If you’re searching for an exceptional dining experience that fuses Mediterranean and Iraqi cuisine, this restaurant is a gem you simply cannot miss. Every detail here reflects a deep passion for quality and authenticity, from the flavorful dishes to the welcoming atmosphere.

The gyro sandwich is a masterpiece — tender, well-seasoned meat wrapped with fresh vegetables in soft, fluffy bread. Their chicken and beef kababs are the stars of the show: incredibly juicy, perfectly char-grilled, and bursting with rich, savory spices that linger delightfully on the palate. The garlic fries are unlike anything I’ve tasted — crisp, golden perfection with a bold garlic flavor that makes them addictively unique.

Don’t overlook the appetizers. The spring rolls and spanakopita are light, flaky, and generously filled, making them an excellent start to your meal. And let’s not forget the sauces — the garlic sauce is absolutely divine, creamy, and full of punch, elevating every dish it accompanies.

What sets this place apart is the generous portions and the remarkable consistency in the quality of food. This being my third visit, I’ve been wowed every single time. Their desserts are something to rave about too — the kunafa is indulgently sweet with a perfect balance of crispy and creamy textures, while the baklava is layered with flaky, buttery goodness. Pair these with a glass of their fragrant Iraqi tea or bold Turkish coffee, and you’ll end your meal on a perfect note.

One of the hidden treasures here is their signature juice collection. The blends are vibrant and refreshing, each sip crafted with care and packed with flavor.

Beyond the incredible food, the dedication of the owners shines through in every aspect of this restaurant. Their commitment to creating a welcoming, top-tier dining experience is evident in the thoughtful service and meticulous attention to detail. You can tell this isn’t just a restaurant — it’s their pride and joy, and they’re sharing it with every customer who walks through the door.

This is more than just a meal — it’s an experience. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for bold flavors, generous portions, and the heartwarming hospitality of Iraqi cuisine. This place is a treasure I’ll keep...

I came across some solid reviews about this place online, so we decided to check it out. We dropped by on a weeknight, and to our surprise, the place was completely empty—not a single diner in sight. It’s a huge space, yet when we walked in, there wasn’t even a staff member around. We had to ring the bell before someone finally came out to seat us.

We kicked things off with hummus and pita. The hummus was pretty standard, and the pita? Definitely store-bought—not a fan. I love when Middle Eastern spots serve fresh, house-made bread, so this was a bit of a letdown.

For mains, I got the chicken shawarma roll, while my husband went for a kebab platter with both chicken and beef, served with rice and salad. We also ordered fries, and those were spot on—crispy, well-seasoned, and fried to perfection. The shawarma roll was huge, packed with smoky, creamy, flavorful chicken and fresh lettuce for some crunch. But again, the pita wrapping the roll was the same store-bought type, which took away from the experience. My husband, on the other hand, was pretty happy with his platter. The kebabs were juicy, the rice was flavorful, and the pickled veggies and salad complemented everything perfectly.

Service was a bit lacking—we had to ask for water mid-meal 🙄. But the staff (or maybe the owner?) made up for it with a kind gesture—offering me a complimentary tea and giving my husband a slice of baklava since he doesn’t drink tea. Definitely appreciated that.

Overall, it’s a casual spot with fresh food, but if they really want to level up, they need to start baking their own pita. That would make all...

Shawerma King Restaurant is a true treasure that deserves all the support it can get! This family-owned business offers not just incredible food but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the beautiful entrance decoration, which set the tone for a delightful dining experience. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. I had the chicken shawarma, falafel, and Iraqi kabab, and every bite was packed with rich, authentic flavors. The meat was perfectly seasoned , the falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the kabab had that smoky, taste that makes you crave more. To top it all off, I enjoyed a cup of traditional Iraqi tea, which was the perfect way to end the meal. And let me just say—their chicken shawarma is the best in Memphis! it is an absolute must-try. It’s clear that the family behind Shawerma King puts their heart into everything they do, from the food to the hospitality. If you’re looking for a place that serves high-quality, flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine with a personal touch, this is it! I will definitely be visiting again and again, and I highly encourage everyone to support this wonderful local business. You...

I ordered takeout from here and it was very delicious. The family that owned it was polite as I ordered over the phone and picked up my order. This is two orders of falafel appetizer & 1 order of grape leaves. My family and I enjoyed this paired with some food I had at the house. I will definitely be back & may eat inside next time. If you do not have dietary restrictions or allergies, they also have chicken/meat options. The prices were also fairly reasonable.
