Ulua Beach — Attraction in Maui

OH. MY. GOD. We came here in January set on swimming with a sea turtle. We got so much more than sea turtles snorkeling here! Not only are there an abundance of colorful fish, coral, sea urchins (black and red), anemone, but I was able to spot an OCTOPUS on the sea floor. Not only that, but almost got run into a giant sea turtle who came and swam up behind me. Once we quickly made a little distance, this enormous kind creature swam with us for a few minutes. What an unbelievable experience just with some Amazon snorkel gear, some swimsuits and the beach behind us, along with of course the utmost care and respect to the coral and the wildlife. Best beach in Maui for snorkeling as suggested by an employee at Auntie Snorkel store. When we went the beach was calm in the morning and so could do some snorkeling and check out the fishes and the corals! But post 11 am, huge waves slowly started coming in so we retreated back to the shore. We are people who are not exactly trained in swimming and still we managed to do snorkeling here! We just needed a snorkel belt to keep us afloat and the other snorkeling gears (goggles, fins etc) were all rented. You'll find plenty of stores to rent nearby (the snorkel store or auntie snorkel atore) such gears from. There were enough toilets and a common wash shower. This is an amazing beach in Wailea! I can hear several times on my vacation and was never disappointed. There is a pretty large area that is shaded each morning, which is awesome to ensure that you stay cool while chilling on the beach and don’t burn.

Depending on the wind the waves can be quite large, making it suboptimal for snorkeling and young kids playing in the water, but it provides an ideal place for bodysurfing and playing in the waves.

When the waves aren’t ginormous, there is a reef on both ends of the beach that provides wonderful opportunities for snorkeling.
