The room wasn't bad at all. A little dated but very comfortable and quiet. The customer service from PALOMA who checked us in was disrespectful and disgusting. I don't know why she felt the need treat us like we didn't belong or like she didn't want us here. We were waiting for the first room to be available since our flight was changed. PALOMA told us she already had our phone number and she would call us when a room was available. I then asked her to repeat the number to us and she couldn't do it so I gave her our number again. ||Later, we asked if she had bottled water. PALOMA told us "we don't have water for you" we then told her we were Diamond members and that is one of our benefits. She walked away while talking to us say again "we don't do that here" she never came back so we left to the next door lobby. ||At this point it was 2pm and I noticed other guests checking in early and getting rooms. I went back to the check hoping for another person but there she was PALOMA rolling her eyes as I walked in. Before I said a word, "No room available" very fast and stern. I replied "OK please call us". ||At 2:10 Pm we received a call from another staff member letting us know we have a room. PALOMA checked us in and never gave any instructions about amenities, where are room was, check out times. She only asked how many keys do we need. My wife asked her again. What do they have for Dime members checking in? PALOMA walked away from the desk again and came back with a bag with two water bottles. This upset me because we were lied to earlier. I reminded her that she told us they didn't give water bottles to Diamond members. At this point everything was in question for me I asked her what other benefits aren't we getting like room upgrades late checkouts and she said they don't do Diamond member benefits.||I was very disappointed at this time we walked out of the check-in lobby, headed to our room with no direction whatsoever, and no information on the hotel. We had to look for our room which was in that different building. When we walked in our room, everything looked fine except there was construction going on right by our room right outside our window. I didn't wanna deal with the check-in or the front desk so we didn't say anything. Then we noticed the TV in the bedroom didn't work, at this point, I was forced to call the front desk and guess who answered, PALOMA. I asked if she can have someone come take a look at the TV and she said she would send someone two hours later. I'm still waiting in the room and I was forced to call the front desk again thank God someone else picked up the phone and took my request as if I never called before, I had somebody at my room within 10 minutes, which was pretty quick compared to two hours.||The next morning, housekeeping comes to our room around 10 AM. I explained to them we weren't ready we never knew checkout was at 10 AM. I called to request a late check out to 1030 AM. PALOMA answered I asked can 3106 have a late checkout? PALOMA says "we don't have anymore late checkout" I knew this was the wrong person to reason with, so I just said OK and hung up. My wife reminded me she never mentioned any checkout times or any instruction because she had an attitude with us the whole time.|Being a Hilton, Diamond member for so many years and a Hilton vacation club owner. This is one of the most disrespectful experience I've ever had from a Hilton brand. I will be following up with additional complaints because this does not represent...
Read moreThis place definitely did NOT live up to the Hilton standards. The elevator was broken 2.5 days (most of Friday, half of Saturday, and today). The fire alarm sounded more than 5x. The fire department came each time - this is a waste of resources. The building is dirty and looks as if there’s no housekeeping. They sat in one room most of the days we were there. The carpet obviously haven’t been cleaned in years. When checking in we had to walk 2 buildings down. The first day housekeeping used a key to come in our room without knocking. She said she wasn’t aware someone had checked in. Soon after the front desk called to say she was coming. A previous guest had left something in the safe so the 2 female receptionist came in and tried to retrieve it - I was in a towel but comfortable with them because I had met them. Then two men came - one who worked there (that’s what he said) with the previous guest. Why did the employee think this was even ok? Let me add that My husband was not there when the men came so I stood at the exit door. Also, with as many times as the fire alarm went off NO ONE even gave us any information. Except, the exhausted firefighters apologizing & telling us this is a Hilton problem and not their fault.
DO NOT STAY HERE. I’ll be waiting on a call from the corporate office. Otherwise, I will be calling them to rectify this issue.
Also, I will update you guys if the alarm goes off again tonight because I’m still here! I’m exhausted. I just wanted a peaceful stay and this has been a bit much. This place charged me $666 (that should have been a sign) or $222/night.
Update: No alarms through the night Sunday (but around 1130 Monday- which was after I checked out).
Update (a wk later): a representative did reach out to me via email. Basically telling me that I should've read the website to know that there would be construction RIGHT at my window. She also said that the floors are vacuumed every day. I didn't hear a vacuum the ENTIRE time I was there. She did say that they would be remodeling next year. Do what you please with that information. They also did not offer any type of courtesies for being so badly inconvenienced...
Read moreThe location is great, right on south beach or Ocean Drive. Arriving to the hotel there is no parking. They have arranged parking with the city and they hold your car during your stay. However, it is on Collins Street. If you don't arrange for pick up. You will find yourself walking your luggage in the heat a few blocks over to the alternate street. Was not expecting that at all. (it seems other hotels do the same) The resort is apart of another affiliate and when we arrived to the hotel after the walk, there was no one at the front desk. It was not very clear where to go to just check in. After asking questions and someone from the hotel assisting with the luggage and much frustration and heat. Getting in the room, it was clean (and I had a handicap room). The shower was of course accessible for handicap, not sure how a wheelchair would get in the shower, very tight. The water was everywhere from the shower. Thank God, the bed was comfortable and the hotel could use some update. But, overall comfortable and clean it is an older hotel and charming. The price was right for a quick last minute trip. During my stay I really saw no other staff except for check in. We met a few folks there, that come on a regular basis from sitting on the front porch and enjoying the night breeze. So overall, it was not bad and once we figured out the whole parking thing my husband got the car and met us at the corner of Ocean and the Alley. (that's where the access of cars are allowed. Also, no pool, the beach is very close. The beach had a lot of seaweed from the current pushing it in. My 12 year old was not happy with that. I was looking forward to the roof top, but it was under construction. The location definitely gives you a Miami feel if that's what you want. Be ready for the restaurants, very pricey and they add the additional fees for service. It's...
