pastries, made-to-order omelets, unique pancakes, mochi waffles, and fresh juices—it’s an experience, not just a meal. The variety and quality are unmatched, and you’ll find yourself lingering just to savor it all.||Poolside Perfection||The pools at the Andaz Maui are an oasis of relaxation and fun. With breathtaking views and expertly maintained facilities, it’s the ideal place to unwind. The pool staff ensures a seamless experience, catering to every need, whether it’s adjusting umbrellas, bringing fresh towels, or passing out cool treats. It’s these thoughtful touches that make every moment at the pool feel luxurious.||A Unique Sense of Tranquility||Unlike so many other properties in Wailea, even during peak season when the hotel is at full capacity, the Andaz maintains a rare sense of tranquility. The ratio of guests and guestrooms to the physical property is carefully balanced, creating a serene atmosphere that never feels crowded. This thoughtful design and planning ensure that guests can fully enjoy the beauty and relaxation of the resort without feeling overwhelmed by others—a standout feature that keeps us coming back year after year.||Updated Rooms and Endless Activities||The recently refreshed rooms are better than ever, with thoughtful improvements like enhanced rain showers and more in-room storage. The resort is brimming with activities for all ages, from lei-making and ukulele classes to cookie decorating and holiday bingo. There’s always something to do, but even with all these options, the serene beach beckons—perfect for a sunset stroll or simply unwinding with the help of the attentive beach staff.||A Luau Like No Other||If you’re looking for the best luau on Maui, look no further. The Andaz sets the gold standard, combining stunning performances with incredible food and an intimate, immersive atmosphere.||Thoughtful Touches Everywhere||From the moment you’re greeted with flower and wood leis, lavender lemonade, and reusable water bottles, the Andaz’s thoughtfulness is evident. The complimentary minibar, holiday treats at the front desk, and spontaneous poolside surprises like mochi ice cream add to the sense that every detail has been carefully considered to make your stay magical.||The Negatives Would Be…||It is not cheap, but we feel it is worth every penny, making it a great value. The other “negative” is that this is the only place we’ve been able to truly disconnect, which makes getting back to work difficult and leaving downright heartbreaking. These aren’t negatives in the traditional sense, but they’re worth noting!||Why We Keep Coming Back||There’s no shortage of reasons why we eagerly return year after year. The Andaz Maui isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience, a sanctuary, and a place where unforgettable memories are made. Whether it’s the staff who make you feel like family, the stunning location, or the endless amenities, there’s simply no place like it. We’re already counting down the days until our next visit!||Thank you, Andaz Maui, for making every stay more special than the last. You truly are a slice of...

Compared to its neighboring competitors, four seasons and fairmont, it is not worth the money to stay here if you are paying upwards of $900/night. On my initial arrival, myself and my wife opened our own doors. This is not a pretentious statement, however to draw comparison at the 4S and Fairmont, this never happened once. The two active valet attendees at Andaz occupied themselves by chatting, one inside a guests car, the other outside upon our arrival. When I exited my vehicle and began unloading my own bags, I was then approached. By this time all our suitcases were on the pavement. For a $45/day valet fee, this is unacceptable. The valet workers lacked, awareness, attentiveness and overall pride. This put an initial taste that was unpleasant in my mouth, however i continued to keep a positive outlook. Before arriving I called to ensure a noon check in, and it was confirmed. When we arrived(12:45), it was communicated housekeeping was still in the room and there would be a wait to which I would be texted when it was over. While we were patient, the cleaning took almost 2 hours, and i never received a text. Instead the only way I found our room to be ready was when I returned to the front desk and voiced my displeasure, it was magically ready to go. I hate to speculate but I presume this to be a tactic to get guests to visit the spa or bar and spend money, and i did just that and spent $100 on drinks during the wait. On my initial call before arriving to the island I was told if my room wasn’t ready there were many activities to indulge in while we waited, the attendant then listed off spa treatments, etc. While this may seem helpful to some, if I am waiting for a table at a 5 star restaurant, in which I had a timed reservation, I do not desire to be pointed to a snack display where I should spend additional funds until I’m seated. It came off very classless. There was no effort to wow or accommodate the customer, again at $900/night that should be the overarching goal. All of this happened before we even checked into the room, and that is when I was compelled to write a review…the rooms where are simply aesthetically pleasing and nothing more. They have no true functionality and they are set up to be great for picture posting. The lights in the suites were all on a single light grid, meaning at anytime if you wanted a light on in the bathroom or main living space, all the lights came on in unison. This also did not couple well with the fact the moveable walls surrounding the bathroom and shower leaked light through at night, when someone is using the bathroom. Upon arriving in our room we waited for 30 minutes for our bags to be brought up from the hold. Again this is not a case of being impatient, but at $900/night, the service must be better. Once i made a call to the front desk, it took another 30 minutes and finally the bags arrived. I felt defeated but it was furthered as there was no microwave in the room, and also no slippers or robes. To top it off, the fridge held about 2 water bottles and maybe a bottle of wine if you were lucky. The shower we had leaked water onto the bathroom floor, to the point there an actual puddle that 7+ towels could not hold. When i brought this to the attention of the front desk, more towels were sent up…two of them. The pool seating was another quality issue, the covers and towels were discolored, stained and very grotesque looking. The compilation of these events, while on vacation ruined my stay here, but we did not let it ruin our honeymoon. The grounds were well kept, the staff friendly and the views gorgeous. In highlighting the displeasures there were positives. The morning kitchen staff were top notch, the housekeepers were sharp and quick as well. This is the place to stay if you want to avoid kids as the average aged crowd was early 40’s. This hotel would not have received a bad review for half the service I received compared to its competitors, if only the price was cut in half as well. If you want class and elegance stay elsewhere. This hotel is nice...

We LOVED our stay at the Andaz Maui in February, wishing we could stay longer than the 2 nights we had here! The property is very new and modern, yet with still all the open air and beautiful hawaiian charm you want when visiting the islands.

First I want to speak to the impeccable service and acknowledgment we received for being Hyatt Globalists. Status is often hit or miss at other hotel properties within Hyatt, but here they hit it out of the park and made our status feel valued and valuable! We received a suite upgrade to a room that had a separate bedroom and bath, plus a living room with a cozy couch, tv, and huge dining table, plus a fun armour that contained a Nespresso maker, sink, glasses, and fridge stocked daily with complimentary Hawaiian juices, soda, and water...plus chips and cookies. The room had 2 balconies facing down to the pool and incredible views of the ocean and nearby islands, it was gorgeous...music at night lofted up from the pool area lounge and it just had a great energy, yet peaceful and private too. Also as Globalists we were given a card to receive 2 free glasses of champagne and a desert at either the lounge or K-anna kitchen, we enjoyed them while having dinner at K-anna and LOVED that entire experience. Additionally our globalist status got us free breakfast at K-anna kitchen each morning and this was perhaps the best benefit of all...it was an incredible feast of a buffet with everything you could imagine and so many fresh made to order items, unlike any buffet I have been to in a very long time...and by being complimentary it saved a bundle...the bill for the 2 of us was $120 each morning with tip...all covered by our globalist status! I'll take this amazing buffet over a regency club or any lounge ANY DAY!! There are more reviews about the buffet so read those, it was awesome! Lastly as Globalists we got a 4pm late checkout, and I was able to use the steam room and plunge pool in the spa after asking kindly if that could be an option...interestingly this is the only thing they do NOT do standardly for Globalist while at most other 5 star resorts access to the spa amenities is included...here it is not but when I asked they were super ready to accommodate me which I REALLY APPRECIATED! There was no one else in the spa when I went around 9 am so I think that is a perk they could easily make standard for Globalists in the future. Final Globalist (and all Hyatt levels) if staying on points the resort fee and valet parking are FREE...those add up to $60+ a day so a very nice reason to use your points here if you can!

The pools here and views from the lobby down to the ocean take the cake...they easily rival the four seasons and are BETTER than most if not all the other hotels in Wailea...we have stayed at the others, this is perhaps the best! You have the lobby looking down on a series of 4 infinity edge pools all appearing to pour down to the ocean. The final pool has a walk in lagoon edge and is great for kids...then its a few steps across a well manicured lawn and you are the beach where friendly hotel attendants will setup chairs with umbrellas and a table for you (all complimentary) and the swimming here is perfect. In the mornings do the Stand up Paddle board lesson. The water was glass calm at 8 am and we saw turtles and a manta ray on our trip!!

The service here is what really set this place apart the most, they recognized and appreciate loyal Globalists and just their inventive and friendly check in is soooo much better than other hotels...no lines here, no desk really...they meet you as you are walking in, greeting you with a warm Aloha, then ask you to take a seat with an incredible view over the pools and ocean, they bring you a delicious lemonade and they do a super fast checkin via iPad...so you stay comfy and enjoy the view and relaxation from moment one!

We Loved it here and we...

Looking for the one of the best Luaus in all of Hawaii? The Andaz Maui pulls out all the stops!! This amazing resort has the most gorgeous views overlooking the ocean at sunset, and the cultural experience of these amazing performers makes you never want to leave this place. Prior to the show you can interact with the performers and feel like a real native with roll on tattoos that wash off with soap & water and fabric stamping. They of course have an open bar, a delicious 3 course meal, and the best dancers and storytellers! We loved this special experience and know you will too! you don’t even have to be a hotel guest to experience this luau although we recommend booking your entire trip to Andaz!
