This was the worst experience I ever had at a hotel. We checked into the first room to find half a joint by the nightstand and sticky stuff on the floor. We went down to the front desk to let them know they put us in a room that was either not cleaned at all or not cleaned well. They put us in a new room. This one was clean, though it is obvious that this hotel is just run down in general. We were heading to bed a little after 10 and my daughter used the bathroom to find out the toilet would not flush. There was a plunger next to it, and I spent about 30 minutes trying to plunge but still couldn't get it to flush. Called the front desk and there was no answer. Went downstairs and they said they would send maintenance up. At midnight, still nobody had come up. We needed to use the restroom (restrooms in the lounge were locked due to COVID) and I needed to get to sleep. I tried calling front desk again and again nobody answered. I went downstairs and they told me they would be up in a few minutes. They came upstairs, tried to plunge the toilet but had the same experience I did. They said, they would open a different room for us to use the bathroom in the morning. I still needed to use the bathroom but tried to go to bed without as I really needed some sleep. Unfortunately, I woke up at 3 AM with my stomach cramping. Since we didn't have a working toilet, I went downstairs to the front desk. They unlocked the men's restroom so I could use it. There was still urine in the toilet so I tried to flush it, only to find out that one wouldn't flush either! They then unlocked the women's restroom for me to use. Luckily, that one worked. In the morning, my wife went downstairs and they unlocked another room but yelled loudly while people were in the lounge the room number that was being unlocked. My wife used the bathroom because she needed to but she didn't feel comfortable showering as she was nervous that everyone knew she was using the bathroom in a room that was left unlocked. The gentleman working the front desk was nice and I could tell he was trying his best, but it is outrageous that they charged me $145 (I think that was the cost after tax) for a "suite" that didn't even have a...
Read moreREAD THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK, PLEASE This place is beyond horrible and I wouldn't want my worst enemy staying here! First, if you booked your room on Expedia/Hotels.com/VRBO or any other site be aware that nowhere in the small print when confirming/paying for you reservation is there a "fee" you have to pay when you arrive. Surprisingly when you get there to check in there's a $50 fee for possible damage you could do. Completely laughable because IF you see the rooms or the rest of this hole-tel you'll see that they should give you $50 for staying!! The photos online are lies, complete deception as it looks NOTHING like the photos! It's on the corner on Sycamore View and Summer Trees and that neighborhood looks like utter garbage now! People standing around all night, kids from god-knows-where running up and down the hallway. No pool because someone had a party and management said they're not going to worry about fixing it! The 'staff' is rude as hell and I if I had more options and money I would have just stayed elsewhere because disgusting is an understatement! Look at the photos The elevator doesn't work, the rooms were in the absolute worst condition imaginable! Let's start: the walls had crap all over them(don't know what it was), the floors didn't look swept or mopped, the bed was hard as a rock, the bathroom was dark and the vent was so filled with dust you couldn't see into it. The walls had water damage, the sprinkler was covered by a plastic bag, the smoke detector has no battery in it. The windows curtain were torn so it wasn't blocking any light and they were supposed to be double pane windows to cut the sound, but we heard the cops at least 5-7 times from the 4th floor! The water that came out of the tub faucet was brown when it came out, but I wasn't able to catch a photo of it. The TV remote didn't work and we even tried to reprogram it. Just a disgusting place all around. I'll be reporting the smoke detector and sprinkler to Wyndham and Memphis fire department. My reviews and photos for Expedia and Wyndham will be next. They usually have decent hotels and I'm sure they don't want this place tied to their name. Look at the photos, find some other place you'll be better in...
Read moreI would leave zero stars if possible. We booked through Priceline. 2 king rooms for total of around $260…fair enough. We were checked in by a friendly face, she was kind. Give our two rooms which were 2 queen beds …ok, we can live with that. Entered one room that was a disaster, blamed on new housecleaning staff. The other room wreaked of mold. Returned to the front desk and we were given two rooms on another floor. Walked in, smelled clean, appeared clean. One shower was leaking so terribly that the light in the bathroom shorted out. It was a burden to get towels, the housekeeping gentleman said he wasn’t maintenance and couldn’t really be bothered to do anything. It was a huge burden to get fresh towels as the floor was saturated because the leak ran down the back of the wall. My shower was filthy, dingy and had hair and other debris in the basin/tub. There was no shower curtain. I went to the front desk to report the problem and was told a shower curtain would be delivered to my room. The same housekeeping gentleman was going to merely drop it off and had to be asked to install it. He was rude and used profanity with us. The outside area was dirty and unkempt. I understand due to covid that outdoor public areas are closed, I even appreciate that. But clean up the garbage and sweep the gated and locked areas…they aren’t in use…they should be pristine.
The elevator glass and stainless door is smeared with finger prints. A patron even took time to draw a heart with their greasy or dirty hands on the glass.
Again, the woman at the desk was cheerful and tried to accommodate. If you can’t work at full capacity, then you should close a few floors down to serve within your means.
I’m not high maintenance…I just want a clean space and comfortable place to lay my head after traveling 1030 miles by car, in less than 24 hours, to pick up my daughter who graduated from her AIT training program...
