Let's be honest. If you want to find some of the finest looking women in the skimpiest looking bathing suits, this is the place! The beach is about a 15 minute drive from Miami. But be warned (I shouldn't tell you this)! If you don't get there before 9am (10am by the latest), you will have difficulty finding a parking spot.

Street parking is available next to the park that adjoins the beach, but it disappears quickly. They use the license plate system, where you must put in a valid license plate number, on your vehicle and park for time. The fee is about $4 an hour. They have ticketed me before, and I still have 5 minutes on the meter. They just assumed I wouldn't make it back.

There are smaller parking lots about two blocks from the beach and you can sometimes find parking there, or you must subject to a parking garage.

The beach itself is extremely wide, so you can be close to the water, where the crowds are or pull back a little and have some space. The lifeguard towers are usually manned. Not much else to say about it, but the water is warm, well except in the coldest months, the shops sell you anything you need for your beach enjoyment and the sightseeing is breathtaking even for old eyes like mine.
