1.5 stars. We stopped at this hotel for a 1 night stay to and from our vacation in Louisiana. And you really SHOULD only stay one night if you choose to stay here. We should have done more research and we found out that the hotel has some serious management and house keeping issues. First off when we drove into the lot there wasn’t a single car, aside from the worker’s on the other side of the building that should have been our first red flag and should have sent us away. The first night we were the only guest when we checked in that afternoon (we woke up and there were more two cars... still not a lot.) but we figured it was a weekday, no big deal. Brushed it off. The first time we stayed there our bed was either broken or didn’t have the proper bed frame to fit the mattress. Second night the bed was fine except it was just a old and worn down mattress that creaked at every movement. The rooms were clean but not CLEAN clean. It’s was OK clean. Luckily we didn’t have any musty or smelly rooms like others have complained about. On our second night (which was the final night of our trip back home) so we tried to make the best of it and decided to go to the pool. DON’T. The pool had broken tile at the bottom, sand and dirt was in piles at the deep end and there was hair and trash in the pool. Not to mention their hot tub has been broken for well over a year now and no attempts of fixing it anytime soon. The elevator was working one day, broke the next, and by morning it was fixed. If you have the slightest disturbance with elevators... I would take the stairs. Breakfast was fine, no hot meat or eggs. There are no beverages or snacks in the fridges at the front desk. Several appliances were broken and the front desk lady was in charge of putting all the food out. So the hotel seems very understaffed. On the topic of staff. We had very little interaction and the interaction we had wasn’t pleasant. Aside from the the lady who checked us out that first night, the staff treated us like an inconvenience. We would interrupt them watching videos on their phone or whatever they were doing in the back. They looked like they didn’t care about their job. When we checked out the second time the woman was hunched over in her phone and we asked her if we could check out. She looked at us like we were stupid, took our room cards and with great attitude asked us “Is there something you want?” We were expecting some sort of receipt for the stay. We had to ask for it. All the while her drama show blaring on her phone behind the counter. Do yourself a favor, keep searching and don’t stay here, we...
Read moreAs a diamond member I stay at Clarion/Comfort Inn facilities 4 nights a week all over the country. Typically you sign a form stating that they may charge you $250 for smoking in the room to the credit card on file. This facility wants you to put down $100 cash or credit card and hold the money for 3-5 days after check out. The paper they have you sign at this location clearly states that a deposit of up to $100 for cash paying and debit card paying customers.
The front desk person was rather adamant that That I should leave cash deposits of $100 per room so I do not have to wait 5 days to get my money back. You can read plenty of of reviews about this place "losing" the cash deposit of multiple people. This bunko swindle should be investigated by both Choice Brands and the local police department.
Working for a major corporation and booking the rooms via the Comfort In website and at the corporate rate for the employer. Also paying with a corporate credit card that has my and my employers name. I have to book multiple rooms for those employees traveling with me. This resulted inmate having to use my personal credit card for hundreds of dollars in deposits that they want to hold for days. Then the front desk person wanted to take a copy of my drivers license. I handed her my corporate ID with my picture, name, ID number and address to be reached. She said it has to be your state issued ID. I explained if you can show me a written policy of who has access to these photo copies, how long these records are retained and who is held liable for identity theft then I will give you a copy of my license. Other then that you can use my corporate ID. You already have my diamond account information. My personal credit card. My corporate credit card. My vehicle information. What justification would there be to need my drivers license? Choice offered to reimburse me for the rooms. I explained they are paid for via our corporate card and that would not fix the problem of the confidence game they have going on here.
My room was Nice and newly renovated. No bugs. Only issue was limited hot water. As well as the freezer in the fridge was nasty. Like melted ice cream all over it. Staff may have not noticed and other may have not informed them as of it. If they can get the front desk bamboozle fixed I would recommend the place. Until they do that. Choice should remove this location from its offerings to corporate clients as they typically do for...
Read moreThis place was horrible and the staff very unprofessional. There was an unpleasant scent when entering the building but appeared clean. When checking in the clerk was in the lobby getting her hair done by someone and had to take a break to check us in, "So kind of her" and she acted as if we interrupted something important. After getting up to the room, the room smelled as if the carpet was mildewed and had not been cleaned in years. The sheets on the bed was stained with something blue and appeared to not be clean. A complaint was made with front desk and the outcome was to come down for another set of sheets, "WOW". We ended our trip early because we just could not stay another day in this hell hole. The clerks again was very unprofessional (this time there were three of them) and refused to give us our money back for ending our stay early and refused to give us contact information for the manager or owner. The one who had initially checked us in was very mouthy and refused to assist us in checking out, the one that did check us out was very nonchalant with her exchange with us and the third worker was the background hype man for the ratchetness that they were giving. One girl finally called someone and who ever was on the other end of the call directed her to return our money with tax (unfortunately she failed math class because she did not know how to calculate the math.) While the other just kept stating, "I don't even remember yall even paying with cash". I suggested they pull it up in their system but was ignored. Finally we were given our money back and then the workers began arguing among themselves because the one who had initially checked us in and was the rudest felt as if she could have handled the situation better than the nonchalant worker. The owners truly need to take more pride in their business and hire quality people to represent their brand. I mean this is hospitality and the workers should exude hospitable qualities. I feel a one star rating is even too much for the horrible service received at this poorly run down...
