Ridiculous. This is suppose to be a newly renovated hotel. The rooms are just OK. The pool room door is broken. The heated pool is freezing. The hot tub is luke warm. The fact so many of these people on here do not feel safe is that the security door at the SIDE entrance is just unlocked. One side is broken so it is shut all the time. The other side just opens. I prefer hotel to motel because you can't just walk up to anyone hanging around. Well just anybody can walk up here and meet you in the hall and rob you. But the staff says it is OK because they record everybody. That makes me feel safe. At least after I am assaulted, they will be able to identify the person. Also the staff lets just about anybody they know use the pool and hot tub, etc. I heard the conversation myself at the front desk. Because the door is broken, people show up just to go swimming. I had one young couple "brag" about the fact that "no one knows". I saw several people show up and go to the pool and then leave. Some left because the pool, get this, "was too crowded". Lolol. Now the capper to my awful stay is that I checked in on a Monday. Tuesday morning I accidentally left a "do not disturb" sign on the door. That was my bad. I called at about 3 and the lady at the desk said she could at least get us new towels. She did and I thanked her. I also said I "desperately" need my room cleaned. Well we worked 12 hours on Wednesday. I could only think of getting a shower and going to bed. We get back and no clean towels, no room cleaning, no garbage changed. Our room reeked. I had to complain to the front desk. I was pissed but remained calm. What really pissed me off was she told me at 9:00pm that they had no clean towels. They were being washed and would be ready in about 30 minutes. After having them "all day". Well I waited for 30 minutes and you guessed it.......no towels. I took a shower with a dirty rag and "dried" off with a damp floor towel. My wife waited and got towels about an hour later. "AN HOUR LATER". The front desk called and asked her to come downstairs and go with her to get them. She had a cast on her ankle and could not "carry anything". You know what,?? That is not my problem. The hotel should have more than ONE girl on shift. Yes just one person.......FOR THE ENTIRE HOTEL. So on Thursday they finally cleaned the room and changed the sheets. By Thursday we used the last of the shampoo, razor, shaving gel, etc.....Well on Friday I get back and of course the bed is made and there are clean towels but they did not restock ANYTHING. So I have to go and collect that from the front desk. There was no razor, shaving gel or hand soap on Wednesday. Needless to say, I won't be back and I do not recommend any one...
Read moreI did some research. We wanted to spend labor day weekend in Memphis. This hotel had the features I wanted, a pool, free breakfast, and free parking. All delivered. But the hotel looked like it had some upgrades, but still needed others. Staff was very friendly, both on the phone and in person. Our hotel room had a rip on the sheer draping, but we still had the sunblocking drapes that we used. Bathroom seemed remodeled recently and had marble like tile, extra wide shower curtain and multi spout shower head. We had the usual soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, plus a hairdryer that worked quite well. The beds were alright. Pillows seemed to be too soft and feathery, but I like a firm pillow often not found in hotels... sheets seemed clean and presentable. A comfortable nights sleep. I was big on free breakfast since we were staying a long weekend, and I wasn't disappointed. Hot food was biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage linked and a penned pasta with marinara sauce, and coffee. Other food was yogurt, muffins, fruit filled pastry, bagels, three different cereals from dispensers, milk, oj and apple juice. Very good breakfast for a hotel. Ooooh, and waffle mix you make yourself. But there is no restaurant or bar, that is where they serve breakfast. Some hotel links say there is a restaurant, but that is not true. Its only open for their breakfast which comes with your stay. Pool was cold. And slippery. As hot as it was labor day weekend in Memphis, and we spent the day at the zoo... SO HOT!!! Pool was too cold to enjoy yourself. Hot tub was bath water, so we let our three year old in the "hot" tub with us. DON'T RUN!!! The floor is cute with its dolphin mosaic, but EXTREMELY SLIPPERY!!!! Not a bad stay at all, but it is run down a bit. With the proper upgrades, this could easily be a 3 star + hotel. But right now, I would still say 2.5. We stayed here three nights over labor day weekend. Aside from the fact that a hotel worker set off the fire alarm(but good to know Memphis FD responded quickly, like 2 mins) we...
Read moreOur room was 302. The bed was either on a rusty metal box or there was a witch being boiled in oil under us who screamed every time we shifted in our sleep. The hotel was old and dated. Behind our toilet you could tell they had just painted over what looked like black mold. The first day we noticed there wasn't a hairdryer in our room. When we called for one they said they would bring one to us. 45 min later we had to call again before we finally got a dryer. When we left for the day on day 1 the room attendants didn't replace the toilet paper leaving me to... let's say... make it work... thank God for the Kleenex dispenser in the bathroom... when my wife called for TP she had to go down to get it and negotiate for a second roll with the front desk clerk as if he had traded his first born for the case they keep in the back. On day two we got back to the room after being gone all day and the cleaning attendants hadn't touched our room during the day. We're travelling with a 2 year old and they aren't always the driest sleeping companions... so we stripped the bed so the attendant didn't have to. So we called at 6pm for service and were told they would send someone up and they'd be there in 15 min. I pray they didn't send someone because when we downstairs an hour later to talk to them in person they didn't even act concerned for a friend and co-worker they had sent upstairs and no one had ever seen. So now here I sit almost 2 hours after the initial call writing this less than glowing review. Now you may be asking why I even gave them 2 stars, well that's because the woman who attended the breakfast in the mornings was so sweet and attentive that we felt the need to tip her for how hard she was working. I won't be staying here again unless someone pays me to do so. The only reason I stayed this time is I booked through Expedia and couldn't get a refund. If you're looking, I'd say find...
