Walked in today with my boyfriend to place a to go order, we didn't want to dine in. Mind you we are both black and everyone in the restaurant is Hispanic. I have never had a problem placing an order to go. A Hispanic guy came in after us and told the server that he had a to go order for nachos. His food was on the table along with other to go orders. He received his food and left. We're still waiting on someone to take our order. The older woman who I think is the wife of the owner Mr. Freddie told us they aren't taking to go orders. So I asked are you refusing us service. She said they dont do to go orders on Sunday and asked a young Male server to talk because she didn't speak good English. He reiterated the same thing and I asked what is the difference if we sit down and dine and that I've placed to go orders on Sunday before. I said why is it an issue and I've never had this problem, it's not posted and you have several to go orders on the table waiting to be picked up. At that point Mr. Freddie came over and I told him what was going on and he said I could place an order but it would be about 20 minutes. Me and my boyfriend felt so angry and disappointed. It was apparent that we were being discriminated against. I hate this happened because I loved the food and had never had a problem prior to this situation but this will be my last time patronizing their establishment. I will happily go to other Mexican restaurants that want my hard...
Read moreUntil today, this was my favorite Mexican restaurant. For the first time in 4 years, I was displeased with my order (it was just a to go order of guacamole). When I had my son return it and ask for a refund, he was not given the full amount. When he returned for a second time to request the rest of the money, the man, who Iater identified himself as the owner, told my son "tell your mama don't come back to my restaurant since she wants to be so difficult." Of course I went inside to speak with him (and yes I kept it professional). After telling him how much I love their food, I told him that I was very disappointed that I was asked not to return simply because I asked for a refund and expected the full amount. He told me that if I don't like his food I shouldn't come back (never mind that I had already informed him that Playita was my favorite spot for Mexican food). Certain that no restaurant has 100% customer satisfaction, I asked if he saids the same to guests who send dishes back to the kitchen. Of course he said no. I'm really going to miss the food, but my only regret is frequently patronizing an establishment that has such little regard for its guests or...
Read moreI’ve eaten here before and I do not recall the food tasting THAT BLAND.
First it was the OLD Tea, my husband said tasted like it had been in the fridge for DAYS. I get the part of being an owner and squeezing every penny you used but this is not right. They must purchase expired food in bundles to save. Like all these buffets 🤌🏻 Second, the CHIPS, STALE and I let ALL that pass…. then, it was the salsa that had no flavor.TASTED LIKE THE SALSA I MADE MY MOM WHEN I WAS 12. I ORDERED THE “ Fajitas steak nachos “ Only to receive my 6 chip nachos 😭 buried under a sautéed onion with some sprinkled carne 😂 Good cuts of meat I give them that but the sour cream tasted and smelled weird His excuse was that there’s different brands. I didn’t ask for a refund all I said is that I WAS NOT SATISFIED. I still PAID. “ITS THE BRAND SOMETIMES IT TASTES DIFFERENT” I’m a sour cream lover and have tasted every single type of sour cream out there including the authentic Mexican crema and it DOES NOT TASTE LIKE THAT NEITHER DOES IT SMELL LIKE ROTTEN MILK. But ANY-WAY...
