This has been by far the worst experience I've had with Hilton.. The General Manager Joy was beyond rude, threatening, hostile, yelling and extremely unprofessional!.. I checked in on Thursday, the young lady at the desk (Sha) was so welcoming upon arrival, I just knew it was going to be a Great stay until I made it to my room the towels and bed had black hair all on them and the shower was just Nasty! I went down stairs and took a towel with me so the young lady could see, she immediately apologized and moved me to another room.. After moving to the next room, the phone didn't work, tv in and out but soon as I was getting in the shower THE WATER WAS OFF! There was no phone so o went back downstairs to see was happen and Sha explained that it should be back on at 10:30 pm but she gave me water to wash my face because it had soap on it, I'm sure she was overwhelmed because several ppl was downstairs but she remained professional and patient! That's the Hilton I know and her attitude made things so much better till I went on! Day 2 It was so Loud, music blasting after 11pm, TV wouldn't work but I couldn't call down because the Tv still didn't work! (Sha wasn't there) Day 3 I stop by the desk after work ( Here working for 13 weeks in the local hospital) I spoke with Sha about my concerns and she gave another remote, I called her around 9:30 because the floor above someone was running up and down the hallway, I asked her about the Hospital rate because I was told it should be one since I was traveling, she explained that I would have to speak with Joy the GM in be morning because she would have to don't it in the computer and that she would be there at 8:30 so I said ok thank.. I had to be at work this morning at 6:30, I called the hotel because of course the phone wasnt working! I did ask Sha to give Joy my number because I was unable to get anyone at the hotel, Joy called me at approximately 11:12am .. From the beginning of Hello she was rude, stating it's her off day! I apologize and explained I was traveling and was trying to get the hospital rate and because I was booking for another four days.. She immediately became defensive, over talking, yelling and even stated something about the young lady Sha who absolutely gave her all within her powers to rectify the situation. I placed the call on speaker so my coworkers could witness this lady behavior, to say the least we all was speechless! She stated she could care less about how she was representing Hilton. I asked to speak with her boss, she refused! Her threaten behavior left me afraid for Sha Job and my well being, when I say I've never experienced anything like this, I feel like I should contact the police department because I'm not from here and her behavior showed me she doesn't care about trying to hurt someone and I DO NOT TRUST HER WITH ME PERSONALLY BUSINESS! I contacted the the Hilton customer service desk and the took my report and she sent it up.. I waiting for a call back but DO NOT STAY THERE WHILE JOY IS EMPLOYED, I could've dealt with the problems met in the rooms but Koy lack of communication, integrity, professionalism, concern and respect for the Company and Customer is beyond justification! I don't feel safe! My card is charged already for the next four days! I will do I follow up statement after I speak with headquarters! Walked in after work, families at desk complaining! Guy stated his air been out since 12 noon, it's 7:20 pm! Hilton this couldn't be your brand?!? This is Deplorable!! Healthcare worker who's traveling, DONT STAY UNLESS CHANGE ARE MADE EXTREMELY! I will let you know if they follow up Monday like I'm told! It's privately owned, they couldn't care about anything but money to allow someone to have this type of work ethic and behavior spare heading their company!!IM AFRAID MY PERSONAL BUSINESS MAYBE AT RISK!! My card information etc, if the General Manager as sh call herself carry herself like that I don't put NOTHING pass her! I want to speak with the Owner ASAP and I want to speak with Hilton Team,...
Read moreMy room was deplorably filthy, which was evident the moment I walked in. It took me 45 minutes to wipe/sanitize EVERY surface and “mop” the entire floor with hotel towels. My child and I spotted countless hairs in/among the bed covers. We had to borrow bedding from a local relative to rest in the room comfortably. Additionally, I specifically requested fresh towels and clean trash bins on multiple occasions -- it was not done during the entirety of my stay.
I spoke to three staff members at the front desk during the course of my stay to address the issue. Everyone, except for a woman called “Flossie,” was pleasant and receptive. (Flossie was abrasive and dismissive, having a combative or defensive demeanor each time I spoke with her, even over the phone. She never gave the impression that she wanted to help or even cared about the situation.) Staff members Tyler (?) and Jordan at least maintained a helpful attitude and were compassionate about my shocking experience.
In reality, NONE of the front desk staff actually helped -- they wrote my name and number on a random slip of paper and said they were “leaving it for the manager.” When I asked when I could expect contact from the manager or when he would be in, I received conflicting and confusing information -- all of which was false. Another member of my family who also had a horrible experience with a disgustingly filthy room was able to get the truth that the manager, Prennatha “Nate” Lewis, would not return to the property, see our requests for contact or address the matter AT ALL until after we all check out. To date, I have not been contacted by “Nate” or any other hotel representative.
While I appreciate the efforts of this one member of staff, it was not enough to erase the collective anguish and disgust of me or my family. Walking into rooms in those conditions made us leery of every other aspect of service in the hotel. Specifically, several safety concerns included: an inebriated man sleeping in the lobby, a homeless woman approaching guests inside the building to ask for money, and a staff member taking an evening nap on one of the sofas in plain view of several guests.
These issues are clearly the result of an ineffective, irresponsible “manager” who needs to be more aware of the brokenness of the property’s culture and conditions, and staff in dire need of training and guidance. The Tru by Hilton in Meridian is, hands down, the WORST Hilton I have ever stayed in, and I won’t be returning.
I give the hotel a positive “2” out of 10, because the water temperature and pressure were great, the workout facility was top-tier, there were great toys and games for our children in the lobby, and the lobby had several comfortable areas to gather together in the evenings. Also, MOST service desk team members were hospitable and friendly, and our trip was salvaged to some degree by the stand-out, Christina, who...
Read morePros: dog friendly / Tesla charger / staff friendly Cons: it’s a dorm, nothing more nothing less. Marketed as minimalist /modern but in reality it’s simply a posh dorm. Rooms are small with extremely limited usable space beside bed. Floors are practical but slippy (for dogs) and cold. Forget large dog crates, large dog itself barely fits by the door to sleep. Sold as minimalist idea (money saving if you ask me) you can expect no in room services one expects from any (even 2) hotels such as coffee maker, tea and microwave. Hot water is only in the lobby. If you traveling with a larger than cabin luggage - well forget it; there is no cupboard to put your things, nor there is space to put your actual suitcase. No it will not fit under the bed. There is a video (no kidding) on the TV which tells you how to use the room!!! - this has me worried about the intended user’s expected intelligence of this hotel. We shared a king bed - every move my husband made, I unintentionally made too, the spring mattress wasn’t the best choice here! If you like to sleep in the dark , bring some eye masks since the “modern blinds” are not going to keep the light out, there are no blackout curtains. The bathroom is unexpectedly large, shower works great, plenty of water pressure. When you flush the toilet - you know of it! The whole thing shakes, it’s loud! Big emphases is on the products being offered (quality etc) although if one is inclined to use environmentally friendly products chances are they already bring their own preferred brand. lobby is fun, great for families to play - although since the rooms are not family size I guess the intended audience is single or young millennials. A lot of the decor is cheap and /or simply a mimic. Booths in lobby suppose to be a “sound limiting/proof”- well they are not. Some of the furniture is comfy others just “look good “ - same for bedroom. The gym compares to a one in a 2 hotel, nothing to speak of. Cooked Breakfast is processed food and limited choice, two choices of fruits , rest just like in cheap hotels - definitely not a Hilton standard. There are 3 Tesla chargers - one didn’t work, one barely charged, one worked a little more - none charged our car fully overnight! As an extra added “bonus” we got to watch the The View while having breakfast ; talk about not feeling welcomed. Best part - ALL this for a not so friendly price of xxx$ . Hilton - you can do better. This concept is interesting but if the target audience is broader than single millennials than few issues raised by many should...
