From the moment you walk into Spoon and Key Market in Wailea, the ambiance is warm and inviting. The service is impeccable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and make excellent recommendations.
The food is simply extraordinary! Every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Everything is incredibly fresh, and the flavors are well-balanced and innovative. Chef Chris Kulis’ creativity shines through in every bite.
EVERYTHING is delicious, but hands down my favorite go-to breakfast choice is the WAKE AND BAKE HASH with ham and an over medium egg. It consists of the hash of the day, slow cooked egg with your protein of choice. Or try that with some pork belly instead…talk about yum!
Again, EVERYING is delicious, but for lunch here are my top recommendations: YOU CAN COUNT BANH MI (crispy pork belly, ham, pickled veg, jalapeno, cilantro, mint, sriracha aioli, sourdough) A PROPER BLT (crispy pork belly, greens, tomato, garlic aioli, Dijon sourdough) AVOCADO TOAST (sourdough toast, avocado, slow cooked egg, Hawaiian Red Sea salt, herbs, olive oil) FISH TACO (local fish, avocado, corn tortillas)
The overall experience at Spoon and Key Market is unforgettable. It's clear that the staff and chef put their heart into every detail, creating an unparalleled dining experience. If you're in Wailea, this restaurant is an...
Read moreWe stayed at the nearby Wailea Marriot, and stumbled upon this place for lunch one day after being underwhelmed with food options at our resort. Had the best fish tacos of my life here (and we live in California, so we get food fish tacos at baseline)! Came back for their Wednesday boards dinner - delicious crudo, kale/arugula salad, and wine selection. And returned again for their Friday prix fix dinner - 8 courses and all DELICIOUS. Fresh fish, unique flavors, beautiful presentation all around. The guava pannacotta with candied strawberries and nuts was the best dessert of our whole trip. Our waitress, Serena, was wonderful- personable and attentive, always made sure our glasses were full, and that our dietary modifications were adhered to. The owners, 2 chefs, have created this amazing restaurant with delicious food in a laid back atmosphere with stunning views of banyan trees and the ocean in the distance. We had good food at nearby restaurants also but kept comparing to spoon and key and can confidently say they served our best meals consistently. After coming 3 times in 3 days, we felt like this was our “usual” food spot and were warmly welcomed every time we came in as if we were regulars....
Read moreSat down for a birthday dinner, left pretty unhappy and unimpressed. The menu was confusing and not what we were expecting. I’ve worked with a lot of tasting menu’s and coursed menu’s in my career and to me it just didn’t work. The house made pasta was incredible though, we were very impressed with that and it was the best part of our evening. The service was the worst part of the experience however. Our server had no idea what was going on and seemed rather green. Didn’t give any information on the menu and didn’t have answers for our questions. He gave us the wrong bill and disappeared and when he came back I mentioned the issue and he disappeared again, waiting for me to put my card on the wrong bill. The cocktail special was $22 and just tasted like a regular mix on top of the overcharge for the 2 pastas. Before that he brought out a complimentary dessert from the kitchen and said he took that off the bill for us. Something we didn’t even order, but were grateful for. Overall, we love coming there for breakfast and lunch, but dinner was a miss unfortunately. Hoping for a better...
