Welzie Art — Attraction in Maui

Happiness. That is the first word that came to mind when I stepped into the gallery. My husband and I are honeymooning in Maui right now and one of our goals has been to get into art and investing more into beautiful local pieces and bring back pieces of memories from our trips as we build our life together. We went to the Gallery today, and we were completely blown away with the experience beginning with walking through the doors to leaving. Not only is the art work insanely cool, beautiful and unique but this was our first time buying an “art piece” and we were so intimidated walking in based on what you see in movies or hear about other galleries. We didn’t want to sound dumb or like we didn’t know what we were doing, but admittedly we didn’t. We wanted to look at the art and enjoy looking at it. Instantly we were put at ease. Not only is the art mesmerizing and tells beautiful love stories, but the energy in the gallery was the same way. I could take a breath, I could walk around without pressure, I was educated on every aspect of the art without judgment. My husband felt the same way. We fell in love with the Extended Vacation piece and ended up purchasing it as our honeymoon souvenir. Thank you for making art so approachable. We cannot wait to Come back for another piece. As you walk into the gallery in the Andaz, the walls jump with images of Hawaii, anything from your honu to snorkels to musubis to the friendliest shark you’ll ever see. His unique canvas and paint materials reflect the artist himself. Resin, aluminum, and colorful paints…it just leaves you HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.
