I booked this hotel through a third party. The hotel was booked for one night for $142.00. ( July 4th weekend) I walked into the hotel and mildew and tobacco hit me at the entrance. It was about 2:20pm, the âmanagerâ explained you couldnât check in until 3pm. I then ask could I at least see the room, he stated yes. We began to walk on the first floor there was exposed wires hanging from the ceiling, screens to the windows coming off, the carpet needed to be cleaned and a very strong odor. I asked are people allowed to smoke in this room he stated no and explained there was a fee if you did smoke. I stated it seemed as though someone already did. I explained I would not be checking in a would like a refund, and ask if I could speak to the manager, he stated he was the manager and due to me booking through a third party I would have to contact the third party to get my refund. I booked another room at Courtyard Marriott (definitely recommend) and contacted the third party on Tuesday due to the holiday. Once contacting them, they informed me the manager wouldnât issue a refund because I stayed there. That was incorrect... I didnât even stay over 5 minutes in that hotel. I called the location and asked to speak to the manager he stated the manager wasnât there at the moment. I asked what the name of the manager he stated nick, and that his name was also nick but he was not the manager. The ânickâ that let us see the room was about 5â5â black glasses and hair that was either white or Hispanic ( the day we checked in he told us he was manager). I expressed to him the third party will not give me my money because you stated we stayed there and we did not. He stated I had to check you in. I said how could you check me in and I didnât stay there. He said because you booked a non-refundable room. When I began to express my thoughts he then hung up in my face. DO NOT STAY HERE, aside from the rooms he was very rude and not accommodating at all. Furthermore I donât appreciate him lying on me. My reservation was made on 4/23/2023 and paid in full. I show up on 5/24 to check into the hotel and it was abandoned, no roof, and basically just the bones of the hotel standing up. I called Wyndham at 8:00 PM and they said I have to wait 1 week for an update on my claim, to book another reservation, pay for it out pocket, and wait for Baymont to refund me. Mind you I went from paying in full in April $178 to $700 booking a reservation on the day of. Wyndham reservation basically said it is first they received a complaint about the hotel being in shambles or shut down. I did a quick Google research and saw that 2 other people posted about it, one last week and another person three days ago. I made mention of it, and Wyndham said they will contact the hotel. Mind you the hotel is in shambles so I was unsure HOW they would get in touch with them.
No offer of compensation whatsoever for a reservation that was a lemon. Agent then turned around and said all hotels are booked for the time you have selected and I can't help you. I'm in a new city, no where to sleep, and Wyndham customer service did not accommodate me at all. They essentially told me to go find another hotel, which if they can't find a new hotel how would I?

   Read moreMy experience was unique to say the least, being from the northern states Michigan to be specific, I found some of the customs at this specific franchise to be less guest oriented and more profit margin all Ala Cart. Things that are normally inclusive at the same hotel chain and are inclusive in other geographic locations. I was charged these extras.
$ 17.90 Pet Fee not deposit incorporated. 10 per hour for late checkouts. And when I went to the desk to check out. I WAS NoT GIVEN BACK MY CASH DEPOSIT. Be sure to make sure not to forget something like your deposit because the staff is not going to just return it apparently đ. Unless u specifically ask.
A few details about the room.... Over all at a glance housekeeping does a pretty routine job that appears pretty top to bottom. Clean walls and surfaces all around. I would recommend an upgrade to the electrical recepticals as they were not up 2 par considering electricity is nothing to take lightly. The lamps on the night stands had ni incorperated electrical ports. So the night stands ha f to be moved to charge electronics. In addition the front double door of the facility had issues with one of the doors being dysfunctional (not).
Overall friendly staff again more policy oriented then customer service oriented. For the policy in place in favor of profit the facility should be in immaculate...
